The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Aunt Hong refused, Little Song Le looked confused, lying on her knee, raised his head and asked, ”Why isn’t Aunt going? Aunt’s shop is very good, lots of people are eager to go.”

Aunt Hong smiled and patted his head, yes, lots of people are eager to go, but she knew Lady Lu was taking care of her.

”Of course Aunt wants to go, but Aunt’s cooking skills aren’t good, I’ve grown used to being stingy with oil and salt for decades, the dishes I make aren’t tasty. By then, if the shopkeeper and staff don’t like it because I’m your Aunt, they’d feel embarrassed to say so, wouldn’t that cause trouble for your Aunt? Moreover, Aunt has a lot to do at home, really can’t spare the time.”

Besides, if she goes to work at the shop, her sons and daughters might let the kids go there to mooch food. They wouldn’t think this would bother Aunt Hong; they would just see it as Cousin Aunt Gouwa’s shop, family, even if something happens, the shopkeeper and staff wouldn’t dare say anything to them.

Little Song Le felt intuitively that Aunt Hong’s words seemed wrong, but they also made sense.

As a child, he couldn’t understand Aunt Hong’s intentions, but Shu Yu knew that what she said were just excuses.

However, since Aunt Hong thought it over and still refused, Shu Yu didn’t insist, ”Since Aunt won’t go, I’ll find someone else.”

Although Aunt Hong felt a bit regretful, she nodded, ”If Lady Lu can’t find someone suitable, come back to me, I can introduce someone.”

”Alright.”

Aunt Hong saw she had no more to say, so she knew there must be another choice in her mind.

She came to find herself indeed to take care of her.

To be honest, this was for Little Song Le. Future Cousin Aunt Gouwa was so good to him, Aunt Hong felt even happier.

The two exchanged a few more words, and Shu Yu got up to bid farewell.

Aunt Hong didn’t ask her to stay, as her daughter-in-law would soon return with a few kids, and if they saw Lady Lu, they’d probably cling to her.

She escorted Shu Yu to the door, reminding Little Song Le to listen well to Cousin Uncle and Aunt, and to visit him when she had the time.

Little Song Le obediently nodded, stuffing some of the snacks he carried into Aunt Hong’s hands.

Aunt Hong thought these things were just items from Lady Lu’s shop, so she didn’t refuse, after accepting, she quickly went to the yard to pick some vegetables and handed them over.

”They’re all homegrown, taste good, and I’ll deliver them next time.”

Shu Yu thought for a moment and said, ”Although Aunt won’t go to my shop, Aunt’s vegetables are quite good. After the shop opens, I’ll have someone come and buy them from you.”

Aunt Hong waved, ”No need to come, I’ll deliver directly to Futai Street.”

”That works too.” Shu Yu laughed, ”My shop is called ’Lu’s’, opening in five days, come by then to join the crowd? It’s a good chance to know the place, and if we leave the Capital, if you have anything, you can go to the shop to find the shopkeeper for help.”

”Okay.” Aunt Hong immediately perked up, with Lady Lu’s shop here, she no longer had to spend sleepless nights in the past three years worrying, not knowing how Gouwa was doing. Later, she could borrow someone to write a letter and entrust the shop’s delivery person to bring it to Gouwa.

While talking, Ying Xi also brought the carriage over.

Shu Yu was about to help Little Song Le onto the carriage, but suddenly paused, abruptly turning her head to catch a fleeting shadow, ”Who?”
