The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Hearing his words, Shu Yu felt a little proud, ”So this counts as my contribution?”

”Of course.”

Shu Yu was happy, as the two of them walked further inside, the mountain grew even more quiet.

After all, it was winter, many animals were hibernating, and it’s rare to come across wild chickens or rabbits.

However, as they walked, Shu Yu suddenly felt something amiss.

She looked suspiciously at the man beside her, and asked curiously, ”You seem to be walking with a purpose.”

”Hmm? You noticed so soon?”

It really was true, Shu Yu raised an eyebrow, ”So saying you were taking me out to hide was just an excuse? Where are you taking me?”

”Not exactly an excuse, just half the reason. As for where... you’ll know in a bit.”

He’s keeping it a mystery.

Since that was the case, Shu Yu didn’t ask further, but the path seemed unusually long.

Shu Yu’s forehead was already sweating, and her whole body felt warm.

Meng Yunzheng stopped, ”Do you want to rest for a bit?”

”No, let’s keep going.” Honestly, she had been into the mountains a few times, but it seemed she had never been to this area before. Walking further, it was no longer the outskirts of the mountain.

Meng Yunzheng squatted down in front of her, ”Hop on.”

”I can walk by myself.”

”A free porter and you won’t take advantage? Don’t worry, there’s no one else here, Ying Xi and Xia Yan are far away, no one will see us.”

Shu Yu, ”...” Was that what she was worried about? She was afraid he would get tired.

But thinking of his daily martial arts practice, he was indeed different from the outward appearance of a weak scholar, so she didn’t hold back, leaned onto him, hugged his neck and exclaimed, ”Let’s go.”

Meng Yunzheng chuckled lightly, stood up straight, and continued walking easily.

Xia Yan and Ying Xi, ’not far away’, exchanged glances, watching their master who seemed to completely ignore them, sighed.

This time Shu Yu felt comfortable, she even had the leisure to look around, ”It seems very few people come here, look over there, there’s actually a hawthorn tree.”

If anyone had passed by, the hawthorns on the tree would have been picked clean.

”Indeed, no one comes here.”

As they spoke, Meng Yunzheng finally halted his steps.

Shu Yu, who had been looking around, lowered her gaze and asked, ”Why did you stop, have we...”

Before she finished speaking, she was stunned looking straight ahead, disbelief all over her face, ”Here, why are there so many flowers?”

Before her was a small valley, not very large, but inside were all wildflowers.

The wildflowers weren’t the issue, the problem was that it was deep winter, many flowers not meant to bloom in this season were crowded together, filling the valley, so beautiful it seemed unreal, like another world.

Meng Yunzheng put her down, ”Do you like it?”

”I love it, it’s so beautiful!”

Meng Yunzheng said, ”Before the New Year, Zhao Xi wanted to come into the mountains to gather herbs, and asked me to accompany him. That’s when I discovered this valley different from others.”

”How are these flowers thriving so well?”

”Don’t you feel something different here?”

Shu Yu was taken aback, calming down to feel, and indeed noticed the temperature here seemed higher, much warmer. Even though she had been on Meng Yunzheng’s back the whole time, without moving, she still broke a sweat from the heat.

Meng Yunzheng saw her realize, and said, ”Near this valley, there should be a hot spring underground.”
