The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 139: Chapter 139 Madam is Really Gossipy

A maid was sent away overnight from the main courtyard, and it was one of the four main maids beside Madam Song; not only did the Jiang and Lu families know, but even Song Ci knew as well.

Jiang said to her husband, ”Big Sister-in-law must be in a hurry to act, otherwise she wouldn’t send the girl away overnight. That girl, I always thought she seemed a bit enchanting, see, I wasn’t wrong.”

As she spoke, she picked up a piece of tofu skin and placed it in Song Zhicheng’s bowl.

Song Zhicheng: ”...”

You weren’t wrong, you’re just like Sun Wukong reincarnated, with fiery eyes and golden vision, but can you let me have a bite of meat?

Song Zhicheng quietly extended his chopsticks towards the platter of white-cut chicken, but his wife’s chopsticks slapped them down.

”What, I can’t even have a bite?” Song Zhicheng looked at his wife, ”Sharing a meal at the same table, you eat meat while I eat vegetarian, isn’t this torture? And you, you’ve gotten round, let me help you slim down a bit?”

”Husband, can’t you bear it for the sake of a soft little daughter?” Jiang said resentfully, ”Imagine, a soft little daughter calling you daddy sweetly, doesn’t that make your heart melt?”

As Song Zhicheng imagined that scene, he felt his heart melt, completely melt.

”I’ll eat it!” His chopsticks changed course and reached for the plate of marinated seaweed.

Jiang smiled.

Plum Garden.

Lu was having breakfast alone, feeling somewhat gleeful, and inexplicably delighted at heart.

No matter how proud she was, or how high her status, she couldn’t suppress the dissent among her people.

Yet she thought of something and looked at her trusted servant, Aunt Zhou, asking, ”Aunt, how long has it been since we last heard from Qiu Chan?”

Before leaving, she said she’d send updates on her husband’s situation every few days.

Aunt Zhou calculated with her fingers: ”Madam, it’s been eight days since we last received anything.”

Hearing this, Lu pursed her lips, her fingers curled as if to comfort both herself and Aunt Zhou, ”Maybe there’s been some delay on the way.”

Aunt Zhou dared not respond but knew Madam was angry.

Chunhui Hall.

After exercise and washing up, Song Ci sat at a breakfast table, listening to Nanny Gong’s quiet report, her eyes lit up.

Finally, a maid was interested in her cunning eldest son trying to climb into his bed.

Oh my, since coming to this ancient time, she finally witnesses something of such curiosity in her family, considering how such bedroom affairs are common in grand mansions.

Nanny Gong: ”...”

The Madam’s gossipy demeanor was too obvious, leaving her at a loss for words.

”Did that maid actually succeed in anything before being sent away?” Song Ci was very curious.

Nanny Gong chuckled in speechless amusement, ”Madam, if she had succeeded, the Prime Minister surely wouldn’t have let Madam send her away.”

With affairs of the bed, it takes two to tango. If the man is not interested, the maid could be completely bare and still achieve nothing, but if he was interested, she wouldn’t be sent away.

Song Ci thought, who knows if her cunning son is a scoundrel who wouldn’t acknowledge after sleeping with someone.

But she couldn’t say that, so she awkwardly said, ”I was just asking. By the way, tell the people below to be mindful, don’t spread rumors that would embarrass Lady Gu.”

”Certainly, my lady.”

”Mother.”

Song Ci watched as Song Zhiyu rushed in like a gust of wind, clutching his chopsticks, and glanced at the Western clock, ”Why haven’t you gone to the Academy? Skipping school?”

”The Academy is on break today, so I’m here to have breakfast with you.” Song Zhiyu smiled cheekily.

Song Ci: ”Then it’s a perfect chance to ask, did you see Miss Wang yesterday? How was it? Do you like her?”
