Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Chapter 486: Chapter 79: Isolation_1

Upon hearing Victor’s call for help, Wen Yu was stunned. Though he was unsure about the situation in Las Vegas, his estimates and calculations hadn’t predicted it would fall into such a crisis so soon. If Las Vegas, with its four powerful experts—Sequence Number 4, Sequence Number 13, Sequence Number 15, and Sequence Number 82—and countless mutant beasts, couldn’t withstand the first wave of the demon plague, then how could Earth ever hope to fight the Demon Tribe? Was there any hope left?

The situation was somewhat beyond Wen Yu’s expectations...

With this in mind, Wen Yu recalled Faceless, commanded Star to enlarge, then leaped onto its back and flew towards Las Vegas.

Star rushed toward Las Vegas. Halfway there, Wen Yu attempted to connect with Victor through a psychic link—but the connection failed. He then tried to bring Victor back into the 5th Soul Realm, but it was to no avail.

Even the power of the Soul Realm space had been completely cut off!

Afterwards, Wen Yu quickly took out his communicator. He tried calling Claus, but no one answered. He then tried Qin Tian—still no answer. Next was Arthur, but again, no one picked up. Finally, he tried Yang Hong.

This time, a piercing CRACKLE came from the other end.

The call connected after a moment, and Wen Yu immediately asked, ”It’s Wen Yu, what’s going on?”

There was silence on the other end for quite a while, until a weak voice finally came through.

”It’s Wang Fucai... Yang Hong is lying unconscious next to me. We ran into some trouble...”

”I can’t quite explain what happened, but both Yang Hong and I are currently in a cave near Las Vegas. You’d better go and see what’s going on in Las Vegas for yourself...”

”Wen Yu, it’s been a whole day... You returned too late...”

Upon hearing Wang Fucai’s words, Wen Yu was taken aback.

”A whole day has passed?”

Though only two hours had passed from when he summoned Star and Cyclops until he woke up, Wen Yu had no recollection of how long he had been unconscious before that.

”Yes...”

After Wang Fucai finished speaking, the communicator went silent. The silence on the line continued until Wen Yu finally saw the situation at the Las Vegas Assembly Site.

”What... is this...”

The situation in Las Vegas in the distance took Wen Yu completely by surprise!

A huge, deep purple light barrier, like an upside-down bowl, enveloped the entire Las Vegas defense perimeter.

Brilliant light flowed across the deep purple barrier. Huge amounts of Demon Fiends would occasionally pour into it from the outside, but not a single creature was seen emerging from within!

This was a one-way defense barrier—allowing entry but not exit!

”Do you see it now? That thing was released by an Ancient Demon about eight hours ago, and then the whole of Las Vegas was completely engulfed by it. Yang Hong and I were preparing to go out to destroy the Demon Tribe’s troop transport machinery, so we narrowly escaped...”

”Seeing the situation in Las Vegas, Yang Hong and I aborted our mission. Instead, we retreated and tried to figure out what this purple light barrier was...”

”But we didn’t expect to find high-level Demon Tribe members guarding the area around the barrier. We were severely injured before we could even charge in and are now hiding in a cave.”

”That’s about it...”

”Mmm...”

Wen Yu pondered for a moment and immediately made up his mind.

In Wen Yu’s mind, what happened to Las Vegas didn’t really matter. His organizing the defense in Las Vegas wasn’t about making it his own base—it was primarily for Victor! And Victor absolutely could not be harmed—that was the bottom line!

With this in mind, Wen Yu said directly to Wang Fucai, ”Rest well. I’ll go and take a look.”

After saying that, Wen Yu hung up the communicator and commanded Star to charge madly towards Las Vegas.

Below the light barrier, vast numbers of Demon Fiends gathered in throngs, tightly surrounding it. Occasionally, some Demon Fiends, led by higher-ranking ones, would charge straight into the barrier.

And in the distant wilderness, countless Demon Fiends of all kinds continuously converged around the barrier, the encircling horde growing ever larger. One could only imagine that even if the professionists or mutant beasts inside managed to break out, they would face a massive Devil Army!

Even from afar, Wen Yu could sense the enormous energy contained within the light barrier!

A direct assault would certainly fail to break this unknown barrier! This was Wen Yu’s judgment.

Alright... I’ll start with this! Wen Yu quickly made his decision.

From Wen Yu’s perspective, the Devil Army below resembled a vast swarm of ants, crawling over the ground in orderly formations.

This alone showed that Demon Fiends were not brainless creatures that only knew how to slaughter.

They had organization, discipline, and a massive arsenal of strategic weapons!

In his previous life alone, Wen Yu knew of Star Devouring Demons, Composite Siege Beasts, and Magic Crystal Cannons!

So, it wasn’t surprising that these Demon Bastards could produce something like this barrier!

After commanding Star to circle in the distance for a while, Wen Yu released Faceless and dripped Tang Haofei’s blood onto it.

As Faceless’s body convulsed, it quickly transformed into Tang Haofei’s likeness.

He then sent Cyclops down, instructing it to move freely and hunt Demon Fiends.

Subsequently, Star let out a high-pitched dragon roar and charged violently towards the horde of Demon Fiends below.
