This Doctor Is Too Wealthy

Du Heng’s last rhetorical question rendered Wang Pan speechless.

Does it matter?

It does, but not significantly.

As long as there are high-quality articles and influential Research achievements, whether the Project is completed or not doesn’t really affect the School’s plans or Du Heng’s career progression.

After considering, Wang Pan said, ”In that case, I won’t make demands for regular publications. Instead, you should focus on getting the articles already confirmed as core published continuously in the monthly journals—two articles per month, maintained until the end of the year.

Especially for next month, contact that editor you know well, have them push you up the queue, and ensure two substantial articles are published.

If you encounter difficulties, I will step in to assist.

As for the remaining matters, I will arrange them. I’ll talk to your hospital’s Dean, striving to elevate your reputation in the Chinese Medicine Academic Circle by the end of the year.

Also, summer vacation is just a month away. I’ll help you arrange lectures at major medical schools. You should prepare well. We’ll aim to cover the influential medical schools in the North during the two-month vacation.

Come winter vacation, we’ll try to cover the medical schools in the South as well.”

Hearing this, Du Heng winced, and he couldn’t help but remember Ding Yuxue’s lecture.

Touring all the northern medical schools in a month—they certainly weren’t planning on letting him rest.

There aren’t many nationally renowned or influential Schools of Traditional Chinese Medicine in the North. However, for various reasons, apart from a few exceptions, most provinces have a School of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and these schools enjoy considerable prestige locally.

Just thinking about it, even before starting any preparations, Du Heng felt his calves begin to tremble.

”Principal Wang, aren’t we rushing things a bit?”

”You think it’s too fast?” Wang Pan shook his head. ”I actually think it’s too slow.

To build up your reputation, given your age and experience, will undoubtedly provoke some dissenting voices. To dispel these different views, you can only continue to expand your influence.

Of course, the influence I’m referring to isn’t the online kind, but influence within the industry.

Only when your recognition within the industry is sufficient can we proceed with our next plan.”

As he spoke, Wang Pan’s expression turned serious. ”Additionally, I have some news for you. The Yangcheng Traditional Chinese Medicine Research Institute has achieved a major breakthrough. It seems to be a traditional chinese medicine cell strain that can be transformed into the genomes of many different traditional chinese medicines. They are keeping the specific details confidential for now.

However, it is certain that their Research achievements will be announced in the second half of the year.

By then, the Clinic Director of the Yangcheng Chinese Herbal Medicine Research Institute will definitely compete for next year’s academician nomination.

Furthermore, Professor Su Nan from the Military Hospital will publish his Research achievements in a top international journal next month—a cardiovascular drug purified from pure traditional chinese medicine.”

Wang Pan paused for a moment after saying this, then, after some thought, added, ”The research of some others also seems to have yielded results, but they are all still keeping it confidential. They all intend to release them together in the second half of the year to prepare for the academician nominations after the New Year.

But from my understanding, their Research achievements are fundamentally not on the same level as those of you three.

The transformation of traditional chinese medicine cell strain can effectively alleviate the scarcity of traditional chinese medicine. This will be a great help to the development of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

The cardiovascular drug purified from pure Chinese medicine is safe, has fewer side effects, and is cheaper. This makes it a significant boon for the increasing number of cardiovascular patients in our country. If this drug could be included in medical insurance, it would also greatly alleviate the current pressure on the medical insurance system.

Additionally, there’s your Project research. It’s an entire traditional Chinese medicine treatment process, and it’s applicable to Paralysis, a category with even greater societal impact.

This not only benefits patients but also greatly benefits the development of the entire traditional Chinese medicine system.

So, for next year, the only ones in a competitive position will be you three.”

Du Heng felt extremely irked. He gritted his teeth and growled, ”Those two should be in biology and chemistry. Why are they stealing jobs from traditional Chinese medicine?”

Wang Pan smirked dismissively but quickly composed his expression. ”Competition in biology and chemistry is even more intense. Besides, they are researching traditional chinese medicine, and their professions are Chinese Medicine Doctor and Chinese herbal medicine pharmacist. So, this classification is definitely not an issue.”

After speaking, Wang Pan hesitated for a moment and then added, ”Mr. Du, let’s not discuss this issue in the future.

Our School’s Academician Sun Jiaxiang also engages in Natural Drug Chemistry and New Drug Development research, and the Elderly gentleman is very sensitive. The last thing he likes to hear is someone saying he’s not a traditional Chinese medicine doctor, so it’s best if we are careful.”

Du Heng couldn’t help but twist his lips.

Just listen to that name—how could that be traditional Chinese medicine?

And that Nobel laureate, they used purely Western medicine methods to extract key substances. This is entirely different from Chinese herbal medicine.

But some people in Society, lacking a sense of honor, are willing to latch onto it, and even the laureate acknowledged it, which did increase the prestige of traditional Chinese medicine. So, legitimate traditional Chinese medicine practitioners like Du Heng just let it be.

Now that those people are turning around to compete for traditional Chinese medicine’s quotas, they can only watch helplessly.

Seeing Du Heng’s disgruntled expression, Wang Pan knew what he was thinking. However, he didn’t intend to delve deeper into this issue, so he changed the subject and asked, ”Mr. Du, do you have any problems with these arrangements?”
