The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 133: Chapter 133 After the Banquet Ends

After the meal and drinks, with guests and hosts thoroughly enjoying themselves, the guests gradually took their leave of the mansion.

Seeing off the guests was naturally not a task for Old Lord Song Ci to handle. Firstly, her rank was high with an Imperial Decree, and secondly, she was old; whoever else was sending people off, it certainly wasn’t her role.

”Old sister, when you have some time, shall I come over to your place for a chat?” Madam Wei squeezed Song Ci’s hand and winked.

Song Ci replied, ”Sure, if my legs cooperate, I’ll come over and disturb you.”

”That sounds good.”

Some ladies observed the interaction between the two old women and then looked at Wang Qiuman and the expressions of the Wei family members standing behind Madam Wei, and immediately thought of something.

Madam Wei departed with her family in tow.

Wang Qiuman shared a carriage with the second and third young ladies of the Wei family. Third young lady Wei Wenfang glanced at Wang Qiuman and couldn’t help but say, ”Some people try to climb too high and may end up breaking their legs and being crippled.”

Wei Wenfang was rather spoiled, long expressing her discontent towards how their elder cared for this niece more than her own granddaughters, not to mention, the elder was keen on paving the way for her to marry into a high family.

Hmph, just an orphan with some money, why act all high and mighty?

Wang Qiuman furrowed her brows slightly, pretending not to hear her veiled mockery, and instead remarked while looking at her hairpin, ”Third cousin, your hairpin is crooked.”

Wei Wenfang touched her hairpin, glaring at her.

Second young lady Wei Wenyan’s eyes flickered, and she asked with a smile, ”Cousin Qiuman, I heard Young Master Song Si was performing magic tricks on stage? Tell us about it, will you?”

Wang Qiuman remembered that person who was like a piece of jade, with a face untroubled, a product of a life grown up pampered, untouched by any hardships.

”Full of flaws, even I could perform it,” Wang Qiuman gave a faint smile and casually picked up a handkerchief, starting to perform a trick.

”Achoo, achoo.”

Song Si, who was publicly exposed, was touching his nose with one hand and his ear with the other, while seeing off his own group of friends.

Damn, who’s talking bad about me behind my back?

”Song Xiaosi.” Zhu Erpeng, one of the friends, pulled Song Zhiyu aside and whispered a few things.

Song Zhiyu squinted his eyes, ”Are you sure you didn’t see or hear wrong?”

”How could I? My eyes are sharp, it’s definitely Chu Er and the Princely Heir of Yongchang Marquis. I know Yongchang Marquis is on your brother’s side. Well, I don’t really get it, anyway, they were just hanging out behind the lavatories, so I thought I’d better tell you.”

Song Zhiyu patted his shoulder, ”Good brother, thanks.”

Zhu Erpeng puffed out his chest, saying, ”So I did some good, huh? Next time, you can’t fight with me over Little Peach Red.”

Song Zhiyu kicked him, ”Scram, who’s fighting with you, it’s all yours.”

Zhu Erpeng walked away with a cheeky smile.

Song Zhiyu’s smile faded slightly, and he turned to head towards his brother’s study.

Meanwhile, among the lady guests, the faces of Madam Li and the Countess of Pingchang bore an intriguing expression.

”Your mansion highly values propriety, my lady once mentioned needing to inform you to prevent misunderstandings,” Nanny Fang said nervously to the Countess of Pingchang, ”Also thanks to the sensible and obedient lady of your house, no embarrassment was caused, otherwise it would mean our Prime Minister’s Mansion did not host properly.”

The Countess of Pingchang could no longer maintain her smile, awkwardly laughing, as this verbal slap was indeed painful.

Nanny Fang didn’t say more, bowed, and courteously saw them off.

But then they overheard from the servants seeing off the guests that slap sounds were heard from within the carriages of both ladies, which made them smile.

Propriety, let’s see what face you have to say anything about it in the future.
