Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

”Let’s set this matter aside for now.”

Earth’s consciousness said, and Tang Haofei did not persist—set it aside then, since it seems from Earth’s consciousness that asking won’t yield anything, but a thorn has already been planted in his heart.

Earth’s consciousness sighed lowly, its tone much more somber and distant.

”Wen Yu is the Demon Lord’s chess piece. Actually, this fact doesn’t matter much; he hasn’t wronged me or the mother planet that birthed and nurtured him. Even after learning this, I hold no negative views towards him. I’ve always believed that for a child who has lost his way, I should be tolerant, generous, and forgiving, guiding him back to the right path. Yet, a year ago, I unexpectedly received the scene you just saw, combined with Wen Yu’s identity, it all ties together simply.”

”In the end, Wen Yu will transform into the Demon Lord and destroy Earth. These memory fragments are unmistakable. I fear that if I continue to ignore them, this all might become reality. So a year ago, I gathered the Demigod Kuangliu and devised this plan, releasing you to deal with Wen Yu.”

After saying this, Earth’s consciousness went silent, awaiting Tang Haofei’s response...

However, Old Tang remained speechless at that moment, creating a rather awkward situation.

A terrifying scene occurred once more... Being addressed by one’s mother planet is considered an honor, yet there was silence twice in a short timeframe.

Anyone with discernment could see that Tang Haofei was not a loyal follower of Earth’s consciousness.

The Demigod listened to their conversation, seeing that the situation was about to turn for the worse, cleared his throat twice, attracting everyone’s attention.

”Tang Haofei, as the Son of Earth, Sequence Number 1 of the Human Race, we hope you can take responsibility, lead us to save this world, our mother planet. You know the situation now, Wen Yu is a disaster; he will eventually become the one who destroys the world. We have to kill him before he grows stronger.”

Tang Haofei pursed his lips, thought for a moment, then shook his head.

”Desire... but powerless... I should not be his match now. Five years, much too far behind...”

”That’s not a problem.”

The Demigod took on the responsibility of conversing with Tang Haofei. He touched his space ring and pulled out two skill scrolls from it.

Rebirth (S-class, Passive Skill): Gains one resurrection chance per natural month, cannot accumulate.

Revival (SS-Class, Passive Skill): Gains one resurrection chance every half month, cannot accumulate.

The effect of Life and Death Battle Execution combined with these resurrection abilities needs no further explanation—everyone knows the terror of Life and Death Battle Execution.

Yet, looking at the skill scroll in the Demigod’s hand, Tang Haofei squinted his eyes and shook his head without hesitation.

”Sorry, I don’t want these.”

The sudden refusal left the Demigod uncertain and astonished...

”You don’t want them? You should know, with the power of Life and Death Battle Execution, rebirth-type skills are your best choice... Oh, sorry, I nearly forgot, you’re Tang One, afraid that dying a few more times will make Tang Two uncontainably strong, right, then...”

The Demigod’s tone shifted abruptly at that point: ”Tang Two, if you don’t seize this opportunity, the gap between you and Wen Yu will grow wider. If you don’t kill him, he will kill you. You don’t think Wen Yu will let you roam freely outside, do you?”

A simple taunt, yet extremely effective for Tang Two.

Tang Haofei’s gaze instantly turned blood-red, filled with a violent malevolence, fixed on the Demigod, then shifted downward, looking at the skill scroll in the Demigod’s hand.

Tang Two’s right hand slowly extended, then hovered above the skill scrolls.

This scene relieved not just the Demigod but also Earth’s consciousness by the side, however, in the next moment...

”Bam...”

The Demigod’s right hand that held the skill scrolls was slapped, turning into a bloody mist, while the two skill scrolls fluttered like butterflies in the wind, falling into the nearby lava pool.

Tang Two grinned maliciously, his tone overtly derisive: ”Sorry, I don’t want these either.”

”And you, this guy...”

Tang Two turned his head, his crimson eyes fixed on Earth’s consciousness, with the red glow intensifying.

”You’re no good either, Earth’s consciousness, heh, like I’d care about you? If not for that guy Tang One...”

”Enough!”

Tang Haofei’s words abruptly shifted, the red glow in his eyes vanished in an instant, he bowed to Earth’s consciousness, then said calmly.

”Sorry, Tang Two lacks understanding, I apologize to you on his behalf.”

Tang One and Tang Two’s double act was dazzling to onlookers, and Earth’s consciousness shone with white light, continuously oscillating, clearly struck heavily!

”Regarding the issue with Wen Yu, I still need to think it over. Hmm, seems like I have nowhere to go, I’d like to stay here for a while, is that alright?”

Earth’s consciousness was left speechless by Tang Haofei, only trembling in place, whilst the Demigod replied, ”It’s fine, you can temporarily stay in the outer corridor, it’s very safe.”

”Alright, then I’ll take my leave...”

After saying this, Tang Haofei promptly flew toward the corridor behind, leaving the Demigod and his group looking at each other in embarrassment.

...

Once Tang Haofei’s figure faded into the corridor, Earth’s consciousness finally came to.

”How dare he... how dare he...”

”There must be a problem we haven’t considered.”

Compared to Earth’s consciousness, the Demigod thought more deeply, then quickly brainstormed but couldn’t pinpoint the reason for Tang Haofei’s behavior.

Theoretically, given Tang Haofei’s personality, upon seeing Earth’s consciousness he should have bowed down, complying with its wishes entirely, just like how the Demigod first behaved upon meeting Earth’s consciousness. But now it seems... there’s a clear issue with Sequence Number 1.

Alright then, both parties felt the other had issues, yet couldn’t fathom what the issues were...

This not only confused, but made the situation extremely awkward.

Earth’s consciousness barely steadied its breath, turning to look beside it—Sea King and Skyray appeared indignant. Knowing they couldn’t best Tang Haofei, they might have grabbed knives and dealt with Tang Haofei, the blasphemer. Whereas Walter and Ye Nan had expressions quite twisted...

Not only were they devoid of awkward or angry intentions, they almost burst into laughter—alright, they purely enjoyed the spectacle.

And the Demigod’s face remained hidden behind the mask, revealing no thoughts.

Five beings, three different thoughts...

These terrifying upright apes truly disgust me!

Earth’s consciousness mused, then uttered, ”You all go out first, Demigod stays...”
