This Doctor Is Too Wealthy

”Don’t you realize how crucial our Tingting’s materials are? Bring them out now, or we’re calling the police. I’m telling you, this is theft.”

Director Xue also turned serious, staring at the girl and saying, ”Young lady, you need to be responsible for what you say. What evidence do you have that I took Du’s materials? If you have it, show it. If not, then think carefully before you speak. Girl, please consider your words carefully. You are a college student now, an adult, and you must bear the consequences of what you say.”

Just a few words from Director Xue were enough to intimidate the young girls. They stopped making a fuss as they had when they first came in, and all of them looked uncertainly at Du Xuejing.

Du Xuejing, however, was also somewhat dumbfounded; she now couldn’t even remember if she had brought the materials with her or not.

At this moment, Director Xue’s expression suddenly softened, and she said gently, ”Don’t worry, if it really is in my office, it won’t be lost. We are a legitimate company, and we would never commit any malicious acts. Hold on, let me ask others if anyone came in and took it.”

As she spoke, Director Xue lightly swept aside the long hair on her chest, the movement causing a ripple that abruptly caught the young girls’ eyes.

Director Xue just smiled lightly, then walked elegantly past the girls with her long legs. The faint scent of perfume, graceful stride, striking figure, and confident demeanor all made the girls feel a sense of inadequacy and a pang of envy.

”Xiao Zhang, come in,” Director Xue walked to the door and called out softly.

A tall and handsome young man quickly walked in. He first smiled at the girls and then looked at Director Xue and said, ”Director, you were looking for me?”

”I just went to the toilet. Did you see anyone come into my office?”

”I went in to clean up a bit.”

Director Xue frowned. ”What did you clean up?”

”Paper cups for drinking water and some scattered materials.”

”Where are the materials? Who told you to clean them up?”

The young man was startled and quickly said, ”But Director, you were the one who said your office must always be kept tidy, and that unrelated items shouldn’t be on your desk, so I just...”

Director Xue acted very angry. ”Then where are the materials you took? Bring them back to me right now!”

The young man instantly became flustered. ”Director, I saw the cover of those materials... it didn’t look like a formal document, nor did it seem to belong to our company, so... so...”

”So what? Hurry up and tell me.”

”So I took them out and put them in the paper shredder.”

”You... you... From now on, don’t touch any materials on my desk without my permission! Do you understand?” Director Xue was about to explode with anger.

He meekly nodded. ”I’m sorry, Director, I really didn’t mean to do it.”

Director Xue shot the young man a fierce glare, then turned around, her expression instantly changing to one full of apology. ”Little sister, look at what a mess this has become. How about this: tell me the value of your lost materials, and I’ll have him compensate you.”

Du Xuejing and the other girls immediately turned to look at the young man, who once again expressed his apologies with a sincere look on his face, ”I’m sorry, I’ll make up for your losses.”

The young man had a fresh complexion, with rosy cheeks and white teeth. He wore crisp suit trousers and a wrinkle-free white shirt, looking very clean and sharp. Coupled with his sincere, large eyes, the girls blushed slightly, and those close to Du Xuejing even secretly tugged at her arm.

Du Xuejing felt much the same. Looking at the young man’s sincere gaze, she suddenly found it hard to be harsh with him. Although he wasn’t her type, she couldn’t bear to see such a handsome young man being scolded like a dog by the ’evil’ Director Xue. Besides, since the materials had already been destroyed, she decided to let it go.

”Director Xue, since the materials have already been destroyed, let’s just forget it. We’ll head back now,” Du Xuejing said after a glance at the young man, her words conciliatory and indicating she wouldn’t pursue the matter.

Director Xue, however, maintained her apologetic expression and said to Du Xuejing with great embarrassment, ”Little sister, look at this mess. I’m truly sorry.”

Du Xuejing shook her head. ”Nevermind, it’s fine. I still have the draft, so I can just print another copy. Director Xue, we won’t bother you any longer. And don’t... don’t scold this... this young man anymore; he didn’t mean it.”

After saying this, Du Xuejing immediately took her companions’ hands, lowered her head, and ran out of Director Xue’s office.

Although there was a significant BUG in the conversation between Director Xue and the young man, neither Du Xuejing nor her companions noticed it. Perhaps they were deceived by Director Xue’s apparent sincerity, or maybe it was their own lack of social experience. It’s also possible they were simply smitten by the handsome young man. In any case, the group of them all took off running.

Watching their retreating figures, Director Xue chuckled softly. ”Such cute little girls.”

She then gently patted the handsome young man beside her. ”Not bad, Xiao Zhang.”

”You flatter me, Director Xue. It’s all because you taught me well.”
