Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Chapter 479: Chapter 75: Soul Battlefield! _1

”Hehe.” Marcus smirked mysteriously. ”Since I’m here to kill you, how could I not be prepared for the Soul Battlefield?”

Then, Marcus warmly greeted Wen Yu, ”Hello, Sequence Number 2, long time no see! Also, this three-eyed, six-armed Blue Skin Demon has been blocked by me. Are you sure you don’t want to kill him? The Sequence-class Hunting Group won’t stop until they achieve their goal...”

Wen Yu’s eyes suddenly narrowed. The situation seems to be getting complicated...

...

Soul Battlefield (Species-specific Esoteric Level, Active Skills): Upon activation, the host’s body instantly merges with the target unit’s body, initiating the Soul Battlefield. Within the Soul Battlefield, both parties’ physical attributes remain unchanged, but they can only use Soul Skills and Soul-Armored. Once the Soul War concludes with a clear victor, the winning party will devour the loser’s soul, thereby increasing their Soul Strength!

Note: Soul Strength can enhance the host’s physical attributes in the Soul Battlefield! It also enhances the effects of Soul Skills!

Note: This skill can only be blocked by a few soul defense Species-specific Esoteric Level skills! No other skill can prevent the opening of the Soul Battlefield! It also disregards level differences!

Argus hadn’t possessed the Soul Battlefield for long. His original Skill System was more suited for concealment and intelligence gathering. However, after acquiring the Soul Battlefield, the situation immediately changed!

The terrifying aspect of the Soul Battlefield ability lay in its growth potential. After obtaining it, Argus devoured some lower-level Demon Fiends, greatly enhancing his Soul Strength. This, coupled with the Soul Battlefield’s near-indefensible nature, caused Argus’s power to surge dramatically. He even became one of the stronger demon spawn in the Hunting Group!

But...

Argus narrowed his eyes, quickly scanning his surroundings. The Crystal Stone in Marcus’s hand was a means of soul defense—such items were disposable consumables, extremely rare among the Demon Tribe, and mainly possessed by higher-level demon spawn.

It seems highly likely that the Ancient Demon Tribe’s high command ordered Marcus to hunt me down! So...

Argus quickly calculated, then turned, his entire body transforming into a stream of blue light and instantly penetrating Wen Yu’s body, who was not far behind.

...

Argus’s idea was simple. Marcus and Sequence Number 4 were inside the barrier, while the Giant Beast and the unknown professionist had already fled a considerable distance. The only one he could catch was Wen Yu, who was nearby.

If I engage Sequence Number 2 in a Soul Battlefield, the body will still belong to Wen Yu until the Soul War has a winner. Once I win, Wen Yu’s body will instantly transform into my appearance. And before that... there’s a high chance Sequence Number 4 will protect the body while it still looks like Wen Yu’s. I can then bide my time within the Soul Battlefield until the energy in Marcus’s Crystal Stone is exhausted! At that point, my Soul Battlefield will be the most unstoppable skill among everyone present! I definitely have to take Marcus down then! After that, I won’t bother hunting Earth creatures anymore! I’ll specifically target the Ancient Demon Tribe! If I take down the strongest Level 5 Demon Seed of the Ancient Demon Tribe—Ray, Jean, Marcus... That situation would surely be interesting...

As Argus thought this, he felt his consciousness being drawn away. The next second, he found himself in a vast, pure white space.

Not far away, Sequence Number 2 was curiously examining the space, a black sphere pulsating softly on his shoulder...

”Soul Master?!” Argus looked at Sequence Number 2 with a troubled expression and couldn’t help but exclaim.

...

While Wen Yu was racking his brains, trying to figure out how the situation had changed, he saw the three-eyed, six-armed Blue Skin Demon instantly transform into a streak of blue light and then shoot into his mind.

I’ve been trapped! Wen Yu thought.

Time seemed to freeze. Wen Yu felt himself drifting in a boundless void for an unknown duration before being pulled into a pure white space.

He quickly glanced around and then carefully examined his own body.

Earlier, while preparing, he had entered a combat state and recalled Star and Cyclops to the Soul Realm space. Now, however, his combat state was forcibly deactivated. Furthermore, he couldn’t sense the Soul Realm space at all—it was completely blocked!

Then, Wen Yu tried to enter his combat state again—it worked! This is definitely good news!

He then tested all his skills and immediately discovered that, in this space, he couldn’t use any of his active skills. This means my strongest abilities are completely sealed!

Just then, a cry of surprise came from the other side, ”Soul Master?!”

...

Hearing the voice, Wen Yu immediately looked up and saw an uncomfortable-looking Argus.

Facing this peculiar situation, Wen Yu didn’t dare to act recklessly.

Unfortunately, there’s a language barrier... Wen Yu couldn’t understand what the demon spawn was saying.

Before Wen Yu could devise a countermeasure, the demon spawn opposite him began to move.

Simultaneously, words in the Demon Realm Language clearly issued from the demon spawn’s mouth.
