Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 990: Chapter 989: Tower of Heaven Visiting Delegation (Part 2)

Upon hearing Delian Young Lady’s words, the other girls couldn’t help but lift their heads and glance at each other. Delian didn’t mind and quickly turned her gaze to the girl in the red wizard robe beside her.

”Okay, Annie, you go first.”

”Huh? Me? Me?”

Hearing Delian’s words, Annie couldn’t help but shrink slightly. As the representative of the Shaping Type, Annie didn’t look like the violent kind of Shaping Mage people imagined. On the contrary, she was small and slender, with brown curly hair, wearing large black-framed glasses, giving her a quiet and frail appearance.

Don’t be fooled by this girl’s seemingly uncommunicative nature and less fashionable appearance than the other girls, she was actually one of the most highly ranked individuals in this visiting group — she was a Seventh-Ring Mage and a true High-Tier Mage.

”That’s right, I heard from my mentor that the Shaping Type initially planned for Rosalia to come. Why did they switch to you?”

The Rosalia that Delian mentioned was the apple of the Shaping Type’s eye. As the saying goes, everyone has their circle. The girls present were similar in age, strength, and looks, so they all knew each other to some extent. They were all aware of Rosalia’s situation. Like Annie, she was a Seventh-Ring Mage, but in terms of looks, Rosalia was an outstanding, dazzling beauty. In comparison, Annie seemed more like an ugly duckling.

”This... that...”

Annie was clearly hesitant, under Delian’s curious gaze, she stammered for a moment before speaking.

”This... that... I’m not sure... I heard from my mentor that it was a choice made by Mr. Fang Zheng...”

”Hmm? What do you mean?”

”It’s like this... according to my mentor, when forming the visiting group, the White Tower Council drafted a list and handed it to Mr. Fang Zheng, and when the list was returned, they found Rosalia’s name had been crossed out, so I joined as a substitute...”

”Is that so?”

Hearing this, Mary became curious too.

”Do you know why Rosalia was dropped?”

”I don’t know...”

Annie shook her head.

”But Rosalia was extremely angry...”

”With her temper, it’d be odd if she could keep calm.”

Hearing this, Mary couldn’t help but retort. Compared to the obedient and well-behaved Annie, Rosalia’s temper was almost like a volcanic eruption. She looked down on low-level apprentices, often scolding them harshly. It was only because of her talent and lack of major trouble-making that people tolerated her fiery temper.

But now... it seems...

”Speaking of which, someone from our Enchantment School got dropped as well.”

At this point, another Female Mage sitting beside joined the conversation.

”If I remember correctly, my mentor initially planned for her chief disciple Daisy to go, but suddenly yesterday I was notified to pack my things... my thesis wasn’t even finished yet...”

”It’s really strange, why did Mr. Fang Zheng drop those people?”

As the girls discussed, suddenly, a voice inserted into their conversation unexpectedly.

”Have you all forgotten that the person is still a Prophet Mage?”

”Huh?”

Upon hearing this unexpected voice, everyone was stunned. They turned their heads towards where the voice came from, only to find a small figure sitting not far from them on the sofa. She seemed to be only twelve or thirteen years old, with smooth white long hair and triangular ears, her bright red eyes sparkling with an impish gleam. The girl wore a black Gothic dress, looking just like a doll.

At the sight of her, including Mary, the other girls were immediately shocked and stood up simultaneously!

”Master Colette! What are you doing here?”

That’s right, the reason for the girls’ shock was that the Colette appearing here was no ordinary mage. She was one of the eight Chiefs of the Tower of Heaven, the chief of the Necromancer Class — Colette De Novas.

Don’t be fooled by her appearance as just a little girl. Colette’s life was undoubtedly legendary.

She was a Vampire Prince who had lived in this world for over fifteen hundred years. Her legendary feats were countless. She once led an Undead Legion to invade the world and fought against the Devil Legion. Ultimately, tired of conflict, Colette broke away from the Vampire Council, began wandering as a Necromancer, and later joined the White Tower.

It can be said that Colette has held her chief position in the Tower of Heaven the longest and is also the most laid-back. Although she is the chief of the Necromancer Class, she practically never works, wandering around, leaving all the work to her deputy.

Yet even so, she remains the chief mage of the Necromancer Class and the undisputed ruler of the death domain.

”Why am I here? Do you even need to ask?”

Hearing Mary’s astonished inquiry, Colette took a sip of tea and playfully looked at the girls in front of her.

”Of course, I’m afraid you might be dazzled by that Paladin and forget what you’re supposed to do, little ones. You’re not out here just for a picnic; I’ll be watching you closely to prevent you from doing anything against the White Tower’s standards.”

”Ah... yes... I’m very sorry...”

Although Colette’s voice didn’t sound very imposing and even a bit soft and cute, Mary was already curling up and slowly sitting down in fear. The others also shut their mouths, not daring to speak recklessly. In fact, as the favored children of the White Tower, they did have a bit of a lax mentality when leaving the Tower.

But now it seems... the White Tower clearly won’t really let them idle around...

After discovering that their group had included the dean, the girls, who originally thought they were free, suddenly became well-behaved, gentle, and obedient little lambs. Even though their understanding of Colette was only superficial and based on some rumors, those rumors alone were enough to make them abandon their rebellious thoughts and behave like good girls again.

It wasn’t until the White Tower’s warship arrived at Golden Bay and docked at the pier that Mary and her group finally felt a bit relieved.

”What should we do next, Master Colette?”

Looking down at the girl in front of her, Mary asked respectfully, while Colette twirled the parasol in her hand with a playful smile.

”Hmm... according to that gentleman’s arrangements, we will next take the Heavenly Dao Palace’s warship to their territory.”

”The Heavenly Dao Palace’s warship... I’ve heard rumors about them for a long time, but I’ve never seen them!”

Upon hearing this, several girls showed expressions of anticipation. Among them, only Mary had seen the steel warship of the Heavenly Dao Palace during her previous opportunity accompanying Douglas to a ceremony. The others only knew about it from projections or descriptions from others after the fact, so they were extremely excited. Several of them were already looking around, trying to find where the steel warship of the Heavenly Dao Palace was docked.

Just then, they saw a girl with long sea-blue hair in strange attire walking towards them from the other side of the pier.

Just like that, she walked up to the group and curiously sized them up.

”You’re the visiting group from the White Tower.”

”That’s right.”

Colette nodded, and upon hearing her answer, the girl looked at her and then spoke.

”My name is Iona. The captain ordered me to escort you... please follow me.”

After saying this, Iona turned and walked to the other side of the pier, and the girls hurried to follow.

”Why does it feel like they’re not too welcoming of us?”

Staring at Iona’s back, Delian muttered a complaint, to which Mary shook her head.

”Don’t say unnecessary things; this isn’t our place to complain... In short, let’s just do what we’re supposed to do.”

While they were speaking, Iona led the group to another pier behind the airfield, which was empty. But just as Iona approached, they were surprised to see the previously empty air start to ripple, and in the next moment, a massive metal warship appeared out of nowhere in front of them!

”How did it appear?”

Seeing the warship, a Protection Class mage exclaimed.

”I didn’t sense any magic or energy fluctuations at all!”

”Neither did I... this shouldn’t be invisibility magic!”

Another Prophecy System mage girl also looked serious. Even though they didn’t often leave the White Tower, they were well aware of the dangers outside. Therefore, every time they went out, they would cast protection magic on themselves and wear magic equipment.

Anti-invisibility was naturally essential for mages, so being a Prophecy System mage, it was only natural to cast ”Detect Invisibility” type spells on themselves.

Yet even so, they hadn’t detected there was a warship here?!

Is this the power of the Heavenly Dao Palace?

”Please, come in.”

Iona waved her hand, and in the next moment, they saw energy-condensed stairs appear out of thin air, extending all the way to the entrance of the warship.

”Interesting indeed.”

Watching the scene before her, Colette smiled, lifted her skirt, and was the first to step up, quickly followed by the others.

But to everyone’s surprise, just as they were about to step onto the stairs, Iona suddenly extended her hand to block their way, then looked past them and spoke.

”Reveal your invisibility and state your purpose!”

What?!

Upon hearing Iona’s words, everyone was taken aback, and as they turned to look, they saw a figure suddenly appear from the void, rushing towards Iona with dazzling sword light!
