Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 520: Chapter 517: Lurking

Qin Shaoyou couldn’t help but frown tightly. ”There’s no other way, we’ll have to knock on each room door on every floor.”

Su Qingqing was stunned. ”Ah?”

Knocking on each room door, what kind of bad idea was that?

Huo Sining’s eyes, however, lit up. ”This method is good! Zhu Xingwang definitely knows Teacher Qin, so you can’t go, but he definitely doesn’t know the two of us. If we go knock on the door, he won’t become suspicious, and if he does open, we’ll just say we got the wrong room!”

”But, I don’t recognize Zhu Xingwang either,” Su Qingqing said, speechless.

Qin Shaoyou hurriedly took out his mobile phone from his pocket. ”I have his photo here! It’s what I sent to Jin Chenyu yesterday, luckily I didn’t delete it.”

The plan was set. Qin Shaoyou would block the entrance in the lobby, and if Zhu Xingwang hadn’t entered the hotel yet, he would follow him once he did. Huo Sining and Su Qingqing would knock on each room door inside the hotel, just needing to find Zhu Xingwang’s room number.

Su Qingqing felt this plan was terrible, considering the Hilton Hotel had a total of thirty-eight floors with six to seven hundred rooms. Knocking on each room door was certainly a foolish method.

But the time for Zhu Xingwang’s meeting with the Dongyang man was drawing closer, and they really couldn’t think of any other better methods, so they had to flog a dead horse as if it were alive.

Su Qingqing started knocking from the second floor, while Huo Sining took the elevator straight to the top floor and then started working her way down to meet up with Su Qingqing.

Su Qingqing started knocking on doors earnestly, even imagining the awkward scenario Huo Sining might be experiencing on the top floor. But she had no idea that Huo Sining didn’t knock at all; instead, she placed her hands flat against the wall, activated the Celestial Eye, and as she walked past and then back again, she took in all the sights of the rooms on the entire floor as if she were merely glancing at flowers on horseback.

First floor, second floor, third floor... Huo Sining was fast, and soon she reached the sixteenth floor without having caught sight of Zhu Xingwang.

Just as Huo Sining was starting to doubt whether their plan was feasible, she received a call from Qin Shaoyou.

”Zhu Xingwang is on the fourteenth floor. Jin Chenyu checked the surveillance video and found that he took the elevator to the fourteenth floor. But there’s no surveillance inside the hotel floors so we couldn’t see the corridor and don’t know which room he entered,” Qin Shaoyou said.

Hearts lifted by the news, Huo Sining quickly took the elevator to the fourteenth floor, and before long, she indeed discovered Zhu Xingwang inside one of the rooms.

Huo Sining was about to call Qin Shaoyou when her Heavenly Eye scanned inside the room and she realized something was amiss.

If Zhu Xingwang was truly here to make a transaction with the Dongyang man, he should’ve brought his research results with him. However, there was nothing extra in the room, just a briefcase on the bed.

Huo Sining took a closer look at Zhu Xingwang’s briefcase and discovered, to her surprise, that it was empty, with nothing inside it at all.

What was going on? Huo Sining furrowed her brows subconsciously, and just as she was puzzled, the elevator doors suddenly pinged open.

Huo Sining was startled and guessed that it might be the Dongyang man Zhu Xingwang was meeting, and in a flash of inspiration, she uttered the Invisibility Spell, concealing her form from sight.

Indeed, at the very moment Huo Sining’s Invisibility Technique took effect, three people emerged from the elevator, seemingly conversing in Japanese. The sound of their leather shoes clicked loudly on the floor as they quickly approached the room where Zhu Xingwang was and then knocked on the door.

Zhu Xingwang swiftly opened the door from the inside and immediately smiled on seeing the visitors, ”You must be President Watanabe?”

”Professor Zhu, hello, I am Watanabe Yasu, president of the Ornamental Fish Corporation,” said the man at the forefront as he stretched out his hand to Zhu Xingwang, introducing himself with a slightly awkward accent.

Zhu Xingwang led Watanabe Yasu and the two men behind him into the room. While they were entering, Huo Sining quietly slipped into the room as well. Zhu Xingwang looked outside into the hotel corridor cautiously a few times before closing the room door tightly.

Fearing that Qin Shaoyou and Su Qingqing might suddenly call him, Huo Sining tossed his phone into his storage ring and then stood silently in an inconspicuous corner of the room, waiting.

After exchanging pleasantries, they got straight to the point. Zhu Xingwang took out several photographs from his pocket and handed them to Watanabe Yasu.

Watanabe’s eyes lit up immediately after he looked at the photographs, and he became visibly excited.

Watanabe knew little Chinese and began speaking rapidly in Japanese; one of the two men accompanying him was an interpreter who, after listening, began to translate for Zhu Xingwang:

”Professor Zhu, our corporation is very interested in your German Red Pine gene stability inheritance project. In Dongyang, we have both the funds and the capability to make this project a success. If you hand the results of this project to our corporation, I believe it won’t be long before the project grows and prospers, enabling Asia and even the whole world to buy angelfish bred by our company.”

Hearing this, Huo Sining couldn’t help but curl his lips in disdain.

She had previously interacted with Hattori Masano, the vice-president of the same corporation, during the fighting fish tournament. When their deal didn’t go through, he tried to play dirty, attempting to ruin her koi carp, so she didn’t have a good impression of the people from Dongyang.

Now here was Watanabe Yasu, appearing much like a righteous crusader espousing high-sounding ideals, as if whatever he was going to do next was for the benefit of mankind, oblivious to the fact that his act of stealing others’ results was fundamentally flawed.

Zhu Xingwang, on the other hand, seemed not to care at all and nodded eagerly as though he strongly agreed:

”President Watanabe, your idea is very good, I have no objections. Make me an offer, as long as the price is right, I will sell the results of this project to you.”

Watanabe Yasu looked around the room and then said, ”The price is negotiable, but Professor Zhu, it seems that you didn’t intend to show much sincerity today. I’ve come all this way, yet it seems like you haven’t made the necessary preparations.”

When Watanabe Yasu didn’t see anything in the room, not even a German Red Pine sample, he couldn’t help but suspect Zhu Xingwang was playing him.

Once the interpreter relayed Watanabe’s words, Zhu Xingwang immediately laughed, ”President Watanabe, you’ve misunderstood. I won’t hide it from you; I didn’t obtain those items through proper channels, so I have to be a bit cautious. Let’s talk about the price first—everything can be discussed once the price is right.”

Watanabe Yasu was somewhat surprised, but he wasn’t foolish. After hearing Zhu Xingwang’s words, he caught on immediately and smiled, ”Professor Zhu, such caution and prudence in your actions indeed show you are a clever and steady man. I enjoy dealing with intelligent people. Since that’s the case, I’ll make you this offer—what do you think?”

Watanabe Yasu then made a gesture to Zhu Xingwang with his hand.
