Wilderness Survival with Druid System

The night before departure.

Chen Wen once again came to the side of Hook. He didn’t ask anything, just silently packed his things.

Hook watched Chen Wen from the side, quietly gathering strength.

As Chen Wen walked to Hook and planned to untie the rope and lift Hook onto the camel.

Hook suddenly launched an attack.

Taking advantage of the moment Chen Wen untied the rope, Hook swiftly reached out his claws, grabbing at Chen Wen’s hand.

He wanted to force Chen Wen to retreat, thereby achieving the purpose of breaking free from his restraints.

But Chen Wen, seasoned in survival, wasn’t so easily dealt with.

As soon as Hook assumed an attacking posture, Chen Wen immediately reacted.

[Swift] kicked in, guess his speed.

Chen Wen quickly pulled back his arm, dodging Hook’s strike.

Hook was delighted.

Just as he was about to spread his wings and fly away, breaking free, leaving the sky and sea boundless.

Chen Wen’s hand, like a ghost, suddenly grabbed at the air above Hook.

It seemed like a miss, but as Hook took flight, Chen Wen steadily caught the soaring Hook.

Stable, accurate, ruthless!

Chen Wen grabbed Hook by the neck, and before Hook could respond, he fiercely slammed him to the ground.

Hook felt as if he was caught by iron pincers.

The next second, a severe sense of weightlessness hit him.

He crashed hard onto the ground.

When Hook struggled to get up, dizzy and disoriented, Chen Wen had already tied his legs together again with a rope.

Meanwhile, the nearby eagle-eye hawk was eyeing him fiercely.

It wouldn’t hesitate to kill just because Hook was a distant relative.

On the contrary, the eagle-eye hawk was quite interested in Hook’s flesh!

Noticing the commotion, the others glanced over.

Chen Wen waved his hand and explained, ”It’s nothing, you guys keep busy. I’ll check if it can be of use. If not, I’ll get rid of it. We can’t let unstable elements travel with us.”

With that, Chen Wen looked at Hook, a bit of anger flaring up inside him.

This was the first time an intelligent animal actively attacked him.

Previous animals either accepted Chen Wen’s terms and became friends, or they exchanged entries and parted peacefully.

Only this Hook didn’t provide any entry and even actively attacked Chen Wen.

[Wise]’s personality really isn’t a good trait!

Chen Wen took a deep breath, missing Wolf Mink’s [Gluttony] and the red fox’s [Slyness].

After Hook’s escape plan failed, he stopped disguising.

He looked fiercely at Chen Wen, but inside, he was a bit puzzled.

What just happened?

How was this two-legged creature so fast?

While Hook was lost in thought.

Chen Wen picked up a dagger and walked up to Hook.

He looked at Hook, his gaze unwavering: ”Do you want to die or live?”

Hook was stunned, not expecting Chen Wen to be so direct.

Sticking to the principle of losing the fight but not the dignity, Hook shouted, ”If you have the guts, kill me then!”

But the next second.

Chen Wen decisively thrust the dagger toward Hook.

Just as the dagger was about to touch Hook’s body, Hook, who realized what was happening, immediately struggled to retract: ”I want to live! I want to live!”

The dagger suddenly stopped a few centimeters away from Hook’s body.

Chen Wen stared at Hook and said, ”You want to live? Then why did you ignore the conditions I told you before?”

Upon hearing this, Hook couldn’t help but flap his wings, ”You humans are untrustworthy!”

”Why?”

”Hmph, you said that if I joined you, I’d be well-fed and unharmed, but I’ve been hungry all this time!”

Hearing this, Chen Wen shook his head helplessly, ”What I meant was that after you joined, I’d provide you with food. You’re not part of the group yet, are you?”

Hook’s tone froze.

He thought for a while and coldly hummed, ”I didn’t join you because I was attacked by humans multiple times before meeting you! I don’t know if you noticed, but my previous home wasn’t just for me!”

This statement made Chen Wen pause for a moment.

He really hadn’t noticed.

When observing Hook’s nest, he only identified the location, not how many Hooks it could accommodate.

Although Hooks travel in groups, Chen Wen always thought this solitary Hook was a single, unattached one without a flock.

Now it seems there’s another story here!

He thought for a moment and said, ”I really hadn’t noticed that. You mean you had a flock before, but they disappeared because of humans?”

Upon hearing this, Hook’s eyes flashed with hatred: ”They were killed by you humans! Don’t you know that!”

Chen Wen shook his head and genuinely said, ”I really don’t know. While humans often gather in groups, the people attacking you weren’t with me, just like how some flocks of Hook operate here, and others operate further away. Do you get what I mean?”

Hook shook his head, feeling a bit lost.

However, he understood that the humans who attacked his flock had nothing to do with Chen Wen.

Hook fell silent for a while, then said, ”Fine, even if it has nothing to do with you, didn’t you catch me? How are you any different from those humans?”

”There is a difference, a big one. At least I didn’t intend to kill you at first. If you hadn’t stolen my food, I wouldn’t even care about you.”

Chen Wen remained sincere and honest.

This surprised Hook a bit and made him realize he was at fault.

Eventually, Hook said, ”Alright, it was wrong of me to steal your food. I was just too hungry when I saw that dead bird, I couldn’t help it. I’m sorry.”

”It’s okay, I don’t mind, it’s just a bird.”

Chen Wen said, and then added, ”As for your companions being attacked by humans, I’m sorry about that.”

Hook was silent for a while, then shook his head, ”It’s not your fault. As you said, our Hook flocks don’t communicate with each other. If other Hooks harm humans, it’s not related to us, so there’s no need for you to apologize.”

While saying this, Hook showed some confusion.

He’s now unsure of what to do next.

Seeing Hook’s lost appearance, Chen Wen thought of the Snowy Owl.

The Snowy Owl had followed Chen Wen for revenge, and in the end, his wish was fulfilled as the mercenaries who killed his mate and offspring died in the snow.

But Hook’s situation was different from the Snowy Owl’s.

Hook didn’t even know who attacked his flock, let alone talk about revenge.

After pondering for a moment, Chen Wen said to Hook, ”How about this, while I can’t help you find out who attacked you, I can ask around with the humans here. If they have any information, I’ll let you know, and you can decide whether to stay or leave.”

Upon hearing this, Hook looked at Chen Wen blankly.

He hesitated for a long time and then said, ”Forget it. If I leave you, there’s no way I’d ever know about those humans. So as long as you ask, no matter if you get the information or not, I’ll stay and help you.”

After saying this, Hook looked sadly at the sky.

Now that he had gained wisdom, recalling past events made him uncontrollably sad.

Seeing Hook’s expression, Chen Wen sighed.

Finally, after a word with Hua Yun, he headed towards where the local people resided.

This matter could only be asked of Hook to see if he had any information.

If Hook didn’t have any information, then there was nothing Chen Wen could do.
