Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Chapter 457: Chapter 63 Preparation and Start_1

After bidding farewell to Tang Haofei, Wen Yu took Qin Tian back to their room, where they discussed the specific meeting time with the squad members.

Qin Tian, Arthur, and the old Taoist priest would be able to come to Las Vegas directly when the Eternal Sky City opened, but Carmille might take longer. This was because he had a divine beast companion. Mutant beasts couldn’t use the Exchange Stone Pillar, and thus naturally couldn’t enter the Eternal Sky City.

Carmille’s arrival would certainly be delayed, but he should be able to arrive before the demon plague.

After sending everyone off, Wen Yu finally had some spare time.

The tasks didn’t seem numerous, but they were trivial. For Wen Yu, these things were less satisfying than a battle with the Demon Tribe!

What a pity...

Wen Yu sighed.

Circumstances beyond my control...

Whether it was the military, the Demon Tribe, or the Dominator, all of them needed him to improve his strength as much as possible, but an individual’s power was always limited.

For Wen Yu, a strong squad might be the best choice.

Outside the Eternal Sky City, the folds in the air had completely dissipated. The clear blue sky and warm sunlight fell upon the Eternal Sky City, notifying everyone currently there that the descent had ended, and the time to leave had arrived.

Closing his eyes slightly, the light of teleportation enveloped Wen Yu’s body. The next second, Wen Yu appeared in his room at the Red Stone Hotel.

He looked at the wall clock. One day had passed, not a second more, not a second less.

Outside the Red Stone Hotel, clamorous sounds penetrated the building’s walls and reached Wen Yu’s ears, proof that the reconstruction of Las Vegas was progressing vigorously.

Today, there were still 14 days left until the demon plague arrived—two weeks.

”It’s over... We gained quite a lot,” Yang Hong said to Wen Yu, a hint of excitement in his voice as he briefly adjusted to the Dizziness from the teleportation.

Wen Yu nodded.

This Sequence Member-Ranking Battle not only provided generous rewards but, more importantly, led to the establishment of the Independents Mutual Aid Federation and the imminent arrival of Qin Tian and the others.

Although Wen Yu still wasn’t entirely convinced by the idea of ”strength in numbers,” forming a squad that relied closely on him was imperative. It would help avoid future unwanted attention and schemes against him, and it was necessary to face the incoming demonic tide.

Moreover, the teammates Wen Yu had chosen were so strong that he wouldn’t have to worry much. Usually, they would each do their own thing, only teaming up when a situation truly arose. Essentially, this squad was just a smaller version of the Independents Mutual Aid Federation, designed to give Wen Yu peace of mind and foster closer ties.

Thinking of this, Wen Yu said directly to Yang Hong beside him, ”When they arrive, you’ll be in charge of receiving them. Also, regarding the Independents Mutual Aid Federation, I’ll need you to put more effort into it. If you’re unwilling, let Claus be the Head of Internal Affairs.”

Yang Hong laughed. ”Willing, of course. These things won’t be much trouble.”

Wen Yu nodded. ”That’s good.”

Then, Wen Yu led Yang Hong out of the room and headed downstairs.

As soon as Wen Yu stepped out of the Red Stone Hotel’s main entrance, he saw Claus approaching with Victor’s Double Body.

Claus’s voice carried from a distance, ”Victor said you were back. How was the haul?”

”Quite substantial.”

Wen Yu stepped forward and directly hugged Victor’s Double Body.

Victor’s Double Body, with an unwilling expression, nudged Wen Yu’s arm, but its strength was no match for Wen Yu’s. In the end, it could only lift its head proudly and shift into a more comfortable position.

Stroking Victor’s soft fur, Wen Yu pondered for a moment and decided to tell Claus about the Independents Mutual Aid Federation.

Since Wen Yu had chosen Las Vegas as his base, Claus, as the ruler of Las Vegas, was an indispensable figure he couldn’t bypass. Furthermore, given Claus’s relationship with Victor, forcing things wouldn’t work.

Claus, however, showed great enthusiasm for the Independents Mutual Aid Federation, especially when Wen Yu mentioned that four more top-tier experts would soon be arriving.

This also showed that Claus had very few selfish motives; his objective was pure: to ensure the humans on this land could continue to thrive.

Under these circumstances, Wen Yu bringing more people to Las Vegas was good news for Claus.

He briefly surveyed the bustling construction site.

Thanks to the combined efforts of professionists and mutant beasts, the city wall construction was mostly complete in a short period.

The city wall’s perimeter was extensive. Although it wasn’t very high and its sturdiness was insufficient, managing to erect it in such a short time was already a minor miracle.

Moreover, the city wall’s purpose was merely to defend against the initial impact of the demon plague, to prevent the defensive facilities from being flattened in one go. To completely repel the demon plague, the city wall was of little use; the focus still had to be on actual strength.

Furthermore, Claus and Victor had already devised a preliminary defense plan for the upcoming demon plague. Of course, Wen Yu didn’t ask for details—he wouldn’t understand them even if he did. Besides, when the demon plague first descended, Wen Yu definitely wouldn’t be participating in the defense of Las Vegas; he needed to deal with the Demon Hunting Group.
