Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 2937: Chapter 2040: Conflict

Bai Xuanyu probably never imagined that after months of traveling abroad, today he finally returned to the group’s headquarters, hoping to take a breath, but what greeted him was such a terrifying scene.

At the entrance were a large number of police officers, onlookers, and swarming reporters.

Just those reporters alone surrounded his car in three tight layers, and only with the utmost protection from his entourage did he finally break through the heavy blockade and manage to get into the headquarters building.

After asking around to understand the situation, Bai Xuanyu found out that not long ago, the North American division president of the group, Caroline, fell from the building!

When he heard Caroline’s name, Bai Xuanyu was shocked, and the kind of shock in his heart was indescribable.

According to the person reporting to him, it was during the high-level meeting held this morning that Caroline left halfway, then found a place under repair, and jumped down.

When Bai Xuanyu learned that the high-level meeting was actually still going on, he became furious and rushed over.

He is a person who values emotion and duty, and cannot stand such cold-blooded events!

Caroline must have suffered some stimulus to make such an extreme act; the right and wrong in this may be put aside for now, but she ultimately made great contributions to the group, yet now with her demise, how could those high-level people still remain indifferent and continue with this bullshit meeting!

Utterly inhumane!

When Bai Xuanyu arrived angrily, he saw a group of high-level people surrounding one person, pushing and shoving.

That person was pounding his chest and wailing mournfully.

Bai Xiaosheng and Wen Yan were outside the crowd, just ”watching coldly.”

Once Bai Xuanyu saw clearly that the person yelling was Vice Chairman Morgan, he finally burst out, shouting to break the situation.

Vice Chairman Morgan, upon seeing Bai Xuanyu return, rushed over as if he had seen a savior, weeping desperately.

Seeing Vice Chairman Morgan, who was usually so dignified and imposing, looking so disheveled now, Bai Xuanyu couldn’t bear to look directly, feeling a wave of sadness.

”Mr. Morgan, calm down. I know about Miss Caroline’s incident. It’s truly regrettable.” Bai Xuanyu sighed heavily, lamenting.

Vice Chairman Morgan looked sorrowful, turned back to the crowd, and said harshly, ”Now, they still want to push me to death!”

”Rest assured, as long as I am here, it won’t happen!” Bai Xuanyu hurriedly comforted.

By this time, everyone also approached.

Bai Xuanyu glanced around at each vice chairman, each division president, and finally fixed his gaze on Wen Yan beside Bai Xiaosheng, his expression turning fierce and angry.

”Bai Xuan Yan, give me an explanation!”

In front of everyone, Bai Xuanyu spoke solemnly.

Bai Xuan Yan, also known as Wen Yan, was in charge of the supervision department, his position equal to the vice chairman, even slightly higher, and usually presided over the group’s grand meetings.

Such a big event happened, yet he was not there to handle it personally but was holding a meeting here, even leading the group to force a vice chairman to such an extent—what was he trying to do!

Bai Xuanyu felt genuinely angry.

Wen Yan said solemnly, ”Brother Xuanyu...”

”Call me Acting Chairman!” Bai Xuanyu gritted his teeth.

”Acting Chairman.” Wen Yan responded slowly, ”I also deeply regret Miss Caroline’s incident. I’ve already assigned directors from the administration, logistics, and public relations departments to handle it properly. And now, we’re making the final decision on Mr. Morgan’s issue...”

Hearing this, Bai Xuanyu was so angry he laughed, letting out a cold ”hehe.”

Wen Yan stopped speaking.

”You should be at the scene, not holding a meeting here! You should face it yourself, not just send a few department heads to handle it! You should reflect and question yourself, not lead others to coerce a vice chairman! Do you even have a heart, a conscience? Has your conscience been fed to the dogs!” The more Bai Xuanyu spoke, the angrier he became.

He didn’t just want to say this to Wen Yan, but also to these vice chairmen, these division presidents present.

In his eyes, these people were too cold-blooded!

A colleague of over ten years had just passed away, yet they could still sit here and even besiege another esteemed vice chairman!

It was simply the extinction of humanity!

Bai Xuanyu couldn’t scold everyone, couldn’t reprimand those aged, highly-esteemed vice chairmen, so he directed all his anger at Wen Yan.

This was also to show them!

Still dissatisfied, Bai Xuanyu stepped forward, swinging an angry slap towards Wen Yan.

Wen Yan suddenly felt a cold wind at his ear, caught a glimpse of a shadow approaching out of the corner of his eye, and found it too late to dodge.

His eyes instantly narrowed, preparing for it.

But the slap did not land on Wen Yan’s face.

A hand reached out from the side, firmly grabbing Bai Xuanyu’s wrist.

Bai Xuanyu was stopped, and his gaze moved angrily to the other person.

Wen Yan also looked towards the side.

The one who stopped Bai Xuanyu was none other than Bai Xiaosheng.

At this moment, Bai Xiaosheng stared at Bai Xuanyu, and only after he looked at himself did he speak solemnly, ”Acting Chairman, you haven’t understood the situation yet, so why are you so quick to anger, quick to rebuke, and even quicker to act?”

Bai Xuanyu broke away from Bai Xiaosheng’s hand furiously, looked at him coldly, and said word by word, ”Is this your place to speak!”

Facing such a question, Bai Xiaosheng calmly replied, ”That depends on what identity the Acting Chairman is using to say these words and do these things.”

”If it’s in official capacity, then let everyone speak calmly, and absolutely no action should be taken. Mr. Wen Yan is a subordinate, not a slave. I have the responsibility to remind the Acting Chairman to pay attention to company regulations, and even local laws.”
