Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Chapter 458: Chapter 63 Preparation and Start_2

After bidding farewell to Claus, Victor’s Double Body emerged from Wen Yu’s arms, following Claus away. With nothing to do, Wen Yu began to stroll aimlessly around the streets of Las Vegas.

...

The streets of Las Vegas were somewhat bustling. It was perhaps the only place for now where one could see Humans and mutant creatures coexisting harmoniously.

Tall mutant hounds ran back and forth gripping stones in their mouths, mutant bulls pulled newly fabricated transport carts made from wood, and from time to time, ’short’ professionists sprinted through the streets with large stacks of supplies.

With the Suppression of Victor and Claus, peaceful coexistence between Humans and mutant beasts had become possible.

These mutant beasts not only shouldered a large amount of transportation work, but they would also be the main force when it came to defending against the demon plague!

...

After a few hours, Wen Yu glanced over the defensive circle of Las Vegas—in truth, this was of no use because aside from fighting, he possessed no other specialties. To ask him to manage a city was to ask the impossible!

Seeing that everything before him was in order, Wen Yu leisurely returned to the Red Stone Hotel to wait.

Two weeks seemed neither long nor short, but undoubtedly, these would be the last peaceful moments in this world.

When the Demon Tribe invaded, it would signal the start of war, a war that might never end...

...

「Three days later.」

Eternal Sky City center—the Control Core.

On a vast white platform, a huge sphere of light almost three meters in diameter was emitting dazzling white light non-stop, with runes flickering around its surroundings from time to time, attesting to the immense defensive power here.

Tang Haofei stood quietly in front of the light sphere, looking at the giant orb that seemed to be alive with a twinge of emotion...

It had to be said, Lin Haifeng’s idea was brilliant, and he executed it beautifully!

After three days, Tang Haofei had managed to grasp the main functions and primary facilities of Eternal Sky City. But what he knew was just the tip of the iceberg compared to the vastness of the entire city.

Yet, even this small portion that he understood was enough to leave Tang Haofei stunned!

In my previous life... if we had this thing then, we could have held on for longer... No! If we use Eternal Sky City properly, the war potential of the Human Race could increase dozens of times!

Perhaps... we could... defeat the Demon Tribe!!!

Hope in Tang Haofei’s eyes grew stronger. With this in mind, Tang Haofei wasted no more time dwelling on it and instead focused on activating the teleportation array formation!

His own knowledge and power were ultimately limited, and Eternal Sky City was too vast, far too vast! He needed the support of the Military Academy!

Tang Haofei slowly reached out with his right hand and gently touched the white light sphere. Then, their consciousnesses connected...

A pleasant voice sounded in Tang Haofei’s mental world.

”Master, the Dominator of Eternal Sky City, awaits your command!”

”Activate the teleportation array formation, connect with all Exchange Stone Pillars on Earth!”

”Please wait!”

The white light on the Dominator slowly turned blue, and then, blue light surged out like a vast sheet of electricity, directly rushing to the central plaza of Eternal Sky City!

”The teleportation array formation is successfully activated. Current remaining energy: 0.03%... The Dominator of Eternal Sky City is about to enter hibernation mode...”

The sudden alarm left Tang Haofei dumbfounded.

”Wait, wait, wait... More energy is needed? How do we replenish it?”

”Solar power can sustain the normal operation of Eternal Sky City, but activating additional facilities, such as teleportation, Cultivation Grounds, Dimensional Space, arena, arms factory, etc., requires additional magic crystals to supplement energy.”

Tang Haofei was instantly under immense pressure...

It was predictable that this energy requirement would definitely not be small...

”Modify the teleportation array formation fee standard from free to 1 third-level magic crystal per teleport! Charge both ways!”

”Yes, My Lord!”

Charging a toll is normal, right? Tang Haofei thought to himself.

As for tolls... well, it was hard to make a judgment.

...

”DING. The teleportation channel of Eternal Sky City is now open. Touch any Exchange Stone Pillar to teleport to Eternal Sky City. The teleportation cost is one third-level magic crystal. It is currently open exclusively to Sequence-class individuals and a few designated personnel!”

At almost the same moment, all professionists across the world heard this news.

Wen Yu opened his eyes, a smile involuntarily forming on his lips.

What did the opening of the teleportation channel mean? It meant global connectivity! The advantage was self-evident! He just hadn’t expected Tang Haofei to turn the teleportation into a toll station. For an Independent, this would be a great way to make money, but for the Earth Community, Wen Yu found this approach a little perplexing.

It should be known that this teleportation array formation held a strategic value for the Earth Community far exceeding dozens of Esoteric Level skills! With it, troops could be rapidly transported. Even Wen Yu, a layman in military matters, understood how much this flexibility would enhance and amplify combat power. He couldn’t fathom what Tang Haofei was thinking...

Holding Cyclops, with Star perched on its head, Wen Yu walked straight out of the room, intending to go to Eternal Sky City to have a look.

...

He called Yang Hong to go with him and also contacted Qin Tian, Arthur, and Wang Fucai through the Independents Mutual Aid Federation’s emblem, agreeing on a meeting point in Eternal Sky City. Wen Yu then walked straight to an Exchange Stone Pillar next to the Red Stone Hotel and touched it.

Speaking of which, Wen Yu hadn’t used an Exchange Stone Pillar in a long time...

On it, in addition to the original interface, there was now an added teleportation option. When he opened it, the only name hanging there forlornly was Eternal Sky City.

Wen Yu did not rush to teleport. Instead, he narrowed his eyes and mentally repeated the steps he had just taken.

Eternal Sky City is one of the options in the teleportation selection box. This means that other teleportation destinations might appear in the future...

A second Eternal Sky City?

Stop kidding! Just by looking at the Dominator’s expression when Eternal Sky City was brought out, I knew the Dominator didn’t have a second one...

Perhaps it’s something else, Wen Yu thought. Then, his finger moved without stopping, directly clicking on the ”Eternal Sky City” option.

”Please pay the teleportation fee.”

Right, I forgot about that.

Wen Yu took out a third-level magic crystal from his space ring and placed it on the Exchange Stone Pillar. The teleportation light then enveloped Wen Yu, and in the next second, he was standing on the familiar plaza of Eternal Sky City.

In front of him, Yang Hong and Wang Fucai were waving vigorously at Wen Yu.

...

After meeting up with Yang Hong and Wang Fucai, it didn’t take long for Arthur and Qin Tian to teleport over as well.

Qin Tian, looking somewhat embarrassed, said to Wen Yu, ”Um, my sister doesn’t qualify for teleportation, you see...”

”It’s a small matter.”

Wen Yu remembered this too, so he immediately contacted Tang Haofei to explain the situation.

It didn’t take long. When Qin Tian teleported back again, he was accompanied by a young woman in her twenties.

Qin Tian had likely explained the situation to his sister in advance. As a woman of the new era, Qin Shiyuan, apart from fainting at the sight of blood, wasn’t shy. She greeted everyone generously, ”Hello everyone, my name is Qin Shiyuan. Please take care of me in the future.”

The group smiled and returned Qin Shiyuan’s greeting. Only Wang Fucai was shaking his head, ”Alas... messing with seniority isn’t right... Speaking of which, your age isn’t even...”

Wang Fucai stopped mid-sentence. Suddenly, he fell silent.

Heartrending departures were a common story in the apocalypse...

”Let’s go and take a look around.”

Wen Yu changed the subject and took the lead towards the exit of the plaza.

...

The area of Eternal Sky City is 1,000,000 square kilometers!

Many people don’t have a good grasp of this figure. To put it into perspective with a simple comparison, the total area of the three East provinces of Cathay is 787,300 square kilometers (approximately 195 million acres).

This was equivalent to a small nation floating above Cathay. One can imagine the sheer grandeur of Eternal Sky City!

Of course, for Sequence-class experts, even those in the lower nineties of the Sequence rankings, crossing this distance on foot was a simple task—likely taking less than an hour. But now, they were accompanied by Qin Tian’s sister, and Qin Tian’s sister was a Peak Level 1 professionist...

This was rather awkward. After walking for nearly five minutes, they hadn’t even managed to leave the central plaza of Eternal Sky City.
