The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Wei Qin was already much better; now she could even help Ms. Lin with some simple chores.

Especially during the period when Xu Zhensheng was recuperating from his injuries, Wei Qin had been constantly comforting Ms. Lin.

Shu Yu let her stay a few more days with the Xu Family; once everything was settled, they would be able to return to Dongan Province.

Wei Qin was very much looking forward to this; she dearly wanted to see her son as soon as possible.

Shu Yu didn’t stay long in Righteous Dao Village. After Ma Lu made a quick trip home, he set off with her again, returning to the Cheng Family in Hetai Prefecture.

Another half month later, the turmoil in the southwest gradually died down. General Shen once again took command of the troops stationed in the southwest; the Deputy General was executed, and after failing to resist, Liu Jie died in order to save Yuan Ye.

As for Yuan Ye, seeing that there was no more hope, he burst into tears on the spot, begging Qi Lie for mercy, completely spineless.

Meng Yunzheng looked at him and only felt he was an eyesore.

This descendant of the Gong Family truly was worse with each generation. Fortunately, he took after his mother and grew up in the Meng family.

Meng Yunzheng did not concern himself further with what followed. The southwest was not like Changjin Prefecture; in Changjin Prefecture both the magistrate and the County Magistrate had rebelled, while the southwest still had Lord Cheng holding the fort.

On top of that, Qi Lie had brought quite a number of men this time, so there was no need for Meng Yunzheng to handle the aftermath.

He had already been away for more than a month, and he was impatient to return and see his own wife.

After they returned to the Cheng Family, only then did Shu Yu and Meng Yunzheng find the time to formally pay their respects to the Dongqing Temple master, their master.

The Dongqing Temple master didn’t say much, she simply gave the two of them specially made safety talismans.

”The two of you are a heaven-sent match. As long as you support each other hand in hand, honor and respect each other, you will naturally stay together till old age and live a smooth life. Yu, your fate with your master is shallow; there won’t be many chances to meet again in the future. You don’t need to worry about your master—if there’s an opportunity, I will go to Dongan Province to visit you.”

After speaking, she took out a safety lock. ”This is a gift prepared in advance for your child.”

Shu Yu was stunned for a moment, then took the safety lock. ”Thank you, Master.”

”I will be leaving tomorrow. From now on, you must take good care of yourselves.”

”You’re leaving tomorrow? Master, where are you going?”

The Dongqing Temple master let out a sigh. ”I came this time for the sake of a fellow cultivator. He disappeared at the end of last year, and with no news for so long, I must go and look for him.”

”If Master is going to look for someone, I can help.”

”No need. This is my own matter. Once you’ve finished your business in the southwest, just return to Dongan Province as soon as possible.”

The Dongqing Temple master declined Shu Yu’s goodwill. Early the next morning, she packed her simple belongings and left the Cheng Family, leaving Hetai Prefecture.

Shu Yu and Meng Yunzheng saw her out of the city, and only when her figure completely disappeared from sight did they withdraw their gazes.

Shu Yu lowered her eyes to the safety lock in her hand. ”I don’t know, after parting today, when we’ll have the chance to meet again.”

”Didn’t Master say so? When she returns to Dongan Province. Speaking of which, Master hasn’t gone back for years. I think once she finishes her matters in the southwest this time, she’ll definitely go back for a visit.”

After all, the Dongqing Temple was still there.

Shu Yu thought it over and felt that made sense. ”Let’s go back.”

The two of them turned around and headed back into the city.

”What are you planning to do next?”

”I’m thinking of looking at some shops. If there’s a suitable one, I’ll sell melon seeds and sunflower oil here.”

Meng Yunzheng chuckled. ”You really mean to open a shop in every place you go, determined to spread Lu’s all over Dasu?”

”That’s right. I’m going to become the number one rich woman in Dasu.”

Meng Yunzheng raised his brows. ”That ambition is quite grand.”
