The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

After looking at the rear courtyard, Shu Yu was quite satisfied.

Cen Yi then leisurely guided her upstairs to the second floor, which was different from the first floor as it had private rooms.

They were similar to the separate elegant rooms in the rear courtyard of Yiren Pavilion, used for receiving distinguished guests. However, there weren’t many people in the shop at the moment, so the rooms appeared quite deserted.

There was staff on the second floor as well, but the staff here were women, only two of them, adorned with ornate makeup, smiling gently and standing politely at the entrance.

Shu Yu felt a bit regretful; she should have brought her elder sister today. Even though her sister’s Yiren Pavilion sold clothes, it had a certain similarity to here.

The private room featured full-length mirrors and a variety of beautifully packaged makeup products.

Shu Yu picked up a few to look at, and Cen Yi immediately had someone pack them up for her.

Shu Yu, ”...”

She shook her head, ”No need; I have plenty of makeup products at home.” Many of them were even made by herself, and compared to these, she felt more assured using her own.

Seeing her putting the items down, Cen Yi waved her hand, signaling the two female staff to leave.

Realizing there were only a few of them present, Cen Yi finally said, ”Anyway, this shop won’t last long. The makeup products here are either to be sold cheaply or given away. The makeup products on the second floor are quite good; I use them myself regularly. When business was good, many government lady clients from the capital used them as well; the quality is definitely reliable.”

This was something Shu Yu could still believe.

She considered for a moment; although she might not necessarily need them herself,

Yiren Pavilion could indeed use them, and since these are high-quality goods from the capital, there would definitely be many people pleased to receive them as gifts.

Shu Yu then nodded, ”I will select some to take away and gift them later. But I intend to buy them; how about giving me a discount?”

Cen Yi was stunned, then shook her head, ”I’ll just give them to you...”

The nanny pulled at her sleeve slightly, ”Miss, let’s just sell them to County Lord Lu at cost price.”

Cen Yi was willing to listen to the nanny, and upon hearing this, she nodded, ”Alright.”

Shu Yu then proceeded to select items on the second floor, with Cen Yi following behind her. Originally, she thought Shu Yu would choose based on the packaging, but unexpectedly, she took out the samples to look and smell them purposefully before selecting.

Some boxes catered to more mature, dignified noblewomen, so their packaging wasn’t very exquisite, sometimes even dull. Surprisingly, Shu Yu picked these unsightly yet not cheap makeup products with certainty.

Prior to this, Cen Yi didn’t know much about Shu Yu, but through this matter, she suddenly understood that Shu Yu was not the kind of uncouth girl from the countryside she had heard about.

After Shu Yu finished selecting, she put the items aside to package them later.

Then she sat down in the private room and formally began discussing the transaction with Cen Yi.

”What is the price of this shop?”

Cen Yi raised her head, ”This shop has a good location, and it’s two stories; you’ve just seen it, the space is certainly big enough. According to the prices on Futai Street, it’s roughly around six thousand taels.”

Shu Yu nodded, indeed roughly that price; she had inquired with the intermediary before.

In fact, the price Cen Yi offered was relatively low; six thousand taels for other shops on Futai Street was normal, but her shop could be sold for seven thousand taels too.

Cen Yi said, ”If you introduce Doctor Zhao, I’ll agree to give you a slightly cheaper price. If you like, I can sell it to you for five thousand taels. Of course, you can continue to bargain.”
