Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 2925: Chapter 2034: The Sound of War Drums

Bai Xiaosheng chatted with Wen Yan all the way and then parted ways, heading directly back to his residence. On the way, Bai Xiaosheng called Jiang Kuo, saying he was a bit weary from the journey today, and wouldn’t be visiting friends in the Asia department, asking Jiang Kuo to convey his regards and apologies.

Nowadays, Bai Xiaosheng holds the title of Chief Executive Officer, wears multiple hats, and is currently the most celebrated achiever of the group. Yet, he still thinks of the friends in the Asia department, which deeply moved Jiang Kuo, who urged Bai Xiaosheng to rest well and adjust his time zone.

Hanging up the phone, Bai Xiaosheng was already at the door of his residence.

Besides Jiang Kuo, Bai Xiaosheng also asked Wen Yan to help greet others.

Today, he intends to shut his door to guests, fully preparing for tomorrow.

Before the impending battle, one must calm the mind, adjust the state of mind to the peak condition.

However, for Bai Xiaosheng, what he needs is not to adjust his mindset, but to quietly anticipate and consider all possible unexpected situations and plan responses for any accidents.

Opening the door and stepping inside, Bai Xiaosheng found Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying both there, each holding a laptop in the living room, silently working.

”You’re back.”

”Finished eating?”

Upon hearing the movement at the door, the two barely glanced away from their screens to greet Bai Xiaosheng before fixing their gaze back on them.

The entire process lasted no more than two seconds.

Bai Xiaosheng chuckled, walked over to refill the teapot on the coffee table with hot tea for them, and quietly put it back.

If Bai Xiaosheng is the ”brain,” responsible for planning and layout, then Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying are his ”hands and feet,” tasked with most of the crucial actions.

The ”brain” is important, but if the hands aren’t agile, and the feet aren’t diligent, everything becomes mere fantasy, inevitably achieving nothing.

Therefore, in Bai Xiaosheng’s heart, the weight of Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying has always been heavy.

Their work is also critically important!

Without further disturbing them, Bai Xiaosheng walked into his room and shut himself inside.

Unlike Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying who need to constantly monitor their computers and communicate endlessly like one person talking to dozens at once, Bai Xiaosheng’s next ”work” is simple: sit cross-legged on the bed, close his eyes to refresh, like an old monk meditating, entering into a state of contemplation.

In his mind, in a virtual world, Bai Xiaosheng faces a sky-connecting curtain, watching countless information scrolling, constantly communicating with Red Lotus to build new data models, probability analyses, thinking of any possible problems and attempting to devise several response strategies...

...

When Bai Xiaosheng opened his eyes again, the light in the room had dimmed somewhat; it was late in the day.

Bai Xiaosheng stretched, got out of bed, turned on the light, opened the door, and stepped out.

Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying were still there, but not working on their laptops. Instead, one was drinking tea and the other coffee.

”Were you waiting for me to have dinner? How long have you been waiting?” Bai Xiaosheng asked with a smile.

Lin Weiwei immediately smiled, responding, ”Not long, we just put away our laptops and started sipping coffee, just half a cup. We were just talking about when you’d come out, and here you are.”

”We’ve done everything we needed to, and can guarantee no mistakes, how’s your side?” Lei Ying asked.

”About eighty percent, many situations and variables are too many.” Bai Xiaosheng replied.

Lei Ying slapped his thigh and stood up, ”That’s about it, planning counts for humans, success counts for heaven, let’s hurry to eat, I’m starving.”

Next, the three of them went to the hotel restaurant together to feast.

After returning to the room post-meal, no one mentioned work.

All arrangements and follow-ups, since Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying said there’s no problem, Bai Xiaosheng believes there isn’t.

And for what Bai Xiaosheng has to think about, Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying know it’s only for him to plan and ponder, they can’t help.

Everything that needed preparation was meticulously done, with nothing left to suggest.

Tomorrow, only Bai Xiaosheng will truly be on the battlefield, so letting him relax in peace is better now.

The three unintentionally maintained silence, which is a tacit understanding formed over years of collaboration, needing no verbal communication.

That night, the three retired to their rooms early, resting promptly.

A quiet night.

Early the next morning, the three got up early, exercised, ran, everything was normal, not a single difference.

After breakfast, Wen Yan sent someone to invite Bai Xiaosheng over.

Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying watched Bai Xiaosheng leave, then once more holding laptops in Bai Xiaosheng’s room’s living room, standing ready.

What they can do is always maintain contact with various parties, ready for external support.

And, waiting for news, waiting for orders.

Upon arriving at Wen Yan’s office, Bai Xiaosheng saw that Wen Yan’s expression and attire both exhibited a sense of solemnity.

Apparently, he was taking it particularly seriously.

The two stayed locked in the office talking for over an hour, and once the time was almost up, they set off together to the group’s first meeting room.

Today is the monthly meeting, not every month does such a fully attended meeting occur.

On odd-numbered months, video conferencing, even-numbered months are physical meetings.

And this time is even more special because the attendance is exhaustive, even Bai Xuanyu, the acting chairman who is usually away, would be flying back.

However, according to Wen Yan, Bai Xuanyu’s flight was delayed and might miss the meeting or just catch the end of it.
