Wilderness Survival with Druid System

After slaughtering the camel.

Chen Wen and Dennis took the camel skin to trade with the indigenous people for supplies.

But it didn’t come as a surprise.

As the two approached a house, the owner of the house, a man who looked somewhat like a black person, came out with an alert expression.

Chen Wen looked at this man curiously.

Before coming, he had seen in the association’s materials that the indigenous people of Australia were called the brown race.

The fourth race beyond the three major races of yellow, white, and black.

But after experiencing Western colonization, these brown people had become almost no different from white people.

This could be seen just from the blue T-shirt he was wearing.

The man looked at the two and said, ”What are you here for again?”

Upon hearing this, Dennis communicated fluently with the man in the local language, ”I’m here again to trade for supplies.”

Saying this, he took out the camel skin he had and let the man see the condition of it.

Seeing the camel skin, the man was somewhat tempted, but he still said, ”No more trading!”

”Why?”

Dennis was a bit puzzled.

Didn’t they agree to trade last time?

Though the quantity was a bit less.

But the man showed a look of disgust: ”You people are too dangerous!”

”After discussing among our townspeople, we’ve unanimously decided not to trade with you anymore!”

Upon hearing this, Dennis quickly explained how he was different from that group, but the man remained unmoved, even making gestures to expel Dennis.

Seeing Dennis frustrated, Chen Wen asked Dennis what the man had said.

Dennis relayed the original words, helplessly saying, ”Maybe it was last night causing another disturbance, raising their guard, but it shouldn’t warrant a direct refusal, right?”

Chen Wen was also a bit confused.

He hesitated for a moment and then asked in English, ”Hello, may I ask why you are so firm in refusing this time? Did something happen again? Also, the rumors about our team are not true; those rumors were deliberately spread by our opposing team to tarnish our reputation.”

Upon hearing Chen Wen’s words, it seemed the man felt Chen Wen spoke more pleasantly.

His expression of disgust diminished slightly.

He said, ”Whether or not you’ve been slandered, this time, we’ve decided not to trade with any of you.”

Chen Wen was taken aback, realizing there must be a hidden reason.

He quickly asked the man in front of him what exactly had happened.

After hesitating for a while, the man said, ”It’s about what happened last night. I don’t know who from your side provoked a swarm of wasps, even the queen wasp was lured over. This morning, many of our people were frightened by the wasps, and several were stung.”

Hearing this, Chen Wen was stunned.

He thought the wasps had already left.

After all, at this time of year, wasps would surely be focused on establishing new nests quickly to survive the winter.

But the fact that the wasps came to this small town surprised Chen Wen.

He said sincerely, ”What exactly is the situation? This time, the wasps indeed caused you trouble. If possible, I hope you can tell me the details so we can try to drive away the wasps. We are quite good at this.”

Hearing Chen Wen’s words, the man also felt Chen Wen’s goodwill.

He thought for a moment and said, ”Alright, I’ll tell you the situation. Come inside the room to talk.”

Seeing this, Chen Wen and Dennis exchanged a look and put aside the thought of trading for supplies.

If they couldn’t solve the wasp problem, they wouldn’t be able to leave with a clear conscience.

After all, others may not know, but they themselves knew perfectly well who had provoked the wasps.

Therefore, this time Chen Wen was genuinely willing to help the indigenous people solve the wasp issue.

...

After entering the house of the local indigenous, Chen Wen instinctively observed the room.

It was no different from a normal household.

Except it was a bit small, looking a bit cramped.

In one corner of the room, a little girl who looked about six or seven years old was timidly watching the strangers coming in.

Chen Wen took a quick look; the little girl’s exposed skin showed no signs of stings.

This made him relieved.

The indigenous man gave a simple introduction: ”This is my daughter, Hedwig. Hedwig, don’t be afraid, they don’t look like bad people.”

Upon hearing this, Chen Wen smiled kindly at the little girl.

But she timidly hid behind the table, making Chen Wen feel awkward.

However, while Chen Wen was talking with the indigenous man, Hedwig cautiously peeked out from behind the table, curiously watching him and Dennis.

Over here.

The indigenous man gave a simple self-introduction: ”You can call me Hook. About the wasps, we actually often encounter wasps here.”

Hook continued, pointing west, ”Before you came, there was a wasp nest in an abandoned RV at the far west of the town. There were many wasps, but this group of wasps has always coexisted peacefully with us.”

”But starting from last night, a new group of wasps that your side provoked came here. As soon as they arrived, they clashed with the previous wasp group, and the two groups of wasps fought. This morning, someone passing by that RV was attacked by the previous wasp group.”

As he spoke, Hook took out his phone and showed them the photos of the people who had been stung earlier.

Seeing the photos, Chen Wen and Dennis frowned at the same time.

The person who was stung was a young man, and the welts on his forehead and arms numbered over ten!

And this was just what was visible.

”Is he okay?”

Chen Wen asked.

Hook shook his head, ”He’s not in life-threatening condition for now, but he’s very likely to be bedridden for a long time. The others who were stung aren’t as serious as him.”

Looking through the photos, seeing the plight of the local indigenous people made Chen Wen feel very uneasy.

He took a deep breath and asked, ”What do you plan to do now? Do you have a way to handle the wasp nest?”

Hook shook his head again, ”No, we reported it to the government, but they’re too far from us. They wouldn’t come for such a small matter.”

”The people in the town plan to pool together money to hire a professional wasp removal team, but that takes time and money. No one is willing to come to such a remote place to deal with wasps. Even if they agree, the money they demand is astronomical!”

Upon hearing this, Chen Wen slightly nodded.

This place was indeed a bit remote.

When he came, he had noticed that the local people didn’t have much industry and were almost living off government subsidies.

After thinking for a moment, Chen Wen said, ”This is trouble we caused, so naturally, we should solve it.”

Saying this, Chen Wen gently waved his hand, stopping Dennis from saying anything.

Then he continued, ”I will help you remove the wasps without charging money, and I guarantee a thorough cleanup in one go.”

Hearing this, Hook didn’t show the joy or excitement that Chen Wen expected.

He only asked worriedly, ”Are you... capable?”

Chen Wen confidently said, ”Don’t worry, it will definitely work!”

At this point, Hook had no other options.

He took it as a last-resort chance and informed the other indigenous residents of the town about the matter.

Soon, many people came to Hook’s house, planning to see what was going on.
