The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

After pondering for a moment, Shu Yu stood up, ”If that’s the case, why don’t we go and take a look at the shop first.”

Cen Yi was taken aback and instinctively stood up to follow, asking in surprise, ”Go now?”

Shu Yu’s face showed an expression of ’naturally’, ”Time is money, the sooner we see it, the sooner we can complete the transaction. I think Young Madam Zhou would also want to see the doctor quickly.”

Cen Yi immediately nodded, ”Alright, let’s go then.”

Without further delay, they set off, and Shu Yu even went back to her room to grab the silver notes with the intention of purchasing it on the spot if it suited her.

Upon leaving, Cen Yi was directly helped onto the carriage by the nanny.

Shu Yu, however, lagged a step behind, then turned her head to look toward the corner direction. Ying Xi also looked over, and the two exchanged glances.

Madam Hou saw the two stop and asked curiously, ”What’s wrong?”

Shu Yu shook her head, saying nothing.

Indeed, someone was watching Cen Yi. I wonder who holds such a grudge against her, even going so far as to follow her when she leaves the house.

Suppressing her inner thoughts, she quickly boarded the carriage.

Madam Hou was accompanying them; she seldom went out. She was a concubine, and the main wives disdained associating with her. As for other families’ concubines, they certainly had no free permission to leave the mansion.

Thus, unless necessary, Madam Hou rarely left the Wan Family. Her biggest leisure was gathering gossip and tidbits about the Capital, just listening to the lively tales.

Now that she had the chance, she certainly wanted to join in the fun.

The group was traveling together in the same carriage, and inside it was very quiet.

It wasn’t long before they arrived at Futai Street, where the noise came rushing to their ears upon entering the street.

Madam Hou lifted the curtain of the carriage and whispered, ”It’s indeed bustling here.” If Yu’s shop opened here, it surely wouldn’t fail to make a profit.

Shu Yu had been around Futai Street before, and she even knew where Cen Yi’s makeup products shop was.

”Here we are.” After passing three or four shops, they arrived at Cen Yi’s establishment.

From the outside, the shop was large, with two floors and decorated exquisitely. Clearly aiming for the high-end market.

At least, common folk passing by would hesitate to step inside a shop like this.

Shu Yu glanced at the entrance for a couple of moments before moving past it to follow Cen Yi inside.

Compared to the outside hustle, the inside of the shop was much quieter. Only one customer was browsing, and the intention to buy makeup products didn’t seem strong.

Seeing them enter, the shopkeeper promptly greeted them, momentarily stunned upon recognizing the boss.

Cen Yi motioned with her hand, ”You go ahead and continue your work, I’ve brought my friends for a look.”

”Alright, boss.”

The shopkeeper left, and Cen Yi led Shu Yu towards the backyard.

The arrangement in the front of the shop was straightforward, and Shu Yu quickly surveyed it before the group went directly to the backyard, which they found to be quite spacious.

In Futai Street, having such a shop showed that the Marquis Yongchang Mansion was indeed prominent back in the day.

Shu Yu took a walk around the backyard, finding everything else agreeable, the backyard being beautifully maintained, with five or six rooms, and a centrally located well, creating much convenience.

The kitchen and toilet were clean and quite large.

The only aspect Shu Yu found dissatisfying was the storage room, which was too small.

However, as makeup products don’t require much space and some are not intended for long storage, the inventory wasn’t large.

If possible, the neighboring room should be opened up, so the storage room would be adequate for their use.
