Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 509: Chapter 505: The Egg is Going to be Crushed

Huo Sining saw Chen Xiaolong’s complexion turn pale as if facing a formidable enemy and couldn’t help but develop a sense of schadenfreude, ”Do you want me to call the police for you?”

Chen Xiaolong’s forehead was beaded with cold sweat, ”No... no need...”

Huo Sining turned around, squatted beside Chen Xiaolong’s head, and curiously asked, ”Are you really a criminal police captain? Aren’t many police officers quite impressive, brave and good at fighting? How come you’re scared like this by two little dogs? How can you catch kidnappers and criminals if you’re like this? Are we taxpayers just paying for a bunch of you cops who do nothing?”

When Chen Xiaolong heard this, he felt so choked up he wanted to vomit blood. Even though he was pinned down by the two Tibetan Mastiffs, he couldn’t help but roll his eyes at Huo Sining.

Little dogs, are these freaking little dogs? These are Tibetan Mastiffs! You try being pinned under two Tibetan Mastiffs, with them glaring hungrily at you, and then we’ll see if you still talk like this! It’s easy to talk without feeling the pain!

Chen Xiaolong was scared to death, but even at a time like this, he dared not offend Huo Sining, despite his dissatisfaction with her teasing. He could only explain in a pleasant tone:

”When we... face enemies... we are indeed brave and skilled in combat. Even if we are unlucky enough to fall... we can still be honored as martyrs who died in the line of duty.”

”But if one were to be killed by a dog bite... it’s uncertain how that would be categorized... probably as a disgrace to the police force... enough to make people laugh their heads off.”

Huo Sining couldn’t help but find it amusing; Chen Xiaolong was too proud to suffer, still worrying about how embarrassing it would be to be killed by a dog bite at this point.

With that in mind, she deliberately asked, ”Aren’t you just performing official duties? You came to investigate me, so even if you were bitten to death by a dog, it would still be considered death in the line of duty, right?”

”I...”

Chen Xiaolong was suddenly at a loss for words. Where was this performing official duties? He had sneaked over here from Hetian during his annual leave to investigate without obtaining his superior’s approval.

However, he couldn’t tell Huo Sining that, because if he did, it would mean he had broken the rules. If someone complained, he could lose his job.

Chen Xiaolong’s mind was racing, still thinking of a way to come up with an excuse, when unexpectedly, at that moment, the usually well-behaved Lei Shi suddenly came up close to Chen Xiaolong.

Its big mouth approached his nose, and its wet tongue nearly stuck into his mouth. Chen Xiaolong hurriedly closed his mouth, and the Tibetan Mastiff’s wet snout pressed against his nose and mouth, causing Chen Xiaolong to shut his eyes in near despair.

Damn it, if you’re going to bite, just bite, don’t scare people by looming over them like this; this is practically torture!

Chen Xiaolong felt a painful sensation of a swollen bladder, almost scaring him into wetting himself.

”Aren’t you performing official duties?” Huo Sining continued to ask.

Chen Xiaolong, preoccupied with worrying he might pee himself, heard Huo Sining’s question and subconsciously wanted to deny it.

But he hadn’t expected that at that moment, he would feel a sudden tightness in his groin as the other Tibetan Mastiff’s paw landed on his lower half. Although it wasn’t forceful, he shivered all over, utterly stunned.

”Don’t... don’t... I, I’m saying, I’m not on official duty!”

Huo Sining had him by the short and curlies, Chen Xiaolong now truly feared for his seven souls and six senses, his brain tensed up and he couldn’t think. If that Tibetan Mastiff really lashed out with a claw, he’d be done for as a human being, completely crippled!

”So why are you stalking me, what do you want with my private life? To threaten me, to blackmail and extort?”

Ever since she returned from Taicheng, Chen Xiaolong had been stalking her. With such dedication and perseverance, Huo Sining felt that his motives couldn’t be so straightforward.

However, as it turned out, she had thought too much into it. Why Chen Xiaolong was stalking her - the answer actually was just that pathetically amusing.

”I was really... just curious... purely out of curiosity...”

On the verge of having his balls crushed, Chen Xiaolong dared not be dishonest. But after he finished speaking with trembling fear, he immediately regretted it. He recognized this scene all too well; it was exactly like the tough interrogation tactics they used on suspects!

As his balls tightened up once again, Chen Xiaolong was so scared he nearly cried aloud. At this moment, he truly wanted to slap himself.

The kidnap case had already been closed, and he could have been sitting in his office with his legs propped up, sipping tea, playing cards, waiting for rewards and recognition from his superiors. Bored out of his mind, why did he come here to stalk someone and investigate their family history?

Now look what had happened, trying to steal a chicken only to end up losing the rice. Not a single piece of information found, and now his balls were genuinely at risk of being crushed!

Chen Xiaolong was on the verge of tears. They said curiosity killed the cat, and wasn’t he being killed by curiosity now? If he had known this woman kept two Tibetan Mastiffs, he wouldn’t have come near this place for the life of him!

While he was in a standoff with the two Tibetan Mastiffs, a sports car pulled in and parked in front of Huo Sining’s villa.

When the car door opened, a woman stepped out. Seeing Huo Sining standing at the courtyard gate, she froze in surprise and asked, ”Ningning, why are you outside?”

As Su Qingqing approached while speaking, she suddenly noticed Chen Xiaolong lying on the ground and burst out laughing, ”Yo, who is this guy enjoying such special treatment? How did he provoke Heitan and Lei Shi?”

Huo Sining smiled, ”He says he’s a police officer.”

Since Su Qingqing had only met him once in Hetian, she didn’t remember what Chen Xiaolong looked like. Hearing Huo Sining’s words, she was stunned, ”A police officer? Why would a police officer be here?”

Huo Sining shrugged, ”Don’t know, he said he’s the captain of the detective squad, here on official duty investigating a case. But he was lurking outside my house and got caught red-handed by Heitan.”

Su Qingqing looked at Chen Xiaolong being overpowered by the two Tibetan Mastiffs and scoffed disdainfully:

”A police officer? Aren’t they supposed to be brave, shrewd, and valiant? Even a captain of the detective squad, scared silly by two dogs? This guy must be an imposter! The security system in this neighborhood is tight. If a police officer comes in, it would definitely be announced beforehand, there’s no way to sneak around like this. I don’t think he’s any good, probably a fraud. Maybe even a thief. Shouldn’t we call the police?”

The moment Chen Xiaolong heard ’call the police’, he became frantic inside. Even though this was S City, the police systems were interconnected.

If he got caught here under the pretense of being a thief, it wouldn’t take long before the folks in Hetian found out. By then, he would lose face big time, and how would he ever be able to hold his head high at the police station again?

Seeing the nervous look on Chen Xiaolong’s face, Huo Sining couldn’t help but laugh, ”No need to call the police. Letting Heitan and Lei Shi play with him for a bit should ensure he won’t dare to be a thief again!”
