Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

The commotion wasn’t big enough... Even if Sea King and his buddy got into a fight with Tang Haofei, it would be something...

Ye Nan thought regretfully, then rubbed his hands together: ”Bai, it’s the Sequence Member-Ranking Battle, I heard about it last time, this time I’m getting a sequence no matter what!”

Ye Nan’s strength made acquiring a sequence naturally simple and easy, even though the Level Lock restricted him from gathering Avengers. Just being invincible was enough for Ye Nan to handle most sequences—besides Wen Yu, and maybe Tang Haofei, there was no one who could shatter the rule-backed undying body of Ye Nan...

”Alright, alright...”

Bai impatiently waved his hand at Ye Nan, his thoughts interrupted and turned towards the Sequence Member-Ranking Battle. After thinking for a moment, Bai shook his head.

”Let’s forget about it...”

”Why? Aren’t you going?”

Bai nodded, then looked at Ye Nan.

”It’s not just me not going, you can’t go either. The rewards for this Sequence Member-Ranking Battle are worthless to you.”

Ye Nan’s strength mainly came from the Avengers, with the Boundary Cracking Device, so-called rewards, skill upgrade scrolls, and items seemed to have little impact on Ye Nan.

Yet Ye Nan was hoping to bask in some glory, feeling slightly unwilling. But seeing Bai’s determined eyes, Ye Nan sighed helplessly: ”Alright, not going means not going, your call... Can I at least watch the commotion?”

”No way! We have other matters to attend.”

Bai finished, immediately took out the Boundary Cracking Device, gesturing to Ye Nan.

”Let’s go, the Demon Realm needs more arrangement...”

...

The Sequence Member-Ranking Battle will officially commence in three days. The venue has been changed to—Star of Africa Million Victories Arena!

Upon hearing the prompt in his ear, Wen Yu remained expressionless, touched the Exchange Stone Pillar again, and chose the teleportation option.

Location—Exchange Stone Pillar closest to the Mountain Kui’s true body.

Sequence Number 2’s authority was quite vast, at least changing the Sequence Member-Ranking Battle venue was a simple matter, Wen Yu had anticipated that. As for the remainder, what needed discussing with Lin Haifeng was already settled, and there was no further need for Wen Yu to stay in Yanjing. Instead, Wen Yu decided to return to his lair ahead of time to sort out this harvest.

Indeed, it was a harvest... Though Wen Yu was caught off guard by a Demigod, Bai’s generous gift indeed allowed Wen Yu great gains, in fact, Wen Yu wished this harvest would come several more times.

And three days of preparation time was enough for Wen Yu to settle everything in hand and prepare to compete with Tang Haofei for Sequence Number 1...

This time, he wouldn’t be taken down by Tang Haofei in just a few moves.

...

”Welcome back, Master.”

”Mm, did anything happen while I was away?”

”Operations on the African continent are normal.”

The caretaker, Mountain Kui, detailed the events on the African continent over the past few days to Wen Yu—nothing significant, the biggest affair being the corpse puppet eliminating Zero’s rival, thus reconsolidating Zero’s position as commander of the Battle Zone Africa.

As for everything that occurred in Yanjing, it was beyond Mountain Kui’s jurisdiction, Mountain Kui was even unaware of such events.

Seated inside the Soul Experiment Lab, Wen Yu sorted out this harvest while listening to Mountain Kui’s report on various African affairs. Once Mountain Kui finished, Wen Yu promptly spoke.

”Notify Cloud Puppet to go to Eternal Sky City, you are responsible for allocating Creation Energy to Cloud Puppet, transforming Eternal Sky City into a Soul Puppet.”

”Transfer this month’s Star of Africa-purchased Soul Crystal Stones here, and notify Almighty Demon Vine to quickly condense Corpse Fruit, bring as much as possible to me.”

”Temporarily disperse the mutant beasts and some soul puppets from Star of Africa, the Sequence Member-Ranking Battle will unfold at Star of Africa, make sure to clear it out. Also, inform all mutant beasts and soul puppets on the African continent to behave and avoid approaching Star of Africa recently.”

After issuing three consecutive orders, Wen Yu promptly pulled out a heap of items from the space ring.

”And these things...”

”Three Esoteric Level skill scrolls, countless skill upgrade scrolls of SSS-Class and below, let Star of Africa government auction house take these away. Oh, notify Lin Haifeng, Star of Africa government auction house will hold its largest auction in history post-Sequence Member-Ranking Battle, have Yanjing advertise this.”

This time, Wen Yu amassed a substantial collection of items that he wouldn’t use but could sell, coupled with the Sequence Member-Ranking Battle setting at Star of Africa. Wen Yu deemed it necessary to use this opportunity to thoroughly gather some magic crystals and treasures, especially the rewards from the Sequence Member-Ranking Battle.

”There are also these two items.”

Wen Yu took out two items from the space ring.

The Laegihat Magic Mirror and the Holy Praise Hymn.

”Prepare a separate exhibition hall for these two items, you decide the entry charge.”

”Yes, Master.”

Mountain Kui’s clone received the two items, then Wen Yu pulled out the Book of Life and Death from the space ring.

”And this... Hmm, Universe of Immortals and Heroes lifeform... needs investigating, see if this thing’s attribute can be modified.”

Wen Yu himself was a divine beast species from the Universe of Immortals and Heroes, theoretically capable of using the Book of Life and Death unconditionally.

Opening the Book of Life and Death, resembling a book, it was blank except for the name ”Bai”, Wen Yu contemplated briefly, recalling Bai’s signing gesture, gently pressing his right index finger upon it.

Instantly, Wen Yu felt a slight prick on his finger, upon retracting his finger, the book inscriptions now included the name Wen Yu.

”Quite simple... If Soul Abiogenetic Creation Skill could alter the attribute, well... forget it...”

As per Bai’s plan, Wen Yu’s time was not too little or too much, but modifying the attribute of an Esoteric Level item itself required Wen Yu to invest much time and effort, and if the plan was successful in a short time, Wen Yu would not appear before everyone, thus, in Wen Yu’s eyes, the attribute modification of the Book of Life and Death seemed quite redundant.

Even Star of Africa became trivial; making a bit of business was beneficial, more harvest was a bonus... Facing a looming catastrophe, Wen Yu lost interest in carefully managing business.

As for the Psychic Battery, Psychic Shield Generator, and Black Skull items obtained in the Heavenly Palace, Wen Yu had other uses planned and left them untouched for now, then Wen Yu’s haul from this trip consisted only of Number One and three Esoteric Level skill upgrade scrolls.

Number One would certainly be placed in the tiered battle ground, and Wen Yu was determined to acquire Number One as his soul pet, but that required waiting for Level 7, just hoping Bai could exert some power, stall for time for Wen Yu, and truthfully, aside from pinning hopes on Bai, he had no other choice.

Everything happened too quickly, Earth’s will suddenly targeting him, even learning about his own truth of rebirth by Demon Lord, caught Wen Yu off guard, yet in such difficulty, Bai had no reason to deceive him.

This was something Bai did not speak of to Wen Yu, Wen Yu was unlikely to know, Bai could even secretly intervene, should Bai accidently spill Wen Yu’s matters, Wen Yu would not even know how he died.

Therefore, Bai was temporarily trustworthy. As for the promises made to Bai... Surviving the ordeal comes first, for Wen Yu now, aside from life and death, nothing else matters.

Reflecting on this chain of events, Wen Yu too felt queasy... Truly too passive...

The sole breakthrough to change the stalemate lies in the possible occurrence of the tiered battle ground!

Should Wen Yu fail to defeat Tang Haofei, not securing Sequence Number 1, or if Sequence Number 1’s reward is not the tiered battle ground, Wen Yu might as well prepare to meet his end.

The latter is beyond Wen Yu’s control, rewards are up to the Dominator to decide, but the former is merely a matter of strength.

Thinking of this, Wen Yu casually dismissed Mountain Kui, fetched three Esoteric Level skill upgrade scrolls from the space ring.

These three skill upgrade scrolls warranted serious deliberation from Wen Yu.
