Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 973: Chapter 972: What a Coincidence

To be honest, Fang Zheng didn’t expect to meet Yuna here, and the feeling was mutual for Yuna.

Although they were both Death Game survivors, there were more than nine thousand survivors, and most of them were arranged to be observed and treated in nearby hospitals according to their respective regions. Those with some money, such as executives from powerful families, could even secure special wards. In this situation, even if someone was in the same guild in the game, they might not necessarily meet after waking up.

Moreover, everyone in the guild used pseudonyms, and they rarely talked about their true identities, so most people didn’t really know where others lived or their contact numbers and details.

Of course, for Fang Zheng, this wasn’t a problem. He originally planned to contact everyone one by one from a list after taking care of everything. However, meeting Yuna here in advance was an unexpected delight.

Yuna was even happier.

Although returning to reality was very exhilarating for her, reality wasn’t all good. Her childhood friend also entered the Death Game, but he wasn’t as lucky as Yuna and died in the first mid-level BOSS raid. This made Yuna quite sad, and afterward, she underwent various checkups and rehabilitation under her father’s arrangements and is still in recovery.

Two years isn’t easy to fill, and Yuna felt somewhat lonely.

Now, seeing Fang Zheng here, Yuna couldn’t contain her excitement as she pulled on Fang Zheng’s sleeve, a stream of questions pouring out.

”Mr. Fang Zheng, have you seen anyone else?”

”Are you here to see my father today? What’s your business?”

”When can I see everyone again...?”

Perhaps due to her excitement, Yuna’s questions were like a rapid-fire barrage.

”Yuna.”

Seeing his daughter like this, Shigemura Takuo was speechless. Hearing her father speak, Yuna came back to her senses and stuck out her tongue in embarrassment.

”I’m sorry, Mr. Fang Zheng, I got too excited.”

”It’s okay.”

Fang Zheng adjusted his clothes and smiled slightly at Yuna.

”I’m here to discuss some work matters with your father. As for everyone else... well, once I’ve got things sorted here, I’ll send you all invitations so you can meet then.”

”That’s great!”

Hearing Fang Zheng’s answer, Yuna almost jumped with excitement, then hurriedly took out her phone from her pocket.

”Then, Mr. Fang Zheng, let’s add each other as friends...”

”Ahem, Yuna, do you know him?”

At this point, Shigemura Takuo couldn’t hold back anymore. He coughed and asked again. Hearing her father’s question, Yuna blinked, then turned her head and smiled at Professor Shigemura.

”Of course, Dad, this is Mr. Fang Zheng I told you about. He’s the leader of our Dark Moon Sword Guild, and it was under his leadership that we were able to clear the hundred floors and return to the real world so quickly?”

”It’s him?”

Hearing his daughter’s introduction, Shigemura Takuo was taken aback and then carefully sized up Fang Zheng.

In fact, Yuna and Fang Zheng didn’t know that Dark Moon Sword was already under the attention of many before this.

The Death Game Countermeasures HQ is an independent investigation organization, but it should be noted that many influential family offspring were trapped in the game back then. Naturally, these families were particularly attentive to their children, so it’s only natural for them to gather some news from the Countermeasures HQ to see how their children were doing.

After Yuna woke up, Professor Shigemura also asked a familiar psychologist to diagnose her. After all, staying in a virtual world for over two years, he didn’t know what his daughter had encountered, so he was concerned about Yuna’s mental state.

However, to his surprise, after the examination, the psychologist told him that Yuna’s mental state was excellent, not only without the issues Professor Shigemura was worried about, but on the contrary, Yuna seemed to be much stronger, braver, and more mature than before. This made Professor Shigemura very relieved and also a bit curious.

After all, according to the psychologist, being able to maintain such a good mental state after two years in a virtual world indicates that Yuna was in a very reassuring environment.

Professor Shigemura had heard Yuna mention her guild leader before, but Yuna hadn’t mentioned Fang Zheng’s name at that time, so Professor Shigemura didn’t know that this young man before him was the person his daughter talked about every day.

”.......”

Thinking of this, Professor Shigemura was silent for a moment, then respectfully bowed to Fang Zheng.

”Thank you for saving my daughter.”

”We’re comrades fighting side by side, Professor Shigemura.”

However, in the face of Professor Shigemura’s gratitude, Fang Zheng just smiled and waved it off.

”Without Yuna’s assistance, we wouldn’t have been able to return to the real world so quickly, so you don’t need to thank us... Well, I have things to do, I’ll head off first, and we’ll talk about that thing later.”

”Alright.”

This time, Professor Shigemura nodded seriously.

”I will carefully consider your proposal.”

After this, Fang Zheng took out his phone to exchange contacts with Yuna and then turned to leave. It wasn’t until Fang Zheng left that Yuna curiously looked at her father.

”Dad, what did Mr. Fang Zheng want with you?”

”It’s a very important matter.”

In response to his daughter’s inquiry, Professor Shigemura answered with a serious expression.

If he was merely interested in Fang Zheng’s proposal before, now, for Professor Shigemura, it was more than just interest.

The man saved his daughter, so no matter what, he had to repay this favor.

Thinking of this, Professor Shigemura once again took out the business card Fang Zheng had given him before and began to think thoughtfully.

Fang Zheng did not know what Professor Shigemura was thinking. After leaving Tokyo Industrial University, Fang Zheng drove to a high-end restaurant located in the city center, as he had an appointment with someone else, just as he told Professor Shigemura earlier.

And that person was none other than Yuki Shozo, the CEO of Comprehensive Electronics Company RECT.

Because of Sukei Nobu’s conspiracy being exposed, Yuki Shozo was deeply troubled. He originally regarded Sukei Nobu as his right-hand man, never expecting him to do such things. Although Sukei Nobu died unexpectedly, Yuki Shozo was still greatly affected. After Fang Zheng took over RECT and began the restructuring process, Yuki Shozo was already in a semi-retired state.

This time, he met with Fang Zheng to discuss RECT’s future, and also...

”Asuna.”

Looking at his daughter standing beside him, with an expressionless face, Yuki Shozo sighed.

”I know you don’t like this kind of thing, but... we also have our considerations. I’m not forcing you, I just hope you can get to know each other...”

”I understand, Father.”

Hearing her father’s words, Asuna appeared calm. She was no longer the child she once was. After going through so much, Asuna had matured considerably. She was well aware that her father didn’t bring her here to meet a friend, but for... an arranged meeting.

As a member of the Yuki Family, Asuna had encountered similar situations more than once. Every time she returned to her hometown, various young talents would chat with her under the pretext of getting to know each other, and whenever this happened, there would always be ”strangely” no one around. Asuna didn’t need to be told that it was her parents’ effort to introduce her to outstanding young men and help them develop a relationship.

Asuna wasn’t particularly fond of this, but neither did she oppose it.

But things were different now. She already had someone in her heart. She had considered confessing to her father, but had never found the right opportunity.

But now... perhaps this was an opportunity. If she went through with her father’s arrangement for this meeting, she might be able to reveal her true feelings to her parents afterward.

”Tap tap...”

The sound of steady footsteps echoed, and hearing them, Asuna couldn’t help but feel a little nervous. She lowered her head, staring hard at the floor beneath her feet. Soon, she could feel the footsteps stop outside the private room, followed by a knock on the door.

”Come in.”

Following Yuki Shozo’s response, the door opened, and Asuna could sense someone entering.

”Sorry, there was a bit of traffic on my way here.”

It was a young man’s voice, and for some reason, it seemed familiar to Asuna.

”It’s fine, we just arrived as well. Let me introduce you, this is my daughter, Asuna...”

As her father spoke, Asuna stood up and respectfully nodded to the man in front of her. Then she lifted her head to look at his face.

And in that instant, seeing the man before her, Asuna was stunned.

At the same time, her father’s voice rang in her ears once more.

”Asuna, this is Mr. Fang Zheng, currently the CEO of RECT...”

”.......”

Asuna didn’t hear what her father was saying at all. She simply stared blankly at Fang Zheng, her mind in complete chaos.

Right now, there was only one thought in Asuna’s head.

What should I do? Should I still reject this arranged meeting?
