Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 996: Chapter 995: The Playstyle of a Rebirth-Genre Game Protagonist

Of course, Fang Zheng can’t possibly stop the actions of the Doomsday Church all over the world. Firstly, it’s too time-consuming, and secondly, even if you stop one, there will be another. You might not only fail, but also alert the enemy.

However, Fang Zheng has his own methods.

Do you know how the protagonists of rebirth game novels play?

They know which are hidden missions, who are hidden characters, and how the plot should progress. So they can always find the best way and push all the way through.

Although this Main World isn’t a game, Fang Zheng has the Ratziel. Even if he doesn’t know the hidden plots and missions, at least he knows who the hidden characters are, right?

And coincidentally, according to the records of the Ratziel, the top brass of the Doomsday Church are about to meet in Silver City of the Land of Wealth for a very important ritual. Due to the importance of this ritual, all eight members of the Day of Annihilation Council within the Doomsday Church will attend.

If Fang Zheng can catch these eight bastards all in one swoop, then even if the Doomsday Church isn’t completely finished, it will collapse significantly. Afterward, the entire Doomsday Church might fall into a whirlpool of power struggles, naturally rendering their previous plans unfeasible.

This is exactly a replay of the strategy of encircling Wei to rescue Zhao.

Although Fang Zheng has made up his mind, he can’t just head out like this. After all, even the wisest can make a mistake, and although he could still assist Walnut and Kurumi as a mage, since the Doomsday Church has plans targeting him, they will naturally know his appearance and background. With those maniacs’ sensitivity, if they sense something is off, it might cause trouble.

But Fang Zheng isn’t completely without a solution for this issue... albeit it will involve some sacrifice.

But for the Heavenly Dao Palace, for the little darling, what does sacrifice matter?

Everything, is for order and justice!

”... Are we going to Silver City?”

Looking at the letter in her hand, Walnut couldn’t help but show an expression of surprise. She blinked, then turned her gaze to Kurumi.

”Is there a mission?”

”Sort of. This time it’s quite urgent, so we need to hurry to Silver City.”

”Of course, that’s no problem...”

Faced with Kurumi’s response, Walnut nodded. Then she curiously glanced at the small figure with a head of red double ponytails beside Kurumi.

”But...”

”Hello, Walnut, nice to meet you for the first time, please be kind to me. I’m Red Ponytail, you can call me Little Hong.”

Faced with Walnut’s curious gaze, Fang Zheng— no, Red Ponytail waved her hand cheerfully, and Walnut nodded.

”Ah, hello...”

Upon hearing Red Ponytail’s response, Walnut nods in acknowledgment.

”Little Hong, were you also brought back from other worlds by Brother Fang Zheng?”

”Yes, Mr. Fang Zheng brought me back too, please take care of me.”

Completely ignoring Kurumi’s sly glance from the side, Red Ponytail (Fang Zheng) cheerfully extended her hand to shake Walnut’s.

That’s right, this is Fang Zheng’s solution to hide his identity— transformation!!

After all, if it were Fang Zheng himself, whether he appeared as a warrior or a mage, it would easily raise the suspicions of the Doomsday Church. Since that’s the case, why not transform into a fourteen-year-old Red Ponytail magical girl! Let me see how the Doomsday Church can possibly deal with me!

Darn, the Doomsday Church actually forced me to make such a huge sacrifice.

While shaking hands with Walnut with a smile, Fang Zheng silently cursed internally.

This sacrifice of mine must not go to waste. Watch me closely. After capturing those high-ranking bastards of the Doomsday, I will tie them up individually, then slice their manhood in half with a red-hot dagger, skew it with toothpicks, sprinkle cumin and salt and chili powder, roast on the fire, and then cut it down and force them to eat!

But... Walnuts’ transformation is truly remarkable.

Looking at Walnut in front of him, Fang Zheng couldn’t help but feel a sense of wonder. When she first arrived here, Walnut was a very inexperienced newcomer. But now, she’s wearing warrior leather armor, exuding an aura of a veteran all over her body.

No, she should indeed be a veteran. According to Kurumi’s report, Walnut has completed many assignments during this time, ranging from banishing wolf packs to eliminating undead. In essence, she’s fully grown.

”We need a trigger to leave here.”

Kurumi timely interjects, and Walnut nods.

”I understand, recent assignments have been hard to come by. But if I ask, I should be able to find something that takes us to Silver City.”

Hmm... indeed, she’s quite quick-witted.

Seeing Walnut instantly grasp Kurumi’s meaning, Fang Zheng nods. Generally, mercenaries rarely leave for faraway places without tasks. Although Kurumi didn’t elaborate to Walnut on what they’re up to, Walnut clearly understands that a reason and excuse are necessary to leave this city for Silver City.

”Let’s go, I’ll take you to the Mercenary Association.”

Smiling, Walnut pats Red Ponytail’s shoulder and turns to head towards the Mercenary Association.

As Walnut enters the Mercenary Association, her appearance immediately attracts the attention of the idle mercenaries in the hall. Quickly, a muscular great Han raises his glass and cheers Walnut with a laugh.

”Yo, isn’t that our shovel princess? Came to take on a task?”

”Yes, checking if there’s any business lately.”

”All the work has been snatched up by you and Young Lady Kurumi, where’s our share?”

Seeing the mercenaries greeting Walnut along the way, Fang Zheng raises an eyebrow. Then he leans towards Kurumi and asks quietly.

”Walnut seems quite popular.”

”Of course, she has completed many tasks and taken on many dangerous ones. More importantly...”

”What is it?”

”She’s the only one who fights carrying a shovel and even enchants it.”

”That’s true indeed...”

Facing Kurumi’s response, Fang Zheng nods as well. Kurumi’s firearm doesn’t look beyond the understanding of this world from the outside, and currently, he’s carrying a longsword as a weapon, which seems normal. In fact... most mercenaries’ weapons are quite normal; only a few use various strange weapons.

Clearly, Walnut is one of those.

Noticing Fang Zheng’s expression, Kurumi flashes a mischievous smile.

”You seem really relaxed, aren’t you afraid someone might snatch Walnut away?”

”Is there?”

Hearing this, Fang Zheng is taken aback for a moment, and Kurumi chuckles, raising a finger to her lips.

”Indeed, there’s a staff member at the counter who quite admires Walnut, and might snatch her away at any moment?”

”Oh? I’m curious to see who’s bold enough.”

Upon hearing Kurumi’s words, Fang Zheng is intrigued. She leans forward, looking towards Walnut, only to see this moment Walnut has arrived at the counter. Soon, a girl of similar age, in uniform, with flaxen long hair, sees Walnut and instantly reveals a joyful smile, then rushes over in excitement.

”Ah, Miss Walnut, you’re here!”

”I’m here, is there any fun assignment lately?”

”Please wait for me to check. The newest batch of assignments hasn’t been processed, but if Miss Walnut wants, I can prepare it now!”

Having said this, the flaxen-haired girl blushes and eagerly turns from the counter and heads into the inner room.

Fang Zheng: ”......???”
