Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

”Just now I was about to designate a skill, but Boss Golden Armor transmitted to me that if I take the skill, I won’t qualify to add the conceptual immunity instant-death attribute to the True God Dominant Body. So...”

Old Tang’s face was full of pain.

”I suspect this time I will really bleed heavily.”

Looking at Tang Haofei’s conflicted expression, Wen Yu silently stored the Steel Soul into the space ring—this skill might as well be considered the eighth skill for Star, better than ending up with nothing.

Moreover, Wen Yu had anticipated the issue Tang Haofei mentioned—Ancient Dragon’s Wrath is more suitable for adding the conceptual immunity instant-death attribute. Compared to the True God Dominant Body, the cost is naturally much lesser, plus Wen Yu’s rewards included one more Skill Elevation opportunity than Tang Haofei, which allowed Wen Yu to obtain the Steel Soul.

Giving up some, gaining some...

Isn’t this just trying to pocket the rewards from Sequence Number 1 and Sequence Number 2? Why speculate so mystically, what’s the purpose...

The skill scrolls were quickly dispensed, and after a while, Boss Golden Armor spoke again.

”Now dispensing the Creation Pill.”

As a flash of light appeared in front, a delicately designed small box appeared in front of Wen Yu.

Wen Yu took the box, opened it, and found twenty elixir pills the size of fingernails neatly arranged inside.

Creation Pill (Species-specific Esoteric Level item): Made by an Ultimate Revered level Alchemist from the Spirit Treasure Great World, it can increase physique points limit by 1000!

One pill gives 1000 points, 20 pills make up 20,000, better than nothing, I guess.

Wen Yu swallowed the elixir pill directly, as a trickling warm stream coursed through his body, it didn’t take long for Wen Yu to feel a slight increase in physique points.

However, the increase in physique was far less than 20,000, only a paltry single-digit difference. Wen Yu thought for a moment and realized that his species innate talent is too high, and his physique too strong. The energy within the pill is fixed; the same energy can provide a 1000-point physique limit increase for a Peak Level 6 professionist, but for himself...

This is pretty much useless.

Old Tang was worse—he ate the pills like candy and then nothing happened.

Alright... it seems apart from the final item reward, all other rewards appear to be quite trivial.

...

”Now dispensing Skill Elevation opportunities.”

As soon as Boss Golden Armor finished speaking, teleportation light flashed once more, this time, except for the top seven in sequence, everyone else was teleported out of the Million Victories Arena.

Their rewards have already been dispensed.

Subsequently, a delicately designed stone platform full of white runes appeared out of thin air in front of Wen Yu, as Boss Golden Armor’s voice sounded in Wen Yu’s ear.

”One elevation opportunity to raise Ancient Dragon’s Wrath to Species-specific Esoteric Level, the other two opportunities to upgrade skill weight.”

This is the method given by Boss Golden Armor to obtain the conceptual immunity instant-death attribute.

Wen Yu merely nodded, walked to the stone platform, and placed his hand on it.

A clear notification sounded in his ear.

”Please select the skill you want to elevate.”

”Ancient Dragon’s Wrath!”

”Elevation beginning...”

Accompanied by the buzzing sound of the stone platform, after a moment, the stone platform’s vibrations stopped and the notification sounded again.

”Elevation completed!”

Ancient Dragon’s Wrath (Species-specific Esoteric Level, Passive ability): The host gains Dragon Clan’s Power, immunity to instant death (cannot be one-hit killed by any ability before severe injury)! Immunity to curses, immunity to poison, certain immunity to Psychic Attack, receives 90% reduction of any damage at the same time. Damage caused by your own attacks is added with Power of Ancient Dragon, which cannot be healed by any recovery ability until death.

Damage reduction increased from 80% to 90%—this is important, because it was the damage reduction of Ancient Dragon’s Wrath coupled with the defensive power of Demon Dragon Armor that allowed Wen Yu, when facing Tang Haofei initially, to retain a counter-attack ability despite the enormous physique gap.

Then there’s the effect of Power of Ancient Dragon—the damage caused used to be irremediable by SSS-Class and below recovery ability, now it cannot be healed by any recovery ability until death, which is quite scary but also not as terrifying as imagined.

Now, for professionists at Limit Breakthrough Level, who wouldn’t have at least a couple of resurrection tools in hand—just need to resurrect once, and the effect of Ancient Dragon’s Wrath will be counteracted, and bleeding to death... this period also seems quite long, at least in a contest between strong experts, this period is enough to launch hundreds or thousands of attacks.

In other words, in head-to-head battles it’s not very useful, mainly to irritate opponents.

After reading the skill introduction of Ancient Dragon’s Wrath, Wen Yu placed his hand on the stone platform again.

”Please select the skill you want to elevate.”

”Ancient Dragon’s Wrath.”

”Ancient Dragon’s Wrath has been elevated to Esoteric Level, cannot be elevated again.”

”Increase weight of immunity instant-death attribute!”

”Applying... application approved, consuming two Skill Elevation opportunities, do you agree?”

”Agree!”

Three Skill Elevation opportunities, one spent on Ancient Dragon’s Wrath, two used to increase the weight judgment of immunity instant-death, although it’s a bit regrettable—Esoteric Level skill upgrade scrolls are really hard to find, yet the transformation in weight, besides here, is probably nowhere else to be found. Wen Yu naturally understands its importance.

”Weight judgment elevation finished.”

After a while, as the simple notification sounded, the two Skill Elevation opportunities were completely gone, Wen Yu immediately looked at the skill description of Ancient Dragon’s Wrath.

No change at all; Wen Yu gave it a thought and then realized.

Conceptual skills won’t be marked in the skill description, thinking about it, the two elevation opportunities indeed raised the immunity instant-death attribute of Ancient Dragon’s Wrath to a conceptual level, as for what effect it can manifest, this has yet to be seen in the future.

Done with everything, Wen Yu turned his head to see Tang Haofei.

Old Tang looked pale as he retracted his right hand, showing a bitter smile to Wen Yu.

”It’s all gone... Mad... fought for nothing.”

Skill rewards, two Skill Elevation opportunities, all these rewards were used by Tang Haofei for increasing skill weight judgment, plus Creation Pill was completely useless, Tang Haofei didn’t get anything except the item reward from Sequence Number 2.

But this doesn’t matter, skill rewards and Skill Elevation count, for someone like Tang Haofei with six Esoteric Levels, they are basically ineffective, now Old Tang’s face showing a meatpained expression is just because he’s unwilling.

It’s not just about being unwilling regarding the rewards, more likely, it’s about being unwilling after being defeated by Wen Yu...

Once the Skill Elevation ends, the light on the stage flashes again, and two people from Sequence Number 6 and Sequence Number 7 are directly teleported off the stage, leaving Wen Yu, Tang Haofei, Lin Haifeng, Qin Tian, and Kasu five people standing on the stage.

”Now dispensing item rewards for the top five in sequence.”

Boss Golden Armor said this, followed by five glowing spheres appearing out of thin air.
