Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Chapter 455: Chapter 62: An Extra Group! (Two-in-one, Extra Updates for June Tickets.)_1

When Wen Yu had finished outlining the organization’s goals and general regulations, everyone nodded in agreement.

It must be said that with no responsibilities or obligations to bear, and having the prestige of Sequence Number 2 to fend off both open invitations and covert threats from the military, this was a lucrative deal without investment!

Moreover, within the organization, you could make connections with powerful Independents and trade intelligence and needed items amongst each other. The benefits certainly outweighed the drawbacks—in fact, there were hardly any disadvantages at all!

These Sequencers were truly cunning!

However, would Wen Yu engage in such a cost-free transaction? Putting aside the hassle of dealing with those who might try to hide behind his reputation, wasn’t he giving away the rights to his name and likeness for free?

Amidst the lively chaos, Carmille, seated to Wen Yu’s left, caught everyone’s attention with a couple of light coughs before gently speaking up.

”Um, I have a question. I’m currently in Italy, but with the demon plague looming, I’d like a quiet place to paint. President, could you offer me protection?”

Carmille’s sparkling eyes were fixed on Wen Yu. However, her gaze held a hint of humor that only the two of them seemed to understand.

A plant... a classic part of the setup...

...

Wen Yu pretended to ponder for a while before nodding.

”It’s possible. However, due to the loose structure of our organization, I can’t guarantee if any of you are spies or undercover agents working for the military or other organizations. In simple words, I can’t fully trust you.”

”Therefore...”

Wen Yu activated the 5th Soul Realm and summoned Victor.

Victor’s injuries had mostly healed, and he was expected to fully recover within a day.

While stroking Victor’s soft fur, Wen Yu cheerfully told Carmille, ”I need to examine some of your innermost thoughts. Once you pass, I can provide you full protection! And I personally guarantee that this examination poses no risks to you!”

Carmille’s brow furrowed as if she were battling with a decision. After a moment, she reluctantly nodded.

”Let’s conduct the examination here then. If anything goes wrong, your organization’s influence will be all washed up.”

Wen Yu chuckled, then directed Carmille to make eye contact with Victor...

And then...

”Examination over. You can find me in Las Vegas! And I will create an ideal space for you to focus on your painting!”

...

The so-called examination... had actually already been completed more than ten hours prior...

At the time, in Carmille’s room, Carmille insisted on staying by Wen Yu’s side for a peaceful painting environment. So, naturally, Wen Yu had to discern her true intentions through Victor’s Dream Shaping Ability.

Turns out, this woman only wanted a quiet place to draw...

And then, using Carmille as the plant naturally followed. In truth, if Carmille hadn’t come forward, he planned to use the old Taoist priest for the same purpose. Carmille’s effect, of course, was much better!

With Sequence Number 8 Carmille taking the lead, it not only dispelled the doubts of the crowd below but also proved Wen Yu’s upfront intentions. Honestly, Wen Yu had never considered using Victor to Control these people. The backlash if he failed was too severe! But in order to truly bring them to his side, and ensure they harbored no harmful intentions towards him, this step was necessary!

This was Wen Yu’s ultimate goal—the Independents Mutual Aid Federation was merely a facade. Underneath it, he planned to form a Strong Power squad that was under his full control!

Currently, the squad had four members.

Sequence Number 2 - Wen Yu.

Sequence Number 8 - Carmille.

Sequence Number 13 - Wang Fucai.

Sequence Number 82 - Yang Hong.

But that’s all for now...

...

”I want to follow you too...”

The surprise came so unexpectedly!

Wen Yu turned to look at the Heavy Armored Knight at his side.

Sequence Number 15 - Arthur!

”Oh?”

Wen Yu raised an eyebrow. ”Why?”

Arthur leaned back in his chair, his back still straight as a rod, and with a warm smile gracing his face as if it were the spring equinox, answered deliberately, ”I just think that following you would make my life filled with battles and adventures.”

Wen Yu nodded affirmatively, ”Definitely! But the intensity of the battles might be too much for you to handle.”

Wen Yu had a peculiar fondness for knights, a sentiment he inherited from William.

”Well then, let’s start the examination...”

...

This time, the examination was not sugar-coated.

As soon as Arthur fell asleep, Victor directly ventured into his Dreamland to gauge his true intentions.

After a while, Victor opened his eyes and nodded at Wen Yu.

Wen Yu woke Arthur up and, extending his right hand to him, said, ”Welcome to come and find me in Las Vegas, my friend!”

...

After that, no one else chose to go to Wen Yu.

The reason a cliche is a cliche is that most people are aware of it—which in essence, decreases its effectiveness and feasibility!

Strictly speaking, this was everyone’s first meeting with Wen Yu. It’s only normal for them to be wary—Independents are generally very suspicious.

Perhaps they didn’t want to give up their current lifestyles, or they had other intentions—Wen Yu was certain of it! He didn’t have to guess; out of the twenty-two people present, there were definitely several who came to gather information!
