The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Speaking of this, Ms. Kang leaned forward, ”You’re still asking? I heard that you had a child before getting married, which shocked me so much that I quickly came over to ask about the situation.”

Shu Yu took a sip of tea, and before she could swallow it, she was so startled by this statement that she almost spat it out.

She looked at Ms. Kang in astonishment, coughed twice, ”What did you just say? Who had a child before getting married?”

Even Meng Yunzheng, who was beside her, looked at Ms. Kang with a face full of surprise.

Ms. Kang looked at them speechlessly, ”Of course, it’s you two.”

She started from the beginning, ”Today was the old woman’s birthday at Lord Wu’s house. I went as a guest with Mother, and during the banquet, while chatting with a few Madams, we suddenly started talking about Young Master Meng. Then that young lady from Uncle’s Mansion said that Young Master Meng already had a child, and despite not being married, his fiancée gave birth to a son for him. And that child and Young Master Meng’s fiancée look like they were carved from the same mold.”

Shu Yu, ”...”

Meng Yunzheng, ”...”

Huh?

Ms. Kang said, ”As soon as I heard it, I felt something was off. Young Master Meng’s fiancée, isn’t that you? But I haven’t heard anything about you having a child, so how did that young lady from Uncle’s Mansion come to spread such a rumor? As soon as the birthday banquet ended, I hurried over. Yu, tell me, what’s going on? Where did this son come from?”

Shu Yu rubbed her forehead, thinking to herself, yesterday the servant from Uncle’s Mansion had an odd look in his eyes when he saw her, as if his brain was waterlogged.

In this day and age, spreading rumors isn’t illegal, right?

Just as she was thinking this, giggles suddenly came from outside.

Shu Yu said to Ms. Kang, ”My son... Look, here he comes now.”

She pointed outside the living room, and Ms. Kang instinctively turned her head to see Shuyou coming in with Little Huohuo in her arms.

The two of them locked eyes, both stunned, and then spoke hesitantly.

”Sister-in-law?”

”Daya?... No, no, I should call you Ah You now.”

They hadn’t seen each other for over four years, and both had changed quite a bit. Back in the exile area, even without worrying about food and clothing, their complexions weren’t so good, unlike now when life was comfortable and they had servants to attend to them. Especially after both having children, their figures were no longer the thin and weak ones they once were.

Shuyou was very happy, ”Sister-in-law, why are you here? I was planning to visit you tomorrow.”

Ms. Kang hadn’t yet responded when Shu Yu had already taken Little Huohuo over and pointed at him, saying to Ms. Kang, ”Look, this is my son. Doesn’t he look like he’s carved from the same mold as me?”

Shuyou looked puzzled, and Ms. Kang was quite helpless. Previously unclear, now upon seeing Shuyou holding the child, what was there left to not understand? She knew Shuyou had a child, it must be this little guy.

But Zhao Xi, who came in later carrying big and small bags, was quite displeased, ”What do you mean your son? This is my son.”

Shu Yu ignored him, holding Little Huohuo’s hand to greet Ms. Kang, ”Come, call her Aunt.”

”Aunt?” Little Huohuo tilted his head, curiously looking at Ms. Kang.

Seeing this, Ms. Kang was very fond of him. She looked at herself briefly, realizing she came in a hurry and hadn’t prepared anything, having only a pouch.

The pouch contained two gold ingots, which were given to her son by others when she took him out.

At this moment, she gave both gold ingots to Little Huohuo. Shuyou didn’t refuse, since she was going to the Yao Family tomorrow and would prepare gifts for the child then.
