The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Otherwise, how could a little child have three taels of silver on him?

Shu Yu was taken aback, looking at the clothes in her arms, feeling both amused and helpless.

She handed the clothes back to Aunt Hong, ”Lele specifically bought this for you with his own money. He carefully picked it out for a long time, holding it tightly all the way here. If you don’t accept it, Lele would be heartbroken.”

”This, this...” Aunt Hong looked at the little fellow.

Little Song Le nodded vigorously, ”I’m afraid Aunt might be cold. If you don’t wear it, my intention won’t be conveyed. I want you to wear it, so whenever you see this outfit, you’ll think of me.”

His little mouth chattered on, but his words were warm and well-intentioned, making Aunt Hong’s eyes sting with emotion.

Hmm?

Wait a minute...

Aunt Hong’s eyes suddenly widened, ”Gouwa, you can speak now?”

Indeed, he just called me aunt, speaking without any hindrance, his voice clear and slightly childish.

Aunt Hong was so immersed in the joy of seeing him that she didn’t even realize at first. But now, hearing him chatter away, she finally noticed something was different.

Back when he was two and a half, Gouwa couldn’t say a word. Now he’s speaking so fluently?

Aunt Hong looked at Shu Yu with surprise, and the latter smiled, ”Yes, he can talk. We had him checked by a doctor. The doctor said there’s nothing wrong with his throat, and with a bit of practice, he’ll be fine.”

She didn’t mention that Little Song Le had been traumatized when he was with the Hong Family, which made him reluctant to speak.

Otherwise, Aunt Hong would definitely feel guilty.

Ms. Yu, standing at the door, pursed her lips. She had thought Gouwa’s issues were due to his father being mentally challenged, assuming the child also had defects.

Aunt Hong was overjoyed, ”Good, good, it’s his blessing to be with you guys. Look at how clearly and smoothly he speaks now, even better than those older kids.”

Little Song Le said with a smile, ”Aunt, not only can I speak fluently, but I can also recite texts.”

”Recite texts?”

”Yes, my cousin started teaching me to read and recognize characters the year before last, and last year, they sent me to school to start reading. I can already recite the Three Character Classic now. Aunt, do you want to hear it? I’ll recite it for you.”

Aunt Hong was thrilled, thinking Gouwa was just living a good life, eating well, dressing warmly, and having medicine when sick. She never expected he’d be able to study and be sent to school so early.

She nodded repeatedly, ”Yes, yes.”

Little Song Le placed his hands behind his back, cleared his throat, and started reciting, swaying his head as he did.

Shu Yu, ”...” Is this really how your teacher at school teaches you? Doesn’t your head spin?

But Aunt Hong listened with great pleasure. Although she couldn’t understand, it didn’t prevent her from knowing how remarkable Little Song Le was. Look, in just a year, he managed to memorize the entire Three Character Classic.

People outside were also listening in amazement, this Gouwa really was turning his life around.

It’s a pity though, if only his father, Song Dazhuang, had met this cousin-in-law a few years earlier, perhaps Song Dazhuang’s illness could have been treated, and life would have been better.

After reciting, Little Song Le looked at Aunt Hong with anticipation, and she clapped her hands, ”Amazing, you’ve memorized it all.”

”Yes, I’ll work hard to study and become the top scorer in the future.”

Aunt Hong laughed heartily, ”Good, then aunt will wait for you to become the top scorer, riding on horseback through the streets gloriously.”

After several exchanges, the estrangement of not seeing each other for three years had dissipated. Little Song Le was no longer nervous, and the two of them became more and more in tune with each other as they talked.
