The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

After sending Meng Yunzheng into the examination hall, Shu Yu went straight to the Yao Family.

However, Yao Tianqin is currently working at the Ministry of Industry, and recently, due to the Imperial Examination, the imperial court is quite busy. Although the Ministry of Rites is responsible for the examination, other departments have also been mobilized to prevent any incidents during the examination period.

Yao Tianqin is not only currently away from home, but it also seems he might not come back home at night in the coming days.

As for Yao Po, he has been studying at the Imperial College for the past few years and participated in the provincial examination last year. Unfortunately, he has been delayed in the southwest for five or six years, and his talent in studying is not as remarkable as Meng Yunzheng’s. Moreover, the competition in the capital is much fiercer than in other places, so sadly, he failed the examination and can only wait to take it again next time.

He’s not at home either, with only Madam Yao, her daughter-in-law, and their little grandson who is just over two years old at home.

Luckily, Madam Yao is still acquainted with some skilled craftsmen, and she can introduce a couple to Shu Yu.

Following the address given by Madam Yao, Shu Yu went to inquire about the prices and checked their craftsmanship, eventually choosing a Craftsman Ding who is relatively close to Futai Street.

Craftsman Ding is meticulous in his work, and most importantly, he happens to be available now and can start repairing the store for her in a couple of days.

Shu Yu finalized the date with Craftsman Ding and, when leaving his home, it was still early, just past noon.

Since she wasn’t far from Futai Street, Shu Yu decided to go and have a look.

Today is already the third day; Cen Yi promised that she would vacate the store within three days, so Shu Yu wasn’t sure how things were progressing now.

Shu Yu headed straight to the makeup products store with Ying Xi. As soon as she reached the entrance, she noticed that it was bustling, a stark contrast to the eerily quiet scene from a few days ago.

At the door, Shu Yu saw a staff member, who was greeting passersby while saying, ”It’s the last day! Our store’s last day is today. All makeup products are on sale. Don’t miss out as you pass by.”

This staff member was unfamiliar to Shu Yu, as she hadn’t seen him during her previous visits; he was likely someone Cen Yi brought in to help.

Consequently, the staff member didn’t recognize Shu Yu. Seeing them pause at the door, he quickly came forward to invite them, ”Miss, would you like to come inside and have a look? Our store’s makeup products are top-notch. Now the boss is closing down, so everything is on sale.”

Before Shu Yu could speak, a man nearby walked over and asked, ”Your store is closing? Is the store for rent or sale?”

The staff member seemed to have encountered several people asking this question, and with skilled yet resigned familiarity, he said, ”I’m sorry, the store has already changed ownership. What the future boss will do, I’m not quite sure.”

The man seemed disappointed, glanced up at the two-story store, sighed, and walked away.

Shu Yu smiled and, following the staff’s guidance, entered the store.

Compared to the bustling scene outside, there were more people inside, clustered in small groups discussing the purchase of makeup boxes.

The store had several more staff members, but Shu Yu did not see the insider who was secretly working against the store, suggesting that Cen Yi had likely dealt with them.

Manager Fang spotted her and quickly hurried over to greet her.

He remembered Shu Yu vividly; she had purchased a large package of goods and was personally brought by the boss. With her good looks, she was naturally unforgettable.

Especially after the boss told him that she was the Wen’an County Lord who bought their store, Manager Fang was even more astounded.

Now, on the third day of the clearance sale, Manager Fang assumed she had come to urge the staff.
