Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Chapter 459: Chapter 64: Eternal Sky City (Added for Climbing Wall Reward of Mafateng!)_1

Qin Tian probably felt a bit embarrassed and said apologetically to the group, ”Why don’t I go to Las Vegas with my sister first?”

”No need. Take it slow. After all, we have eleven days left. We have nothing to do during this time, so it’s good to stroll around and enjoy the leisure time here...”

”Of course, walking around aimlessly like this is a bit purposeless. Come on, I’ll take you to meet the master of this place and ask what’s interesting!” Wen Yu paused slightly and offered the group an enigmatic smile. ”Perhaps we can squeeze out some benefits along the way.”

You should know that on the Eternal Sky City, one Super Treasure Land, ten large treasure lands, one hundred medium treasure lands, and one thousand small treasure lands are permanently open!

It’s finders keepers, so to speak. Even if Tang Haofei disagrees, it wouldn’t hurt to ask...

Wen Yu’s bandit-like logic started to take over his mind again...

Having said that, Wen Yu led everyone directly to the most eye-catching building in the central area.

Originally, during the Sequence Member-Ranking Battle, the most eye-catching building in the Eternal Sky City was the Solon Arena. But now, Tang Haofei might have used his authority to move the Solon Arena elsewhere. After all, for the Human Race at present, the value of such a skill competition arena is quite low.

In its place was a vast expanse of neat, futuristic buildings.

This will probably become a wealthy district or a military restricted zone in the future, Wen Yu mused.

Standing in the center of this area was a tall, tower-like building.

According to Wen Yu’s visual estimation, the tower had to be over 2,000 meters tall, more than twice the height of the world’s tallest building in the real world, the Dubai Tower. Of course, Wen Yu wouldn’t be surprised even if black technology were used to construct a tower tens of thousands of meters high.

Being tall had its advantages; at least it was eye-catching...

At least, when Wen Yu had asked Tang Haofei for his location, Tang Haofei had simply said he was at the highest point, and Wen Yu had understood immediately.

They strolled through the Eternal Sky City as if taking a leisurely walk.

The Eternal Sky City was currently very empty, like a giant ghost town. However, it was foreseeable that once the entry limit was lifted, it would be crammed full of professionists in a short time. The apocalypse had only just begun, and the overall environment was still relatively benign for humans. While the number of deaths wasn’t small, it definitely wasn’t excessive. This place was truly a ’relatively safe’ haven.

Even now, a Third-level magic crystal might not be considered a huge sum for many professionists!

One could imagine that when the Eternal Sky City eventually opened to all professionists, Lin Haifeng and Tang Haofei would surely have countermeasures, such as collecting tolls or... property speculation...

Oops, it seems I’ve let something slip...

Pushing the messy thoughts from his mind, Wen Yu continued to observe the surrounding streetscapes.

The architecture had a distinct sci-fi aesthetic. The buildings were neatly arranged, each one boxy and square, resembling gigantic iron coffins. Wen Yu casually walked over to one of the buildings, placed his hand on its outer wall, and pushed lightly.

Even when Wen Yu used his full strength, the wall remained undamaged, without even a hint of deformation. This was undoubtedly a product of black technology, which also served as a testament to the Eternal Sky City’s defense capabilities and strategic value.

Truly deserving of its title as a supreme treasure of the Human Race!

Thinking of this, Wen Yu suddenly felt a twinge of envy towards Tang Haofei...

A protagonist’s treatment truly is different!

As the saying goes, ”the destination looked closer than it was,” it took Wen Yu and his party a full three hours to finally reach the base of the tower.

Qin Shiyuan, panting for breath, apologized to everyone with an apologetic expression.

Wen Yu waved his hand dismissively, indicating that such a minor issue wasn’t worth an apology, then strode into the tower.

Inside the tower, soldiers in military uniforms and researchers in white lab coats bustled about. Now that they were here, the Eternal Sky City finally showed some signs of life.

After undergoing a series of procedures including identity verification, retinal scans, and genetic identification, Wen Yu finally reached the top floor of the tower.

In the main hall on the top floor, Tang Haofei and Lin Haifeng were loudly discussing a series of strategic plans concerning the Eternal Sky City.

”There’s no problem moving the Eternal Sky City directly above the Yanjing Assembly Site. Although it will obstruct sunlight from reaching the Yanjing Assembly Site, I have a way to solve the lighting issue.”

Lin Haifeng made this decision decisively, without even knitting his brows. Considering the sheer size of the Eternal Sky City, if it were to float above the Yanjing Assembly Site, it’s foreseeable that the Assembly Site would be plunged into a ’sunless’ predicament.

However, since Lin Haifeng said he had a solution, he likely did...

Moreover, this ’minor’ shortcoming couldn’t overshadow the benefits of positioning the Eternal Sky City above the Yanjing Assembly Site.

Like anything, there are pros and cons. If the Eternal Sky City hovered above the Yanjing Assembly Site, then the Yanjing Assembly Site and the Eternal Sky City could provide mutual support. In such a scenario, the security of both the Yanjing Assembly Site and the Eternal Sky City would be mutually enhanced, like adding an extra layer of insurance for each.

Furthermore, Lin Haifeng had a small ulterior motive...

Once the Eternal Sky City is located within Cathay’s borders and secured by such a major weapon, the safety of the Yanjing Assembly Site would be self-evident. The Eternal Sky City obviously cannot accommodate the entire population. Even if it could theoretically house everyone currently alive in the world, Tang Haofei and Lin Haifeng definitely wouldn’t do that. After all, comfort can blunt the primal instincts of living beings. When that time comes, for those unable to stay in the Eternal Sky City, residing in the Yanjing Assembly Site wouldn’t seem like a bad alternative either.

If that were to happen, the Yanjing Assembly Site would undoubtedly become the Human Race’s foremost defensive stronghold after the Eternal Sky City, and the most influential assembly site in the world!

Hearing Lin Haifeng’s explanation, Tang Haofei remained silent. After all, such matters definitely involved numerous hidden complexities, and Tang Haofei’s political acumen was far from outstanding.

If Lin Haifeng says so, then so be it, Tang Haofei thought.

Tang Haofei relented.

Just as this issue was concluded, Wen Yu arrived beside Tang Haofei and Lin Haifeng.

Lin Haifeng greeted Wen Yu, showing no intention of excluding him, and continued, ”I plan to install Kasu’s Land-Based Magic Light Sniper Cannon on the Eternal Sky City. Also, I wonder, can the Eternal Sky City be modified into the Black Tortoise?”

Tang Haofei nodded. ”We can try.”

”That’s good. I’ll have Wei Tian transferred over.”

Then, Lin Haifeng and Tang Haofei continued their discussion about various matters concerning the Eternal Sky City, completely ignoring Wen Yu and the others as if they weren’t there.
