Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 2913: Chapter 2028: Eliminated from the Competition (Part 3)

Kaleb and Bai Xiaosheng exchanged looks, and Kaleb couldn’t help but swallow nervously, feeling uneasy inside.

”I have another identity, which some may know, and some may not,” Bai Xiaosheng stared intently at Kaleb, like a leopard targeting its prey. ”I am also the second-in-command of the Headquarters’ Audit Department, capable of initiating accountability against anyone in any subsidiary of the group! In principle, even the Chairman is no exception!”

Bai Xiaosheng’s words left everyone present stunned.

Kaleb and even Reid’s eyes contracted sharply.

”Mr. Kaleb, there are extremely serious issues in the enterprise you are in charge of. I will soon send someone to conduct a thorough investigation, and I hope you will cooperate,” Bai Xiaosheng said slowly. ”Do I need to explain in more detail here?”

Kaleb’s face turned pale instantly.

In fact, upon hearing Bai Xiaosheng’s other identity, he was already afraid.

With his position and status, he naturally didn’t know about Bai Xiaosheng’s role as the second-in-command of the Audit Department, but he was well aware of the department’s fearsome power.

Once the Audit Department opens its mouth, it means they have ample evidence, leaving no room for argument.

Kaleb’s hands couldn’t stop trembling.

Reid, standing by, was also startled, but seeing that Bai Xiaosheng had never looked directly at him, he secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

”This is a gain; I’ll contact Vice Chairman Morgan immediately to report the situation,” Reid thought to himself. ”It seems Bai Xiaosheng intends to make a move against Mr. Morgan via Kaleb!

Indeed, while Bai Xiaosheng had not looked directly at Reid, his peripheral vision was always on him.

In fact, Bai Xiaosheng also wanted to use this person’s mouth to send a message to Vice Chairman Morgan: he was going to start making moves from Kaleb’s side...

As Bai Xiaosheng’s chilling words settled in, the entire room fell silent.

Everyone looked at Bai Xiaosheng with eyes full of awe and fear, with the element of fear clearly outweighing the awe.

If Bai Xiaosheng were only a business president, he wouldn’t be able to act directly against those present. But using his Audit Department identity, he could even bypass Mrs. Margery!

At this moment, Mrs. Margery glanced around, then looked at Kaleb, and finally landed her gaze on Bai Xiaosheng, smiling gently.

”Look, Mr. Bai, today was supposed to be a thank-you banquet for you, but now we’re talking about work. Let’s just drink and bond today, not discuss work, what do you think?” Mrs. Margery was working to ease the atmosphere.

”As Mrs. Margery says, I naturally comply,” Bai Xiaosheng smiled warmly, concealing his sharpness.

”Come, this way please,” Mrs. Margery gestured invitingly to Bai Xiaosheng with a smile.

Bai Xiaosheng nodded with a smile.

The two prominent figures bypassed the crowd and headed straight to a lounge in the corner of the banquet hall.

Fei’er quickly followed, and Miss Clark, disregarding others’ gazes, also headed that way.

Kaleb watched them leave in a daze, then quietly turned and left in embarrassment.

He couldn’t stay here a moment longer.

Reid saw Binge and the others still waiting around in confusion, so he went over, nudged his son, and gave him a look.

Only then did Binge realize, not daring to stay longer, he quickly gathered his friends and departed.

Reid glanced around, and seeing small groups whispering, unnoticed, he also quietly left the banquet hall.

Elsewhere, Bai Xiaosheng and Mrs. Margery entered the soundproof lounge, with Fei’er and Miss Clark remaining outside.

Inside, they sat facing each other.

Bai Xiaosheng smiled at Mrs. Margery, ”I didn’t expect our cooperation to be so seamless, Mrs. Margery.”

Mrs. Margery returned the smile, ”It’s because you act so well, Mr. Bai.”

”You’re too kind. Today brought some unexpected yet interesting gains,” Bai Xiaosheng said politely, then shifted the topic, ”Now, Mrs. Margery, shall we talk again about some matters?”
