Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 2940: Chapter 2041: Media Storm (Part 2)

”Chairman Xuanyu, you have been incredibly kind to me! Everything you’ve done for me is etched in my heart! From now on, I will be your unwavering supporter at headquarters and the loyal executor of all your decisions!”

Vice Chairman Morgan was deeply moved, expressing his loyalty while touching his chest.

”You must be exhausted today, go home and rest early.” Bai Xuanyu comforted with a smile and then sighed lightly, ”I also need to deal with some matters regarding Miss Caroline. If I had returned earlier, such a tragic incident might not have happened...”

Vice Chairman Morgan nodded continuously, appearing submissive, then turned and left.

Seeing his slightly stooped back and his steps somewhat matching the aging.

Bai Xuanyu watched Vice Chairman Morgan leave his office, his expression becoming somewhat flickering.

He was not truly blind to what had transpired.

Even if blinded, seeing the resoluteness of the crowd and Vice Chairman Morgan’s face he had never shown before, it’s clear that Vice Chairman Morgan must have committed something huge and indisputable.

”If not for the moment, I wouldn’t protect you either!” Bai Xuanyu narrowed his eyes slightly, murmured softly, then shook his head to push thoughts of Vice Chairman Morgan aside, and returned to his desk.

Now, handling the matter of Caroline and dealing with external media is what he should focus on.

Such a major issue, relying solely on the PR department isn’t enough, he needs to handle it personally!

On the other side, after leaving Bai Xuanyu’s office, Vice Chairman Morgan regained his stance, closed the door and his demeanor transformed into one of deep contemplation.

Vice Chairman Morgan glanced back at the door behind him and silently walked away.

The current situation is unclear, and he doesn’t know to what extent Bai Xuanyu’s support for him will hold.

Of course, he also knows Bai Xuanyu is not truly protecting him, but the group itself.

This can be greatly exploited!

Since Bai Xuanyu’s resolve in supporting him is uncertain, it’s unwise to immediately eliminate evidence and witnesses.

However, not acting doesn’t mean he can’t plan ahead. Once the timing is right, he can implement his plans instantly.

”Margery, along with other bastards, dared to oppose me, dared to think of destroying me! When the time comes, I’ll make you disappear from this world!” Vice Chairman Morgan thought with resentment.

However, he also knows that venting frustration might not be feasible before the decision-making conference that determines his fate.

Doing so too openly might even cause Bai Xuanyu not to protect him anymore.

Right now, the urgent task isn’t trying to eliminate evidence, but employing all means and possibilities to win over two of the vice chairmen!

With five vice chairmen, as long as two disagree with his disposition, or even mitigate the penalties, there is hope!

Although Bai Xuanyu also said he would help in this regard, it is more reassuring to take action personally.

At least, it’s a double layer of insurance!

...

That day, various news about the North American business president of Zhenbei Group, Caroline’s fall, swept the front pages of major media outlets.

As a world-class conglomerate, any news about Zhenbei Group is a target for media and journalists, especially such explosive news.

Caroline, the president of North American business, can be considered a high-level executive, a major figure. Even if the event was truly accidental, it can be interpreted with conspiratorial undertones, not to mention there are actual inside stories.

Vice Chairman Morgan also took this opportunity to secretly spread information.

He knows that the larger the commotion, the less Bai Xuanyu wants him to face further issues.

Moreover, this wave of public opinion can create significant trouble and pressure for Bai Xiaosheng and Wen Yan, making it difficult for them to communicate with other vice chairmen...

Thus, the media was overwhelmed with a diverse array of news, pointing not only at the group but at specific individuals.

”Wen Yan, head of the Zhenbei Group’s Supervisory Department, Bai Xiaosheng disregarded the facts, deliberately framed, North American business president Caroline jumped in anger to clear her name...”

”The beauty executive leaps, tearing off the cover of a superpower, internal high-level faction fights are not a day’s work, the culprit Bai Xiaosheng, what background does Wen Yan have...”

”Will the Zhenbei Group executive’s jumping incident trigger a stock market leap, involving executive Bai Xiaosheng or a ’spy’ from rival companies?!”

...

Countless messages and voices, like a tide overwhelming previous waves, flooded the scene, even with Zhenbei Group’s large public relations team, it was tough to handle.

Fortunately, Bai Xuanyu had already planned the response meticulously, keeping the flood of public opinion at the dyke line.

In this public opinion battle, Bai Xiaosheng and Wen Yan also joined two press conferences organized by the group that day, and it was conveyed to them that there were several more scheduled for the following day, keeping them busy.

That night, Bai Xiaosheng had a phone call with Robert.

On the call, both men were silent for an extended period.

It was due to this phone call that Bai Xiaosheng learned Caroline had sent a message to Robert before her fall.

In the message, Caroline mentioned she didn’t hate her brother, even praised his newfound courage and foresight.

Caroline also mentioned Bai Xiaosheng, saying she didn’t resent this opponent.

Caroline finally advised Robert to make sure to demand more interests from Bai Xiaosheng.

Everything, for the family.

Bai Xiaosheng was deeply moved, this woman was truly extraordinary.

”If I knew it would end like this, I’m wondering if the path I chose from the beginning was wrong.” Robert’s voice was filled with sadness.

”What’s your situation there?” Bai Xiaosheng asked softly.

This time, Robert stood to testify against Caroline, like the last straw breaking the camel’s back, and the weight of this straw was immense.

Not to mention, he was Caroline’s own brother.

After a brief silence, Robert replied, ”A death showed me what individuals mean to a family. My clansmen are enraged, not saddened by Caroline’s death but because the Clan Leader easily accepted your group’s so-called ’compensation’, without further striving for more. Caroline used to act decisively, everyone in front of her assumed a respectful posture, turns out there was more fear than familial ties or respect. Now that she’s dead, truly saddened people are few, including my father. I finally see how sometimes affection can be so thin. The only one who fainted from crying was our mother.”

”Spend more time with the elder.” Bai Xiaosheng said softly.

Robert sighed, ”She probably wants to see me the least.”

The two fell into silence again.

After a long while, Robert finally said, ”Besides my mother, others, including my father, felt I aided Zhenbei Group, and now our family’s ’long-term friendship’ duty with your group rests on me, my future as Clan Leader is highly praised. How ironic!”

Bai Xiaosheng didn’t want to judge other people’s family matters, speaking softly, ”Caroline, when is she being buried? I want to pay my respects.”

”Better not, I fear it would be too much for my mother.” Robert said, ”I’ll take you over in the future when there’s a chance, your heart is enough.”

After a moment of silence, Robert added, ”Bai Xiaosheng, I think Caroline said something truly heartfelt.”

Bai Xiaosheng listened.

”She actually didn’t hate you.”

...

The next day, Bai Xiaosheng and Wen Yan attended four press conferences in the morning and afternoon, exhausted by the questions.

That evening, Bai Xuanyu sent a message through someone.

After consulting with several vice chairmen, a closed-door meeting of seven vice chairmen is scheduled for the next afternoon.

At that time, the final fate of Vice Chairman Morgan will be decided.

The messenger also conveyed Bai Xuanyu’s other arrangement, there are two more press conferences awaiting Bai Xiaosheng and Wen Yan the following morning...
