Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 2939: Chapter 2041: Storm of Public Opinion

Bai Xuanyu’s arrival has presented unprecedented challenges to holding Vice Chairman Morgan accountable.

If Caroline hadn’t fallen from the building first, perhaps Bai Xuanyu wouldn’t have intervened so forcefully.

With Caroline’s incident occurring, it’s inevitable that the group will face a massive wave of public opinion.

At this critical juncture, Bai Xuanyu certainly doesn’t want another vice chairman ousted due to scandal, as it would only fuel public opinion, with unimaginable consequences.

In tumultuous times, it’s best to prioritize resolving external public opinion and stabilizing the group’s reputation, which is Bai Xuanyu’s foremost consideration.

On the other hand, Bai Xiaosheng and Wen Yan believe the situation is already dire and won’t worsen significantly.

Once internal issues are exposed, they must be resolved swiftly and strictly without hesitation.

Missing this opportunity would provide Vice Chairman Morgan with a chance to turn the tables.

If you don’t kill the snake, you’ll get bitten, and missing the opportunity will lead to unforeseen changes.

Regarding this matter specifically, if the group shows tolerance towards Vice Chairman Morgan’s personal misconduct at such a critical moment, the impact and harm would be considerable.

If the group shows fear of individuals, it will allow them to act recklessly.

Vice Chairman Morgan is likely to leverage any means to absolve himself, potentially even taking extreme actions. At that point, even those who step up to testify against him, including Mrs. Margery, may face unforeseen danger.

Who will dare to speak up for the group to expose massive corruption in the future?

It would be unfair to those who trust them and detrimental to the group’s long-term stability.

Bai Xiaosheng and Wen Yan are at odds with Bai Xuanyu; their opinions are like fire and water, with no clear right or wrong.

But at this point, neither side is willing to relent, each holding firm to their own answers.

So they can only fight to see who prevails!

Wen Yan also informed Bai Xiaosheng that within three days, there will be a crucial deliberation meeting attended solely by the seven vice-chairmen.

That special meeting will determine Vice Chairman Morgan’s ”life or death”!

Therefore, both they, Bai Xuanyu, and Vice Chairman Morgan will undoubtedly use every means to influence the vice chairmen’s decisions!

It will be a life-or-death showdown then!

Other than Vice Chairman Morgan and Mr. Lu Cheng’an, the other five vice chairmen must have four agree for the punitive resolution to pass.

This winning chance is, in fact, rather disadvantageous for Bai Xiaosheng and Wen Yan!

Because the influence of their two opposing individuals can sway the decisions of at least two vice chairmen...

That is not difficult.

Bai Xiaosheng conversed with Wen Yan for over half an hour in the office before leaving.

By the time he left, Bai Xiaosheng’s gaze was solemn.

Using the information Wen Yan shared with him, Bai Xiaosheng had Red Lotus estimate their success rate in his mind.

The result was quite unfortunate.

Their chance of winning is extremely low, even less than thirty percent.

Bai Xiaosheng returned to his residence and met Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying.

Seeing Bai Xiaosheng return, the two of them were also solemn.

They had heard about Caroline’s fall.

Although they were long-time rivals with Caroline, and they often joked privately that their relationship was a ”do-or-die” one, seeing the reality of life and death was still moving.

No one expected Caroline to take it all so seriously, beyond her own life.

This resolute opponent truly invoked sighs and reflections.

Subsequently, Bai Xiaosheng informed them about Bai Xuanyu stepping in to protect Vice Chairman Morgan and his dialogue with Wen Yan.

”I really didn’t expect that the one who ultimately stepped out to stop us would be the acting chairman — Bai Xuanyu,” Lei Ying remarked, his expression serious.

”If Bai Xuanyu uses his influence to protect him, then our odds might not be that high, right?” Lin Weiwei looked at Bai Xiaosheng, asking with some concern.

Bai Xiaosheng shook his head solemnly.

Lin Weiwei was somewhat relieved by this answer.

”It has become extremely low,” Bai Xiaosheng clarified his meaning.

Lin Weiwei was instantly deflated.

Bai Xiaosheng said, ”Although Mr. Lu Cheng’an’s condition is stable, he probably won’t leave the hospital room for two months. Moreover, his mental clarity is fluctuating, and he can’t attend video conferences. Because before the vote, Vice Chairman Morgan will have the chance to make a statement, he’ll certainly drag it out, waiting for Mr. Lu Cheng’an to falter.”

Vice Chairman Morgan, knowing his character, will certainly do this.

”Can’t Mr. Lu Cheng’an make an early vote?” Lin Weiwei couldn’t help but ask.

Bai Xiaosheng said nothing, and Lei Ying answered the question for him.

”Considering the importance of such a meeting, it’s obviously governed by procedures. It’s likely that the statement must be heard on-site before making a resolution. Even allowing Mr. Lu Cheng’an to join via remote video conference is already a significant exception. Vice Chairman Morgan will insist on following the rules, and with Bai Xuanyu protecting him as acting chairman, they’ll certainly utilize all frameworks favorable to them.”

Upon hearing this, Lin Weiwei also fell silent, feeling even more gloomy.

”There’s still some time; there will always be a way,” Bai Xiaosheng murmured, gazing into the distance.

At this moment, in the proxy chairman’s office at Zhenbei Group.

Bai Xuanyu had just listened to Vice Chairman Morgan’s tearful complaints, comforting him a bit.

Then, Bai Xuanyu assured him, ”Rest assured, Mr. Morgan, you have made significant achievements and contributions to the group. I won’t let them treat you so unfairly! Isn’t there still a vice chairman’s deliberation meeting? I will use all my influence to ensure at least two vice chairmen support you; you can count on that!”
