Wilderness Survival with Druid System

The chaos ended, and the indigenous people also put down their rifles with peace of mind and began to rest.

Over at Chen Wen’s side.

While on night watch, he was unaware of what was happening at the initial point.

He was still considering whether to take advantage of the night to create some disturbance at the initial point to see if he could cause losses to the Japanese and American teams.

Little did he know, he had already caused turmoil at the initial point through other means.

Soon, Hua Yun came to take over the shift.

Chen Wen rested as dawn quietly arrived during Hua Yun’s watch.

The next day, the weather was absurdly good.

The azure blue sky made people uneasy, as if it had been washed by something.

”With this kind of weather, by noon, the temperature is estimated to reach over forty degrees, and the ground temperature could be fifty to sixty degrees!”

Upon seeing the sky, the local Dennis couldn’t help but gasp in shock.

He had his own set of skills for judging the weather.

”What can we do? Your Australian predecessors came up with such a bad idea,”

Adam joked.

Ninety percent of the Desert Extreme Challenge’s rules were researched by previous Australian survivors.

Dennis followed with a curse: ”That bunch of old folks, hmm, our association now has no shortage of newcomers cursing them every year. After all, as local Australian contestants, failing the Desert Extreme Challenge is quite an embarrassing thing to admit.”

At this time, Fred walked out.

He glanced at everyone’s canteens, then signaled for everyone to finish the water in their canteens.

He intended to go fetch water.

Chen Wen glanced at his own canteen. Their canteens were common military ones, with a capacity of 1.2 liters.

Yesterday, Chen Wen had seized the canteens of Kuroki and Matsuyama.

They could obtain about 8.4 liters of water daily in their camp.

An adult needs about 2 liters of water a day, and this amount is higher when moving in the desert.

Therefore, Fred had to go fetch water at least twice a day.

He didn’t want to waste time.

Upon hearing this, everyone drank up the remaining water.

Chen Wen even tried the effect of [Imbibe], finishing Kuroki and Matsuyama’s remaining water as well.

He drank close to two liters by himself.

This amount was incredibly terrifying.

Hua Yun, standing beside Chen Wen, was somewhat surprised.

Was he that thirsty?

After hesitating, Hua Yun handed over the remaining half of his canteen to Chen Wen, gesturing for him to have some.

Chen Wen waved his hand: ”I can’t drink anymore, if I do, I’ll throw up.”

Saying this, Chen Wen suppressed the water that was about to reach his throat, triggering [Imbibe].

The water that originally filled his digestive system seemed to suddenly disappear.

And under [Disguise], Chen Wen’s body slightly swelled.

So that’s how it is, storing water in the body and drawing it directly when needed.

Chen Wen felt he had understood the workings of [Imbibe].

Soon, Chen Wen felt he was no longer lacking water.

Under the combined effects of [Imbibe] water storage, [Drought Resistance], and [Cactus Quality].

The water he drank this time seemed enough for ten days.

After handing all canteens to Fred, Chen Wen instructed: ”When you go fetch water this time, also pay attention to gathering some intelligence, and try to find out which teams have conflicts.”

Upon hearing this, Dennis, who was keen-minded, already thought of something.

He smiled and said: ”Planning to play a trick on them?”

”More or less. If there are conflicts among our enemies, we can take advantage of them,”

Chen Wen said with a smile: ”No matter who gets eliminated, it’s good for us.”

Dennis nodded, but he couldn’t help but ask, looking at the simple Fred: ”Can Fred do it? Of course, I don’t mean to underestimate him, but it feels like...”

Shouldn’t tasks like this be done by those who seem cleverer?

Chen Wen explained: ”Relax, Fred is fine. The more someone like him goes to ask, the more the other side will let their guard down and won’t think too much. But if you or I go, they’ll immediately see our intentions.”

”True, then I’ll get busy with my tasks.”

Dennis nodded and began to maintain the camp’s sanitation.

After handling the cleaning, he also had to collect firewood. Once these small tasks were finished, he had to slaughter and segment the camel and divide the meat.

Over on Adam’s side, he collected quite a few sticks, planning to make bird traps.

”When changing the camel skin, I’ll go with Dennis to exchange for some grains as bait.”

Seeing Chen Wen ready to go out, Adam said.

Chen Wen nodded, agreeing to Adam’s request: ”Just make the exchanges as you see fit, preferably for more grains, those that can be stored for a long time since we shouldn’t be short on meat this trip.”

Adam thought for a moment, then nodded.

On their side, Adam hunted with traps, Hua Yun hunted with a bow, Chen Wen hunted with a long spear, and Fred was also skilled at dealing with large animals.

Overall, meat indeed wasn’t scarce.

So they might as well exchange for more grains and the like.

Once Adam decided on the supplies to exchange, he began to busy himself.

Chen Wen took his slingshot, searching for ammunition—round stones—as he walked.

But looking for stones in the desert felt a bit like searching for a needle in a haystack.

Chen Wen shook his head, giving up on the search, planning to look in the desert and wasteland later.

...

Over at Fred’s side.

After receiving Chen Wen’s permission, he almost immediately headed to the initial point.

There, Fred first went to find Oleg, intending to ask about the situation.

But at a glance at the camp, he noticed something was off.

”Shit, this place looks like it’s been through a war!”

Fred was shocked looking at the camp, which belonged to the Portuguese.

Their camp looked like it had been hit by a herd of elephants, turned into a mess.

Especially the wood serving as the main beam was dotted with various holes, as if shot out by arrows.

”What happened here?”

Confused, Fred went directly to Oleg to ask about the situation.

After learning about last night’s chaos, Fred was stunned.

”Chen Wen was very foresighted not to come over, otherwise he would have suffered great losses last night.”

Seeing Chen Wen’s team intact, Ivan beside him remarked with some emotion.

He had also previously considered the possibility of chaos on the first night, but he hadn’t expected the turmoil to be so severe.

Oleg said: ”Indeed, whether it’s the American team or Japanese team, they have strong vigilance against Chen Wen. If chaos broke out, last night Chen Wen would surely be the most targeted one, even other teams might not stop.”

After bidding his compatriots farewell, Fred continued to wander around the initial point for a while.

After noting down the situation there, he then fetched water and left.
