Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 2921: Chapter 2032: Welcome Banquet

”Bai Xiaosheng, has he returned!” Vice Chairman Morgan leaned back in the large chair in his office, a cigar in his mouth, and asked Caroline, who sat opposite him.

”The flight arrived at ten this morning, and a quarter of an hour ago, someone saw him at the hospital.”

Caroline said, ”He must have rushed over right after getting off the plane.”

”The hospital?” Vice Chairman Morgan sneered as he took down his cigar, ”He went to see Lu Cheng’an? Ha, how thoughtful!”

Earlier, he and Caroline had also made a symbolic visit to the hospital, mainly to check on Lu Cheng’an’s condition, even arranging staff there to keep an eye on things.

”Certainly thoughtful, after all, Lu Cheng’an is one of his supporters at the group headquarters.” Caroline smiled and said, ”This time, Bai Xiaosheng successfully completed the group’s difficult assignment and returned. These days, everyone at headquarters has been praising him non-stop, the compliments are making my ears grow calluses. He certainly has gained both fame and recognition this time, overshadowing other business presidents!”

As Caroline mentioned this, even a hint of subtle admiration slipped through her eyes.

Initially, when Bai Xiaosheng took on the task given by acting chairman Bai Xuanyu, over eighty percent of the people at group headquarters did not think highly of him, with many believing he would never be able to complete it, including herself and Vice Chairman Morgan who hoped it would be a quagmire trapping him.

But unexpectedly, Bai Xiaosheng showcased extraordinary drive and ability, not only completing all tasks but finishing half a week early!

Thinking about it, it certainly seems quite incredible!

If only someone like him were on our side, how wonderful that would be!

Caroline couldn’t help but sigh in her heart.

But she also knew that someone of such capability could never be subdued under them!

Ultimately, such talent will grow into a significant trouble!

Since that is the case, the only option is to ruin him!

”I hear that someone at headquarters is spreading the word that advancing him another level wouldn’t be excessive, even suggesting he could become a Vice Chairman?” Vice Chairman Morgan frowned as he looked at Caroline and asked.

Caroline collected herself and nodded, ”Indeed, even Lu Cheng’an has said similar things.”

”So, that old thing ended up in the hospital!”

Vice Chairman Morgan huffed, ”The old man truly has lost his mind, to elevate a young kid like this! Vice Chairman, is he qualified? If anyone dares propose such an absurd idea at a high-level meeting, I’d be the first to curse them out!”

Caroline chuckled and said, ”The current issue isn’t about what reward Bai Xiaosheng will get upon returning. Rather, he has come armed—”

”With his target set on us!”

Caroline had naturally learned that Bai Xiaosheng had been extensively investigating Kaleb before returning.

Kaleb was one of Vice Chairman Morgan’s kin and was up for an appointment as Executive President of the Sixth Business Division.

Though Mrs. Margery counts as a reliable ally, ultimately, power shouldn’t be solely vested in that woman’s hands, some checks and balances are good.

Yet Bai Xiaosheng, right after completing the group’s assignment, immediately targeted Kaleb for investigation, boldly scrutinizing everything associated.

This is a signal!

Though Caroline firmly believed Bai Xiaosheng is using a deception tactic.

Bai Xiaosheng’s overt move surely conceals a more aggressive and ruthless trap!

But this at least indicates, that upon returning, Bai Xiaosheng’s sights are indeed on them!

”That little rascal, truly like a hyena, relentless once he fixates on us, and such a cunning, vile, and pesky hyena at that!”

As Vice Chairman Morgan cursed, he fiercely extinguished his cigar in the ashtray, repeatedly grinding it.

It seemed as though the cigar’s end was Bai Xiaosheng’s flesh and blood, performing this act felt incredibly satisfying.

”But this time, he doesn’t realize, we have laid a deadlock for him! He and Wen Yan have repeatedly caused me trouble, but once I strike, he’ll be completely destroyed, unable to recover!” Vice Chairman Morgan snarled with a vicious smile.

”With Lu Cheng’an hospitalized, is our plan unchanged?” Caroline asked.

Vice Chairman Morgan spat, ”I’ve long found that old thing Lu Cheng’an an eyesore, why would his hospitalization make me hold back!”

Caroline shrugged and said, ”I am only concerned that launching an offensive against Bai Xiaosheng at this time might invite criticism, potentially affecting your reputation.”

Hearing this, Vice Chairman Morgan sneered dismissively, not taking it to heart.

”I’ve been at Morgan for decades, never once caring about others’ criticisms. If I feared that, I wouldn’t be sitting in this position!”

With such a response, Caroline nodded, ”Since you hold no reservations, then our plan remains unchanged! Tomorrow!”

Just this morning, Mrs. Margery sent over news that preparations are complete on all fronts.

While some aspects are under Vice Chairman Morgan’s control, a significant portion still requires arrangement by Mrs. Margery.

In essence, this is the deadline given by Vice Chairman Morgan.

If not completed, Vice Chairman Morgan would indeed be furious.

Mrs. Margery explained that certain aspects were more taxing.

Though preparation time was lengthy, thankfully it was caught in time, Vice Chairman Morgan had already told Caroline this morning that gaps and deficiencies should be inspected today and then launch an attack on Bai Xiaosheng the next day to avoid prolonged uncertainty!

As a result, just after their discussion, they received news that Lu Cheng’an had suddenly taken ill and was hospitalized.
