Wilderness Survival with Druid System

As the locals gathered in front of Hook’s room.

Chen Wen and Dennis walked out of the room alongside Hook.

Upon seeing Chen Wen and Dennis, who were clearly survivors, the locals didn’t have a pleasant look on their faces.

At this moment, Hook, who was relatively familiar with Chen Wen, stepped in as the middleman.

He raised his hand, signaling everyone to look at him.

Then he explained everything that had been discussed with Chen Wen earlier.

Upon hearing that Chen Wen was willing to help drive away the wasps, the locals’ expressions began to change.

However, as for how to get rid of the wasps, even though the locals had watched quite a few video tutorials, they were still unclear on how to proceed in reality.

So, someone asked, ”How do you plan to drive away these wasps?”

”There are many methods to drive them away.”

Looking at the person, Chen Wen said, ”You can use fire, pesticides, even water, gasoline, and so on, but the specific use depends on the actual situation and the materials you can provide to drive away the wasps.”

These words made sense.

Compared to those who immediately propose a solution, the way Chen Wen spoke gave off a different vibe.

It sounded very trustworthy.

Everyone nodded, and their doubts about Chen Wen decreased significantly.

”Then could someone take us to the wasps’ nest to have a look?”

Chen Wen looked at Hook.

He nodded and said, ”I’ll take you there.”

With Hook leading the way, Chen Wen and he headed to the vicinity of the wasp nest Hook mentioned.

But before they arrived, Chen Wen saw wasps flying scattered in the air.

”These wasps are the ones you attracted.”

Hook looked up and said, watching the wasps in the sky.

Chen Wen nodded slightly.

Judging by the behavior of these wasps, they’re not occupying the original wasp nest.

This signifies that there are definitely quite a number of wasps in the original wasp nest!

Therefore, Chen Wen abandoned the method of manually killing the wasps.

Manual killing of wasps can only be used when the wasp population is small.

In the face of a large swarm, it’s useless.

Arrived at the wasp nest.

Hook stopped about twenty meters from the nest.

”The current wasp swarm is very agitated, twenty meters is already their limit of tolerance; getting any closer will cause them to explode!”

Chen Wen nodded without saying much.

He stood by, observing the situation of the wasp nest.

It was an abandoned camper; the camper wasn’t very large and had been deserted for quite some time.

From the damaged body of the camper, one could see inside.

Chen Wen noticed the paper-ball-like nest hanging in the middle of the camper.

It’s likely ordinary yellow wasps, but the nest is much smaller than the one he previously took away.

”Dealing with this nest shouldn’t be very difficult.”

Chen Wen said.

He noticed quite a few wasp corpses on the ground, seemingly casualties from a conflict between two wasp swarms.

Upon hearing Chen Wen’s words, Hook sighed in relief. ”It’s good if it’s not difficult, how do you plan to deal with it?”

”Let’s see what materials you can provide.”

Chen Wen said, ”If you have pesticides or insect repellents, we can try poisoning.”

”If you don’t have these things, I have another method, though a little slower but more stable, which is the sugar water trapping method using sugarcane and water bottles.”

”If you have none of these, then use that flamethrower in your room, and at that time, you’ll hide in the room, and I’ll wear protective clothing to directly burn them.”

Upon hearing Chen Wen’s methods, Hook was filled with respect.

Goodness, this young man really knows his stuff!

I thought he was just bragging before!

Chen Wen was also recalling the materials he researched.

Before coming, he found pest control information on a forestry bureau website in a certain city while researching domestically.

The methods he just mentioned were from the materials he had seen.

But to determine how effective they are, they still need testing.

”We need to hurry up; wasp returning to the nest tonight is the easiest time to catch them all in one sweep.”

Chen Wen said, ”Let’s go back and see what you can provide.”

Hook immediately led Chen Wen back to his house.

After Hook’s interpretation, the locals’ trust in Chen Wen increased again.

Under Hook’s suggestion, everyone went home, searching for materials according to Chen Wen’s requirements.

About ten minutes later, a pile of stuff gathered in front of Hook’s house.

Chen Wen walked to the pile and carefully identified them.

He noticed someone brought a large mineral water barrel, and there’s a lot of sugar cane next to it.

”Then let’s try the sugar water trapping method first and see if it can attract the wandering wasps.”

Chen Wen spoke and started his action.

Wasps don’t produce honey, but they eat honey.

To be precise, they consume any food that provides energy.

Thus, sugar water is highly attractive to wasps.

Using sugar water to lure wasps to crawl into the mineral water bottles.

Once inside, they’ll slide down the smooth bottle walls and drown in the sugar water.

Theoretically, this method is definitely feasible.

Theoretically feasible, let’s begin practice!

Based on his memories, Chen Wen mixed sugar cane and water at approximately a one-to-one ratio to make sugar water.

And the sugar water occupies about one-third of the mineral water barrel’s capacity.

After making the sugar water trap, Chen Wen brought it along with Hook intending to place it close to the wasp nest.

At this time, the young men of the town got interested.

They all followed Chen Wen, wanting to see how he dealt with the wasps.

Leading a crew of about ten, Chen Wen’s group arrived near the nest.

”You all stay back; I’ll go set the trap alone.”

Chen Wen signaled everyone to stop at twenty meters away, and he, taking advantage of the still-effective [insect repellent], slowly approached the twenty-meter safety line Hook mentioned.

With Chen Wen’s entrance, there was evident commotion near the wasp nest.

Clearly, his approach had caught the attention of the wasps.

Seeing this, the local natives were startled, retreating in fear, not daring to get closer.

Hook also watched anxiously, unsure whether to call Chen Wen back.

But Chen Wen ignored all that.

With the [insect repellent] effect observed, the originally agitated wasps quieted down upon smelling the scent emanating from Chen Wen.

In their simple world, current Chen Wen seemed like a walking Manzheti tree, without any threat.

Chen Wen placed the sugar water trap about five meters from the nest.

Only then did he carefully retreat.

When the locals saw Chen Wen get that close without getting stung, they, like Hook, were filled with admiration.

This guy certainly knows his stuff!

Being this close without getting stung!

Once Chen Wen retreated, the native young men immediately surrounded him, curiously looking at him.

”How did you do it?”

”Why didn’t the wasps sting you?”

”Can you control the wasps?”

...

With the native young men’s buzzing questions, Chen Wen started feeling a headache.

Fortunately, Hook walked over with a stern expression, waving to disperse everyone.

The young men seemed quite afraid of Hook and didn’t continue asking, instead, watching Chen Wen’s sugar water trap, waiting for it to take effect.

Chen Wen was about to say the sugar water trap might take a while to work.

But then Hook immediately widened his eyes: ”Fuck! Look! A wasp is attracted!”

Chen Wen looked over upon hearing this, and sure enough, a wasp intending to return to its nest wobbled and landed on the bottle mouth of the sugar water trap.

Upon seeing this, everyone held their breath and stared dumbfounded at the wasp.
