Wilderness Survival with Druid System

The initial point here.

After two days of chaos, all the teams were unwilling to stay here any longer.

The crowd forced the Japanese team to hand over two camels, slaughtered them, and after distribution, everyone had thoughts of leaving.

On Oleg’s side, he gathered Chen Wen’s share and carried it over on a camel.

After a brief exchange, Oleg expressed his intention to leave.

With some emotion, he said, ”This time survival is more dangerous than any previous time! We dare not stay at the initial point any longer, we’re leaving today.”

Saying this, Oleg glanced at Chen Wen, not knowing what he was thinking.

A moment later, Oleg said, ”As for cooperation, we still remember. We will rest for three days before arriving at the Kimberley Plateau, and if you arrive, you can join us.”

Crossing the Kimberley Plateau, the more people, the better.

This is the experience from previous survival attempts.

Chen Wen nodded and said, ”Of course, I also look forward to cooperating with you.”

After reaching an agreement with Chen Wen, Oleg did not linger.

Instead, he quickly returned to the camp and led his team away from the initial point.

Once Oleg left, others dared not stay either.

Many people hurriedly packed their belongings, took everything they needed, and left in a rush.

Soon, only the Japanese team was left at the initial point.

The Japanese team looked at the few remaining supplies and materials and were on the verge of tears.

However, after discussing with Feng Zhong, Yoshikawa Feng, and Matsui Reika came up with a bold way to stop the losses.

They planned to attack other teams!

Of course, Chen Wen’s team was naturally not in their consideration for an attack.

Matsui Reika set her sights on the Spanish and Australian joint team, which had been the most ruthless but was not particularly strong.

But no matter what their plans were, it was no longer related to Chen Wen.

...

On Chen Wen’s side.

With the return of the Crested Eagle and Hua Yun, they also brought back a message: ”Everyone has left the initial point, we can go over now!”

Hearing this news, everyone’s spirits soared.

The departure of the other teams meant a huge advantage for Chen Wen and his group in the accumulation of resources at the initial point!

”Perfect start!”

Dennis couldn’t help but cheer; this was the first time he had seen a team gain such an advantage at the initial point.

Beside him.

Adam and Fred were also all smiles, equally thrilled.

Joining Chen Wen’s team might be the most valuable decision they have ever made!

The group briefly discussed and confirmed the survival plan going forward.

Chen Wen summarized: ”In simple terms, we move, slaughter, and trade for supplies. Additionally, we must continue to hunt and catch birds.”

”There isn’t much time left this morning, so I’ll quickly allocate the afternoon’s tasks. In the afternoon, Hua Yun, Dennis, and Fred, you three are responsible for moving, transporting the supplies to the initial point. Oleg’s shelter over there is still intact, we can directly move into their shelter.”

”Adam, you and I will go catch that Screamer; this time, I plan to bring the Crested Eagle, so long as that thing is around, we must pin it down!”

”Additionally, if you have time after moving, Hua Yun and Fred should assist Dennis in slaughtering camels.”

The task allocation was reasonable, and everyone accepted Chen Wen’s distribution.

After lunch, Chen Wen and Adam took their tools and the Crested Eagle and left the camp.

Their target was clear, the oasis where they had set up bird traps yesterday.

They hurried along, and soon, the oasis was in sight.

”I’ll go check the traps.”

Adam said, quickly striding toward the marked spot he set up.

Meanwhile, Chen Wen gazed at the isolated nest of the Screamer in the air, observing if it was still there.

After about a minute.

Adam came over holding two birds.

He showed the birds to Chen Wen: ”They aren’t budgerigars, but two sandgrouse, black-bellied sandgrouse.”

Before coming, Adam had also read about some wildlife in Australia.

The black-bellied sandgrouse made a lasting impression on him.

This bird species wasn’t originally found in Australia.

They were also invasive species brought over by colonial settlers.

However, unlike the rampant wild camels, the number of black-bellied sandgrouse was still controlled.

The black-bellied sandgrouse aren’t large, weighing about a pound each, moving in flocks, inhabiting the deserts and gobi of Australia.

”But their meat isn’t very good according to the information I saw.”

Adam said, handing the two sandgrouse to Chen Wen.

Chen Wen examined the sandgrouse for a moment and said, ”They look a little like doves, here’s the plan: we’ll eat one and I’ll use the other for fishing.”

The fish in question wasn’t in the water, but the Screamer flying in the sky.

The Screamer is a scavenging animal, with a behavioral pattern similar to that of the scavenging elite, the vulture.

Often, the Screamer flies in a leisurely and slow way, tracking and searching for prey in the sky.

Once it spots a dead animal.

The Screamer would circle and fly down, only attacking the carcass once it confirmed the animal was completely dead.

They even carry burning sticks to create larger fires for this reason.

After wildfires, numerous animals perish from the smoke and heat.

Thus, the burned wilderness is like a super-luxurious buffet for the Screamer.

Chen Wen planned to use this characteristic of the Screamer to capture it.

He took one black-bellied sandgrouse, cut its body open, and placed it in a conspicuous spot on the ground.

Adam used the sandgrouse to set a trap on the ground.

To capture the Screamer.

Meanwhile, Chen Wen took the Crested Eagle and hid in the oasis, waiting for the Screamer’s arrival.

Once the Screamer came and showed interest in the sandgrouse.

The trap would trigger, and the Screamer would be caught by it.

If the trap failed to hold the Screamer, the ambushing Chen Wen and Crested Eagle would be the last line of defense.

Soon, Adam’s trap was set up.

He also joined Chen Wen, ambushing together.

...

Ambushing is an activity that requires great patience.

The two squatted in the oasis vegetation, enduring the intense heat for an hour, but the Screamer never appeared.

This made Adam start to grow restless.

”It’s too hot, I need to go back and rest for a bit, or I won’t hold up.”

Adam had a white cloth draped over his head to block the direct sunlight.

Despite such measures, he was starting to feel overwhelmed.

Even his speech was trembling.

Noticing this, Chen Wen signaled Adam to go back and rest.

”Sorry, I wasn’t aware of your situation.”

Chen Wen said apologetically.

With protection from the entry, the current heat felt like a pleasant spring day to him.

Hot, but warmly so.

Hearing this, Adam looked at Chen Wen, who wasn’t even sweating, and couldn’t help but sigh.

How good is this person’s physical fitness?

To not have any reaction in such hot weather!

Adam shook his head and was about to leave when.

Suddenly.

A peculiar screeching came from the sky, sounding similar to crying.

As soon as Chen Wen and Adam heard this sound, their expressions changed.

”The Screamer! It’s the Screamer!”

Chen Wen whispered, signaling Adam to look at the sky.

Upon hearing this, Adam stopped leaving.

His eyes were bloodshot, staring intently at the high-flying Screamer.

This Screamer was the same one Chen Wen had encountered before.

It circled in the air, screeching, and soon noticed the black-bellied sandgrouse carcass on the ground.
