The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 129: Chapter 129: Sister Wants to Climb the Imperial Branch

The sudden departure of Madam Song left quite a few people in the flower hall curious. Those with keen ears vaguely heard the words ”Prince,” could a Prince have come as well?

Oh, if that’s the case, then the Song Minister’s Mansion is truly going to soar to the heavens.

You must know, the Song Minister’s Mansion is the leader of humble scholars, and in the capital, their biggest backing is the Empress Dowager and the Emperor. They don’t have such a royal kinship, so by rights, a Prince wouldn’t come to such an occasion.

But unexpectedly, such a person has come, combined with the current proposal to establish a crown prince in the court, could it be that they’ve come to win over Prime Minister Song, or is it for one of the young ladies or gentlemen of the Song Minister’s Mansion?

Oh, Second Miss Song is coming of age this winter, the Madams here all noticed what kind of person she is.

The Song couple hasn’t let slip any word of allying with any family, could it be for the royal family?

Oh, this is truly explosive news, some people are itching to rush home and tell their husbands all about it.

After Madam Song left, Mistress Jiang arranged for this group of female guests to move to the Theater Pavilion to watch a play.

Song Ci, as the esteemed Madam supporting the event, acted as if she was unaware of the presence of those distinguished individuals, leading the ladies to watch the play and chattering about all sorts of things.

The people present really weren’t wrong, a Prince did come, in fact, the Eldest Prince came, and the Second and Third Princes came as well, either accompanying cousins from their maternal families or familiar young lords from the Marquis and Duke Mansions, only without the pomp.

Madam Song felt reassured upon hearing that Song Zhiyuan had returned home, with her husband to hold down the fort, it didn’t matter if several Princes came.

However, Song Zhiyuan was somewhat troubled.

He’s no longer a young man, and he more or less knew why these young masters had come. He wouldn’t take sides, but the trouble was having to explain to the Emperor.

”Have the Hidden Guards follow them discreetly, don’t let them run around.” Song Zhiyuan only introduced the children and his second brother to the Princes, then had them take the Princes to have fun, and instructed the Hidden Guard leader Qian Yong to watch over them.

Qian Yong took the order and left.

”Prime Minister, the Duke of England has arrived.”

Song Zhiyuan immediately stood up, adjusted his collar, and went to greet him.

At this moment, Song Zhiyu had an urgent little meeting with a few young nephews about who would accompany whom. They couldn’t be left alone, nor could they clash, and definitely shouldn’t bump into the ladies.

So each Prince had a little tail trailing behind, making them feel like some kind of offender for no reason.

On the circle of the noble ladies’ side, Song Ruqian was accompanied by her two sisters, listening to the words delivered by their mother, her eyes flickered slightly.

”Qi’er, there are quite a few distinguished guests over by Qu Shui Liu Shang, make sure these young ladies don’t wander off and run over there.” Song Ruqian whispered to her sister.

Song Ruqi’s heart skipped a beat: ”Sister, who are those distinguished guests?”

Song Ruqian glanced at her sister, her brow twitching slightly, and said, ”They are important guests, you should know enough.” After a pause, she added, ”Qi’er, you are the Second Miss of the Song family, today is also a good day for our mother, we can’t let anyone look down on the Prime Minister’s Mansion, and ridicule should not happen.”

Song Ruqi’s eyes flickered with a hint of guilt, she said, ”Elder sister, I understand.”

”Hmm, go on, be a good hostess.” Song Ruqian said with a smile.

As Song Ruqi walked away, Song Ruqian’s smile slightly faded, but there was a touch of worry in her eyes.

Could it be that my sister really has thoughts of reaching for a branch on the imperial tree?

”Ah Qin, come quickly, see how this painting of mine is coming along?” A noble lady called Song Ruqian with a smile.

Song Ruqian gathered her thoughts, and with a radiant smile, said, ”Coming.”
