Wilderness Survival with Druid System

”Hmm...”

Chen Wen thought for a moment and said, ”The team at the back, the United States team could be attacked, but there’s no need for that now. If we push the United States and Japan teams too hard, and they team up against us, we’ll suffer too.”

”Let’s do this, we’ll hang around near the artificial forest. When most people are here, we’ll find someone to go to the starting point and bring the others over. As for slaughtering camels...”

Seeing so many extra camels, Chen Wen casually said, ”Slaughter one camel, that’ll be enough to eat. We’ll keep the rest and eat them later when food is running low.”

Hua Yun nodded and added, ”But if we’re going to slaughter a camel, it’s definitely more convenient to do it at the starting point. There’s a well there, and there are tribesmen around. We can directly use the camel leather to trade for the supplies we need.”

Chen Wen pondered for a moment and said, ”Let’s not go for now, there are too many people this time. I’m worried there might be trouble over there. We’ll stay here and wait for some people to leave before we go.”

”Being behind at the start isn’t a real setback. We can afford not to rush.”

This made sense, and Hua Yun nodded in agreement.

After discussing a few more matters, they began to search for a suitable camping spot in the artificial forest and started clearing the area to set up a temporary camp.

...

While Chen Wen and Hua Yun were busy working.

Over with the Russian Team.

They watched in bewilderment as staff drove past them to take two members of the Japan teams back.

Oleg’s face changed slightly, and he said to everyone, ”It’s Heimu Yuan and Matsuyama Kintaro!”

Upon hearing this, Ivan briefly explained the situation of the two, ”Newcomers from the Japan Survival Association, Heimu Yuan isn’t well-known, but the records mention he’s quite good at desert survival. This Matsuyama Kintaro is impressive, rumored to be a slingshot expert!”

Fred didn’t speak, just stared at the wooden spear in Heimu Yuan’s hand.

”Who do you think did this? It hasn’t been long, and yet two members of the Japan team are down?”

Mikhail said with glee.

Oleg also chuckled, ”Who else could it be? It’s definitely Chen Wen. I even saw the wooden spear. This Chen Wen is really impressive, tsk tsk. Thankfully, we’ve already established a good relationship with him.”

At this point, Oleg glanced at Fred, ”Fred, although we won’t continue our cooperation in this Desert Extreme Challenge, I hope you’ll remember the association’s goodwill. We won’t target you, but we also hope you won’t lead Chen Wen to trouble us.”

Fred nodded with his big, strong body, ”Don’t worry, I’m not like that.”

”Alright, since that’s settled, let’s finalize the distribution matters.”

Oleg was straightforward, ”You can take your supplies, camels, tools with you. We’ll follow the previous rules and give you some prepared camel meat. Do you have any issues with that?”

”No problem, just stick to the previous rules.” Fred said with a simple smile.

Done!

Oleg was also satisfied and nodded.

Problems that can be solved with words should best not resort to action.

This was Oleg’s life principle.

...

At the starting point.

When they saw that the fourth team hadn’t set off yet, and two members had been brought back.

Everyone in the remaining teams felt a chill in their hearts.

The conflict between participants this time seems to have erupted earlier than before!

And looking at those two’s injuries, everyone was a bit surprised.

As survivors, most of them have been exposed to first aid and have some ability to assess injuries.

So, upon seeing the two’s injuries.

Everyone was quick to determine how the wounds were caused and even figured out who was responsible.

”This should have been done by Chen Wen! Look at the one who’s still conscious, his wound is a clear tear wound, the muscle is flipped out. It should be a long spear!”

”To be precise, a wooden spear, I saw the weapon on the vehicle.”

”Scary! To cause such injury with a wooden spear, Chen Wen’s strength is greater than we imagined!”

”Truly a fierce competitor!”

...

Regarding Chen Wen’s displayed abilities.

Some are worried, like the United States team and other unfamiliar teams that haven’t had any cooperation with Chen Wen before.

Others are pleasantly surprised, such as Chen Wen’s teammates and other teams that have reached cooperation agreements.

But overall, concerning Chen Wen’s demonstrated prowess.

Everyone took note of the incident and quietly prepared themselves.

...

As for Chen Wen.

He wasn’t concerned about others’ discussions, not that he could hear them anyway.

At this moment, Chen Wen was looking for a place to set up a temporary camp.

In the Desert Extreme Challenge, according to the cases reviewed, although time is tight, it’s not entirely without leeway.

The fastest completion of the Desert Extreme Challenge was in the 1970s by an explorer named August from Australia, who was also of mixed Indigenous descent.

He completed the challenge in 104 days.

And the slowest completion was only 142 days.

This means, as long as nothing goes wrong in between, the time isn’t too pressing.

So Chen Wen plans to wait at the starting point for the group to slaughter camels and leave with all the supplies.

He will then handle the supplies and other things at the starting point.

And during this time, Chen Wen estimated he would stay for about a week.

Therefore, he must set up the shelter.

The desert at night transitions from extreme heat to extreme cold.

Without good shelter, it will be very cold at night, possibly leading to hypothermia.

The feeling of hypothermia.

Chen Wen wasn’t too sure about it, but Hua Yun knew it very well.

Therefore, in the matter of building the shelter, both of them were in complete agreement.

Soon, near the edge of the artificial forest.

Chen Wen found a piece of empty land.

Previously, trees were also planted here, but judging by the current appearance, it seems they were uprooted, leaving only an open space now.

”Let’s do it here. The place is big, not to mention it’s within the artificial forest, offering cover, cool during the day, and warm at night.”

Chen Wen noted but also mentioned the drawbacks, ”Though, we definitely need to make a fire at night. Otherwise, many venomous insects and even snakes might come close.”

Hua Yun nodded, ”Right. As Xu Qiang said, the last time they were here, they rested by an abandoned well, and a snake crawled out of the well at night and wrapped around his neck.”

Chen Wen knew about this too.

Because of that incident, Xu Qiang developed a very strong psychological shadow regarding wells.

Since then, whenever it comes to survival, he would never set up a camp near wells, caves, or any similar areas with pits and hollows.

”So tonight, we absolutely need to light a fire, and we also need to arrange for people to take turns on night watch.”

Chen Wen said, ”There are five of us. We’ll take turns, each for an hour and a half, which should be about right.”

After their discussion, they began to set up the shelter in the open ground.

However, for now, they were just gathering the simplest materials.

The actual building work had to wait for others to arrive.
