Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 528: Chapter 525: An Encounter with Zhou Jiajia

Soon, the van could no longer fit any more jade roughs, and Wu Jun couldn’t help twitching at the corners of his mouth as he looked at the stones filling the vehicle.

He had come on this trip following the team leader’s orders to protect his wife, but seeing the situation now, he couldn’t help worrying about his team leader.

The team leader’s wife was just too good at spending money, having spent over a million in two hours. At this rate, no matter how much money the team leader earned, it would never be enough.

Wu Jun might not understand jadeite, but he knew that stone gambling wasn’t an easy endeavor. With the speed and method Huo Sining was picking the jade roughs, could there really be jadeite inside these stones?

Wu Jun was very skeptical and pained by the thought, a million spent on just a van full of stones, it was simply... too wasteful.

Just at that moment, Huo Sining suddenly received a phone call, to her surprise, from Ouyang Jun. She couldn’t help raising her eyebrows; they’d occasionally been in contact recently, but for him to call at this time, could it be that he was also in Ruili?

Indeed, as soon as she answered the phone, Ouyang Jun’s hearty laugh came through: ”Sister Huo, Qin Tian and I are in Ruili right now. When are you coming over?”

Hearing Ouyang Jun addressing her with this awkward title, the corners of Huo Sining’s mouth involuntarily twitched, but Ouyang Jun clearly didn’t sense anything amiss and even found the term endearing.

Not long ago, after learning from Gu Xu that Huo Sining was stone gambling for Bai Yishan’s Jade Studio, and seeing the jade roughs showcased online by the ”Crown Jade Beauty” studio, Ouyang Jun was utterly dazzled.

Plus, with Huo Sining insisting on purchasing the Mei Family’s jade rough, which resulted in obtaining a piece of exceptional Mutton Fat Jade for Ouyang Jun, he gained a deeper understanding of Huo Sining’s gambling skills.

While admiring Huo Sining immensely, he was also keenly aware that to acquire better jadeite, turning to Huo Sining was definitely the right move.

So when Ouyang Jun spoke to Huo Sining on the phone not too long ago and learned that she would be attending the Ruili stone gambling event, Ouyang Jun had immediately said he would come too. To participate in the stone bidding with Huo Sining, in Ouyang Jun’s view, was surely a no-loss proposition.

Huo Sining hadn’t expected Ouyang Jun to arrive so early, but she didn’t mind bringing along one or two more people. After all, there was so much jade rough on Gambling Stone Street that she couldn’t handle it all on her own. She could casually leak a bit of information and easily let Ouyang Jun and Qin Tian get a piece of the action.

Thinking this, Huo Sining laughed and said, ”I’m actually on Ruili Gambling Street right now. Where are you guys?”

”What a coincidence? We’re also on this street. Walk further in, there’s a Stone Dissolution Square in the very center of this street. We’re here watching people cut stones, but it’s quite crowded. If you’re coming, just give me a call when you get to the entrance.”

”Okay,” Huo Sining faintly heard shouting from the other end of the phone, seemingly another stone had increased in value, and Ouyang Jun seemed to be in a hurry, hastily ending the call, probably because he had set his heart on that particular stone that had increased in price.

After visiting so many shops, Huo Sining also felt a bit tired. The task of sweeping through Gambling Stone Street wasn’t something that could be finished in a day or two. Impatience wouldn’t bring success, so she decided to take a break. She then pulled Su Qingqing and Bai Yishan into the van and called out to Wu Jun, ”Drive, to the Stone Dissolution Square at the center of the street.”

Upon reaching Stone Dissolution Square, they indeed saw it surrounded by quite a few people.

It was almost six o’clock by then, and the sky was gradually darkening. Fortunately, the floodlights on the square had been turned on, so the place was as bright as day.

As Huo Sining walked into the square, she realized that there were about a dozen stone cutting machines, each surrounded by a circle of people craning their necks to peer inside, indicating that stone cutting was underway.

Huo Sining made a phone call to Ouyang Jun, who quickly squeezed out from a crowd of people.

Su Qingqing and Bai Yishan he had met before, but Wu Jun he had not. Seeing a man following behind Huo Sining, Ouyang Jun’s expression immediately showed surprise as he stared at Wu Jun, sizing him up.

”This is an employee from my Xianyu Shop, Wu Jun. This is Ouyang Jun, a childhood friend of Gu Xu.”

Huo Sining introduced them succinctly, and Ouyang Jun didn’t ask further questions. After hearing Huo Sining’s explanation, he just nodded, gave Wu Jun a few looks, and then stopped staring, leading Huo Sining and the others into that cluster of people.

Fortunately, none of these people were overweight and with Ouyang Jun paving the way, they managed to squeeze in after some effort. However, when Huo Sining saw the person operating the stone cutting machine in the center, he was stunned.

The person at the very center doing the stone appraisal was a woman who looked quite young, probably around twenty-seven or twenty-eight years old.

”This woman is also a gambling stone expert, not inferior to you. She chose four pieces of stone and cut three, all three appreciated in value. This is the last one.”

Seeing the puzzled look on Huo Sining’s face, Ouyang Jun hurriedly explained.

Ouyang Jun now felt extremely frustrated; what on earth was happening these days? The gambling circles used to be a man’s world, and now so many female experts were emerging recklessly. Women had already dominated other areas, did they also have to get their hands on the gambling circles?

Thinking of his recent streak of bad luck, where he lost at whatever he gambled on, Ouyang Jun felt somewhat dejected.

Three stones in a row appreciated in value? Huo Sining was surprised upon hearing this from Ouyang Jun and couldn’t help but gaze at the woman in astonishment.

”Sister Liu, Sister Liu, I’ve bought the water. Take a break and have a drink. You haven’t cut the last piece of stone when I left for a while, have you?”

Just then, a young girl bustled into the crowd from outside, her green dress weaving through the clump of people until she reached the center, anxiously and excitedly yelling at the woman in front of the stone cutting machine.

”Zhou Jiajia?!”

Seeing the girl, Huo Sining’s eyes widened in shock and his mouth fell open in disbelief.

Indeed, the girl in the green dress was none other than Zhou Jiajia, whom he met last year in S City, the granddaughter of Zhou Guosheng.

Back then, Huo Sining had encountered Zhou Guosheng and Zhou Jiajia while selling crabs at the Xianyu Shop, although at that time he did not know that this odd pair of grandfather and granddaughter were from the Zhou Family, who came to S City to invest a huge sum in building a factory.

It was not until later when Huang Hongying was worried about wild shad that Huo Sining used Spiritual Energy to purify several artificially bred shad into wild ones, securing for Su Zhenhua a two-billion investment project from the Zhou Financial Consortium. That was when Huo Sining learned Zhou Guosheng’s identity.

Afterward, Zhou Guosheng again pulled some strings through Su Zhenhua to meet Huo Sining at the teahouse, where he gave Huo Sining a private business card. During that meeting, Huo Sining saw Zhou Jiajia again and even had a chat and tea snacks with the young girl.

However, Huo Sining had not contacted the Zhou Family since then, and even that business card had been discarded somewhere unknown.
