Chapter 951: Chapter 950: Fang Zheng’s Conditions

Afterward, Yuliel also gave Fang Zheng a detailed introduction, and Fang Zheng finally understood the reason behind it all.

The founder of the Army is a player named Sinka, but he’s not just a player; he’s also an administrator of the largest well-known Japanese game website.

Actually, according to Yuliel, at the beginning, Sinka’s initial intention in creating the ”Army” was to gather enough people to fight creatures, then collect resources, and distribute them equally to each player......

Alright, upon hearing this, Fang Zheng was stunned. Grandpa Marx’s spirit in the heavens probably never imagined there would be a Japanese friend practicing his theoretical ideas in an online game!

Could it be that this guy is a member of Japan’s Leftist Party?

Of course, as nice as it sounds, to put it simply, the Army is just a banding together for warmth, a quantity-over-quality organization. The strategy makes sense too—ten of us fighting ten creatures might lead to one death, but twenty of us fighting ten creatures means we get less experience and money, but at least no one dies.

Initially, the Army didn’t have many people, so banding together was quite effective. However, the problem was that Sinka completely failed to recognize the relationship between productivity liberation and resource distribution. In the game world, everything requires players to gather and collect by themselves, planting seeds manually. This would revert to a Medieval agricultural civilization in the real world.

With dozens of people, it’s fine to follow Marx, but the problem is that this guy got inflated and began expanding the guild’s recruitment range, making the guild’s members grow ever more numerous---those trolls weren’t wrong; the Army indeed has the largest number of members, unlike Dark Nebula and the Red Knight Order.

After all...... the productive capacity of this world is limited.

With over a thousand players, the result is that a minority needs to fight to support the majority, and who would be willing to do that? So, various conflicts and splits began to emerge within the Army.

Many people felt that they fought hard to collect resources while the people in the rear didn’t know gratitude and just feasted away. What’s the use of keeping such people!

It’s one thing to have no use for them; they’re not even good-looking, can’t even be of use in the rear, and waste food—why keep them?!

And just when Sinka was at his wit’s end over this, something unexpected occurred: Sinka inadvertently discovered that beneath the Army’s headquarters in Starting Town, the Black Iron Palace, there was a hidden dungeon!

Anybody who’s played a game knows that anything labeled hidden must be good!

To solidify his position, Sinka gritted his teeth and took the plunge!

Take a chance, and a bicycle turns into a motorcycle!

If a Korean team can beat the German team, is anything impossible?

The fact proves that so many people jumping off buildings after buying stocks isn’t just a random incident.

On the third day after Sinka led his crew into that hidden dungeon, he went missing, with no word at all!

Of course, in a usual routine, Fang Zheng would surely think that Sinka was done for, not even able to be warm to the touch.

But......

”I checked the Life Monument, and Sinka’s name is still there; he’s not dead yet. I’ve also led people to attempt to enter the Underground Labyrinth to rescue Sinka, but......”

At this, Yuliel clenched her fists.

”We’re not a specialized raid group, and to be honest, our battle experience is only fighting wild monsters outside. We’ve never even been to an instance labyrinth. The danger level of that hidden dungeon far exceeded our expectations, and we had to retreat to come up with another solution, but we didn’t have any other way. I’m sure Sinka isn’t dead, but if things continue like this, maybe......”

”So you want us to help you rescue people?”

Even without Yuliel saying more, Fang Zheng had more or less understood her intent.

”Yes.”

Yuliel admitted frankly.

”The raid points of Dark Moon Sword are the highest among all the guilds, and your raid progress is the fastest......”

”But I have no reason to help you.”

Fang Zheng spread his hands, staring at Yuliel as he spoke.

”You want our guild to abandon raiding the front lines to help you on an adventure. If you can’t give me a satisfactory answer, I won’t agree to your request.”

”This...... But......”

Faced with Fang Zheng’s answer, Yuliel was at a loss. Indeed, as Fang Zheng said, the hidden dungeon might be interesting, but for players trapped in this death game, hardly anyone puts fun first. Moreover, saving one person over raiding an instance and rescuing all trapped in the game world is more important.

”If you can agree to a condition of mine, then I can go take a look at the situation, otherwise, let’s not talk about it.”

”What condition?”

”It’s very simple.”

Seeing Yuliel’s anxious expression, the corners of Fang Zheng’s mouth slightly lifted, and he held up one finger.

”If I successfully rescue Sinka, then I demand that the Army merges into Dark Moon Sword, becoming a peripheral guild of Dark Moon Sword!”

”Eh...... Eh?”

Hearing Fang Zheng’s demand, Yuliel was taken completely by surprise, unable to understand why Fang Zheng would make such a request. To be honest, if the Army could merge with Dark Moon Sword, it would definitely be a good thing, like a pie falling from the sky!

But soon, Yuliel realized that things weren’t as simple as she thought.

”My demand is simple: after I rescue Sinka, the Army merges into Dark Moon Sword, and then I require that you purge the Army’s members—yes, a thorough purge. Those who have ever robbed or exploited other players must all be expelled. Not only that, but they must also be imprisoned in the dungeon area, no problem?”

”This......”

Hearing Fang Zheng’s demand, Yuliel was dumbfounded; the demand was truly terrifying.

A thorough purge!

As the guild with the most members, Yuliel could imagine that once Fang Zheng’s order was given, it would surely trigger a full-scale riot within the guild!

”That’s my condition. If you can accept it, then I’ll go have a look. If you can’t accept it, then that’s the end of it; I won’t risk my life, nor the lives of my companions.”

At this point, Fang Zheng stood up, intending to leave.

Seeing Fang Zheng turning to leave without hesitation, Yuliel also made up her mind.

”I agree! Even if Sinka disagrees, I will persuade him to agree!”

”That’s good.”

Upon hearing Yuliel’s answer, Fang Zheng stopped, smiling slightly, and then beckoned to the side.

”Alright, come out now, no need to watch.”

”.........”

With Fang Zheng’s call, Asuna and Eiriri came out from behind the tree with Yui, somewhat embarrassed. Eiriri gave a cheeky smile and waved at Fang Zheng.

”Hello, Mr. Fang Zheng, what a coincidence......”

”Coincidence my ass, you followed me all the way here, you think my Enemy Detection Skill was for nothing?”

Fang Zheng rolled his eyes without good humor.

”Alright, pack up, we’re heading to Black Iron Palace.”

Fang Zheng wasn’t planning on troubling other guild members with such a small matter. Conveniently, with Eiriri and Asuna here, one as a scout and the other as a DPS, plus himself, the three of them would first explore this hidden dungeon and see what the situation was.

”But Mr. Fang Zheng, what about Yui?”

”Um......”

Hearing Asuna’s inquiry, Fang Zheng thought for a moment.

”Let’s send Yui back first......”

However, before Fang Zheng could finish speaking, he saw Yui running up to him, grabbing his clothes with her little hands, and looking at him with eagerness.

”I want to go with Daddy......”

”That’s not okay, there might be dangers......”

”Mmm......”

Upon hearing Fang Zheng’s response, Yui showed a sad expression, while Fang Zheng sighed, reaching out to pat Yui’s little head.

”Be good, we can’t bring you on an adventure.”

”But......”

”Mr. Fang Zheng, I can protect Yui.”

At this moment, Asuna also stepped forward.

”We just need to stay behind, it shouldn’t be too dangerous.”

”It’s hard to say...... Alright.”

Looking at Yui’s pitiful little face, Fang Zheng’s heart softened. Though the hidden dungeon might indeed be dangerous, leaving Yui behind alone was clearly impossible now. In this case, taking her along means if there really is danger, Fang Zheng can reasonably convince Yui to turn back.

The saying ”seeing is believing” applies here; by that time, Yui should no longer object.
