Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 529: Chapter 526: The Black Moss Again

Because Huo Sining felt that she had done nothing wrong, there was no need to make contact. Moreover, since the Zhou Family was a wealthy household, Huo Sining did not want to rashly contact Zhou Guosheng and give the Zhou family the wrong idea that she was the kind of person who coveted wealth and sought to attach herself to the powerful.

Huo Sining had not expected to meet Zhou Jiajia in such a place, and at first glance, she almost didn’t recognize her.

Zhou Jiajia, holding a bottle of mineral water, had just passed it to Liu Yuxuan when she heard someone calling her name. She instinctively looked towards the crowd a few steps away.

After scanning the crowd, Zhou Jiajia’s gaze finally settled on Huo Sining. At first a bit lost, she slowly seemed to remember something, and a look of surprise appeared in her eyes, ”Sister Huo? Is it really you?”

Huo Sining nodded, and Zhou Jiajia ran up in a few strides, grabbing Huo Sining’s hand and said with a delighted laugh, ”Sister Huo, it really is you! I didn’t expect to bump into you here. Just a few days ago, my grandfather was saying we should go to S City. Sister Huo, what brings you here, are you here on vacation?”

”No, I’m here to participate in the Ruili stone gambling,” Huo Sining explained with a smile.

Upon hearing Huo Sining’s response, Zhou Jiajia immediately became happy. Blinking a few times, she laughed and said, ”You’re also here for stone gambling? That’s great, Sister Liu and I are here for the Ruili stone gambling too. We can go together!”

Huo Sining frowned, and subconsciously wanted to decline Zhou Jiajia’s request. She did not want to mingle with people she was not familiar with, especially since she knew nothing about this Sister Liu that Zhou Jiajia mentioned.

Huo Sining clearly remembered how, during the gambling in Pingzhou, Zhou Zhen had arranged for people to follow and spy on Su Jinyuan. Who knew what kind of unwarranted thoughts might occur to this unfamiliar woman.

She came to bid in the stone gambling public sale, and to be safe, it was better to keep to herself.

Moreover, the woman surnamed Liu gave her an uneasy feeling—perhaps it was mutual dislike among women. Coupled with the fact that the woman was so skilled at stone gambling, Huo Sining instinctively felt averse to her.

But if she were to refuse too directly, Huo Sining was somewhat worried that it would hurt Zhou Jiajia’s self-esteem.

As Huo Sining was deliberating on how to answer Zhou Jiajia, that woman named Liu seemed to grow impatient. She cast a cold glance over, ”Jiajia, if you don’t come back soon, I’m going to start cutting this stone first!”

As soon as Zhou Jiajia heard this, she became anxious. She glanced at Huo Sining and, with an apologetic smile, stuck out her tongue, ”Sister Huo, I need to go over there first. I’ll call you tonight when we get back to the hotel. Let me have your phone number.”

Huo Sining smiled and recited her phone number as Zhou Jiajia hurriedly took it down. Then, she turned and ran towards the stone cutting machine, shouting as she went, ”Sister Liu, wait for me, I just learned how! Let me do the cutting, let me do it!”

Liu Yuxuan gave up her place to Zhou Jiajia and started to draw lines on the stone while giving Zhou Jiajia instructions.

Huo Sining observed the rock from not too far away. It was a piece from an old pit, typical old Pagang black oosh.

Continuous bands of dark green formed pine flower patterns on the skin of the gambling stone. Such bands, twisted like knotted ropes, are colloquially known as ’Python tight’, which usually indicates that the material inside the stone has a good color.

What surprised Huo Sining even more was that on those pythons from Shanghai with pine flowers, it was very likely that glass seed would emerge within the stone.

Such material was not cheap, just the old material from Old Pagang’s old pit was already priced high, and with the addition of this piece’s good performance, those python bands and pine flowers could make the price of this piece skyrocket by several times.

”That piece was said to have been bought by that woman inside for two million yuan, with ink pythons beneath pine flowers, such material is very likely to yield high green! This woman has quite the guts, comparable to you, Sister Huo.”

Ouyang Jun’s eyes also blazed with excitement because, with the precedent of the three cuts and three increases, everyone present believed that superior jadeite would emerge from within.

Huo Sining didn’t lay her hands on that piece of stone, but for some reason, when she saw those ink pine flowers, she felt uneasy, as if she had encountered this discomfort somewhere before, yet no matter how much she thought about it, she couldn’t recall.

Over there, Zhou Jiajia had set up the rough stone and, following Liu Yuxuan’s instructions, pushed it little by little toward the grinding wheel, making the first cut along the line drawn by Liu Yuxuan.

Stone debris splashed, and the eyes of the onlookers fixated on the cut as it went down, seemingly filled with excitement and tension.

A cut was made, and a palm-sized window was immediately revealed. A master nearby poured clean water over it, washing away the stone debris, and a neat cut was suddenly exposed—but upon seeing that cut, everyone was stunned.

Liu Yuxuan’s bottle of mineral water had just been opened and she hadn’t yet taken a sip when she saw the freshly washed window, her complexion instantly turned pale, as if all her strength had been drained, barely able to stand.

Zhou Jiajia had been excitedly waiting for the cut to increase value and set off firecrackers, but seeing the expression on Liu Yuxuan’s face, she immediately realized something was wrong. Looking down at the cut, she too fell silent with a stunned expression.

This cut was made where the ink python overlapped with the pine flower, and although only a thin slice was cut, the window already showed a hint of green, a very rich yang green, so pure that Huo Sining estimated it could reach the level of emerald.

Emerald is the best of the best in jadeite, but on that green window, it was densely covered with dark ink-green spots, like moss, speckled black infiltrating every corner of the emerald, and by the look of the distribution of the black moss, it seemed to be deeply penetrating the green.

While it’s said that moss indicates high green, if the entire piece was overtaken by black moss, then the emerald within, no matter how superior, would just be a worthless piece of scrap.

”How is this possible?!” echoed the thoughts of everyone present. How could such a well-performing piece turn out to be moss-eaten green.

Huo Sining was also stunned by this sight, but she quickly remembered the source of that strange feeling she had just experienced. Seeing the hair-raising black moss, she suddenly realized, recalling last year’s event in Pingzhou.

No wonder she had such a strong sense of familiarity; last year in Pingzhou’s stone gambling, Zhou Zhen had spent eight hundred thousand yuan in Shunde for that overpriced half-gambling material, which was full of black moss, wasn’t it?

The mold pine flowers on the surface of that stone were different from the ink python pine flowers on the Black Oosh that Zhou Jiajia held, but the feeling it gave Huo Sining was strikingly similar.

Initially, Huo Sining hadn’t recognized that the pine flowers on that piece of black-lined material were mold pine flowers. Now, it seemed that the so-called ink python pine flowers on the piece Zhou Jiajia held were likely a type of mold pine flowers.
