The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 126: Chapter 126 Song Family’s Eldest Legitimate Daughter Ruqian

Song Ruqian was being fervently inquired about her well-being by the Madam, who nearly inspected her down to her hair strands.

”Mother, I’ve already spoken to my mother-in-law; I will stay at the Prime Minister’s Mansion for two or three days. We can discuss further then. However, you should prepare, as the guests are arriving.” She had noticed carriages arriving one by one outside the mansion earlier.

The Madam immediately beamed with joy. ”Really? Your mother-in-law agreed?”

Song Ruqian nodded with a smile. ”She agreed.”

”And your husband?”

”Why would he disagree? He even said he would stay with me at the Mansion today.” Song Ruqian gently stroked her slightly protruding belly, a happy smile on her face.

”Alright then, we’ll chat more later. First, go greet your grandmother. By the way, Qian’er, your grandmother has changed a bit after her illness. She’s forgotten some things, so keep that in mind.”

Song Ruqian’s expression turned a bit solemn as she whispered, ”How can that be? Is Grandmother alright?”

”She’s fine, even better than before, you’ll see when you meet her.” The Madam replied with a beaming smile.

The current mother-in-law was much easier to deal with than before. Previously, she was somewhat difficult, but now things were much more straightforward.

Seeing her mother’s genuine smile, Song Ruqian was both surprised and curious.

”Elder Sister, Elder Sister.”

Song Ruqian turned to see her younger sister approaching quickly, and couldn’t help but smile.

”Why are you here? On mother’s happy day, why are you still in such a rush?”

Song Ruqi stepped forward, affectionately holding her hand, and coquettishly said, ”I haven’t seen you for a long time; I’m anxious and eager to see my little nephew as well.”

She stared at her elder sister’s belly, her little hands itching to touch.

”Still so boisterous.” Song Ruqian gently pinched her little nose.

Song Ruwei watched with some envy, smiled warmly, and curtsied to Song Ruqian, ”Elder Sister, it’s been years, Wei’er has missed you dearly.”

Song Ruqian glanced at her younger cousin and beckoned her closer with a smile, ”I’ve heard you’ve returned, but because I wasn’t feeling well, I couldn’t see you. However, I’ve always had you on my mind, Chun Yi.”

The maid named Chun Yi approached cheerfully and handed over a box engraved with plum blossoms with both hands. Song Ruqian accepted it and passed it to Song Ruwei, ”This is a gift for you.”

Song Ruwei took it with both hands, curtsied again, and said, ”Thank you, Elder Sister.”

”Quick, see what Elder Sister has given you,” Song Ruqi said curiously.

Song Ruwei looked at Song Ruqian, and seeing her approval, she opened the box. Inside lay a gold-inlaid jade bracelet adorned with eight treasures, small and exquisite, very beautiful.

At first glance, Song Ruwei liked it, somewhat overwhelmed, and said, ”Elder Sister, this is too precious.”

”Jewelry, whether expensive or not, is meant to be worn. If not useful, it’s worthless despite its value, so take it.”

Song Ruqi was very envious but saw that the bracelet was small enough only for her younger cousin’s wrist, so she said, ”Elder Sister gave it to you, quickly put it on, I’ll help you.”

Regardless of Song Ruwei’s words, she took the bracelet from the box and fastened it on her wrist.

The delicate bracelet complemented the jade-white wrist beautifully. Even Song Ruwei herself loved it so much; she exclaimed excitedly, ”It’s really beautiful, Elder Sister, I love it.”

”As long as you like it,” Song Ruqian smiled.

The Madam, having seen enough, then said, ”Alright, you sisters should quickly go to your grandmother. The guests will arrive soon.”

She herself needed to receive some of the more distinguished lady guests.
