Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 893: Chapter 892: Eiriri, the Master of Wild Imagination

After clearing the first level lord, the Dark Moon Sword Guild became completely famous, and because of this, many people applied to join the Dark Moon Sword next.

Fang Zheng naturally anticipated this, which is also why he aimed to be the first in the world to defeat the lord. After all, having a system to help boost popularity is much more effective than searching for people one by one. Moreover, Fang Zheng isn’t Liu Bei; he can’t personally recruit people every time. Not to mention how time-consuming that would be, it would also be beneath him! Instead of approaching others, it’s better to let them come to him!

Thus, in the face of the influx of applicants, Fang Zheng adopted a set of effective measures for screening and reviewing them.

The first step was interviewing, which allowed an assessment of the applicant’s character, understanding their intentions, and what they could contribute to the guild or wanted to achieve by joining. Fang Zheng didn’t require everyone to battle on the front lines, but they had to possess sufficient abilities. Even in logistics, if one isn’t focused on skill training and just slacked off every day, such people weren’t welcome.

Next was the practical assessment. Speaking of practical assessment, it was straightforward — join Asuna and the others in their leveling up team to train together. Fang Zheng was clear that among these applicants, many were likely spies sent by other guilds to gather intelligence on the Dark Moon Sword Guild, such as finding out how they could level up so quickly, why they were so adept at fighting, and if there were any secret techniques or skills to learn.

Fang Zheng didn’t fear them learning. In fact, if those guilds could actually learn, his pressure would decrease. After all, the stronger the allies, the easier the challenge, right?

But Fang Zheng doubted... if they could really manage it.

As Fang Zheng anticipated, many of these ”spy” players from other guilds complained incessantly after just a few days of training and chose to leave, taking whatever intelligence they gathered back with them. The leaders of these guilds were speechless before the high-intensity, hellish, devil-style training designed by Fang Zheng. They certainly didn’t think Fang Zheng was putting on a show. According to those ”spy” reports, the girls of the Dark Moon Sword Guild trained alongside them every day, and their training intensity was even greater.

A person only has twenty-four hours a day. Even if they were pretending, they couldn’t waste that much time. Levels don’t lie. This left only one possibility: the guild could successfully defeat the first level lord not through tricks or secrets, but by steady, step-by-step leveling up.

At this, the various guild leaders were stumped. They also understood why Fang Zheng wasn’t afraid of them learning — such hellish training wasn’t something every guild could implement. If they forced it, who knew what the guild members would think!

So, faced with this intelligence, these leaders either gritted their teeth and attempted to implement the training regimen, or they tried a lightweight version to test the waters, or simply abandoned plans to learn from the Dark Moon Sword, continuing on their path.

Of course, aside from these spies, many players genuinely wanted to join the Dark Moon Sword. These players indeed gritted their teeth and followed the guild’s training. For these players, Fang Zheng waved his hand and sent them directly to the front line for combat.

No matter how intense the training, it’s still different from actual combat. The saying ”a hero in training ground, a coward on the battlefield” applies everywhere. Some people are naturally not suited for battle; they may excel in training, but when faced with true life-or-death combat, they reveal their flaws and weaknesses.

Fang Zheng naturally wouldn’t abandon them. Although their contribution to boss battles wasn’t significant, their effort and spirit were commendable. Thus, he organized them into a mid-level gathering team. Their primary task was to go to various areas and gather materials needed for logistics profession skills.

This task was relatively simple, with no boss encounters or Dungeon instances to conquer, but it was equally indispensable for a guild.

After all this, the Dark Moon Sword Guild, including logistics, expanded to eighty members — of course, more than half of them were in logistics roles.

But the most important thing is...

”Why are they all women?”

Looking at the list before him, Fang Zheng sighed helplessly and then looked up at Eiriri and Aoba. In response to Fang Zheng’s inquiry, Aoba smiled wryly and shook her head, saying nothing, while Eiriri snorted.

”What can I do about it? Those guys have such sleazy eyes. You didn’t see how their eyes lingered all over us after they came in. It made me sick! If we let people like that join the guild, then what?!”

”Haa...”

In response to Eiriri’s answer, Fang Zheng sighed and shrugged his shoulders.

He didn’t personally attend the interview part of the guild application, delegating it to others. But to be honest, even for interviews, Fang Zheng didn’t have many good choices on his team.

Black Cat may seem full of chuunibyou with her ”I’m the Nightmare Queen, who do I fear?” attitude, but she behaved like a panda in front of strangers, unable to speak clearly.

Asuna preferred leveling up over interviews. Currently, she’s leading the Dark Moon Sword’s leveling team — which is partly why many players couldn’t handle the training and quit. The nickname ”Training Demon” isn’t for nothing.

Yuki and Leafa were too young, innocent, and pure, unsuitable for roles involving interaction with people.

As for Gabriel — if Fang Zheng didn’t keep an eye on her, she’d just find a place to sleep. Counting on her to do work would be like expecting pigs to climb trees.

Ester and Restia needed to level up and scout maps with Fang Zheng, so they didn’t have time for these minor matters, nor were they interested.

Thus, Fang Zheng ultimately decided to have Eiriri and Aoba take charge... Both were high school students, so they should be fine in handling interactions, right?

But Fang Zheng overlooked one thing — Eiriri’s psychological issues.

Ever since encountering sexual harassment from male players in the initial game, Eiriri seemed to have developed a severe aversion to males. While Fang Zheng, being a little older, was fine, encounters with male players of similar or close age made Eiriri tense up.

Of course, she didn’t show it outwardly. No matter who the interviewee was, Eiriri always wore a perfect young lady’s smile, greeting them warmly, but once they left...

”Why did you reject this guy with the axe?”

”Because his eyes were lecherous, and as soon as he came in, they roamed all over me and Aoba. How could I let someone like him join the guild?! Don’t be fooled by his honest act now. I bet that if he joined, he’d reveal his true nature soon after, and Aoba would be his first target!”

As she spoke, Eiriri pointed at Aoba, causing Aoba to shiver involuntarily.

”I guarantee you, President, that if this man joined, he’d look for opportunities to secretly photograph Aoba and then use them to blackmail her into doing those things with him, and Aoba is so obedient, she’d be afraid to resist. Eventually, he’d take even more embarrassing photos, and he’d just get worse and worse...”

”Alright, alright, that’s enough. Don’t go into too much detail; Aoba looks about to faint.”

Seeing Aoba turning pale and shivering in a corner, Fang Zheng hurriedly interrupted Eiriri’s ’indescribable’ monologue. If it continued, things could really become ’indescribable.’

”Then what about the one with the long spear? He looks safe and has a high level.”

”He’s clearly a fat otaku type! He’s probably the kind who pretends to be meek and doesn’t dare to speak but watches us while fantasizing about all sorts of pervy things and doing it himself. The thought of being a side dish for such a fatty gives me goosebumps!! He’d stare at our legs or some part and snicker, then fantasize about making us his slaves... I’m so disgusted!”

”Stop, stop...!!”

Fang Zheng interrupted Eiriri again, pointing at the next candidate.

”Well, what about this one? He’s not very handsome nor sleazy, seems quite friendly...”

”These are the most untrustworthy, President!!”

To Fang Zheng’s surprise, Eiriri exploded before he finished speaking.

”Listen closely! These seemingly harmless ’nice guys’ are the most dangerous and shouldn’t be underestimated! They appear gentle and oblivious yet unknowingly captivate other women. If he joins us, I guarantee several girls here will be attracted, causing all kinds of drama... Ah, those indecisive men are the worst! And he’s wearing glasses... why is he wearing glasses in an online game?!!”

...

Looking at the enraged Eiriri, Fang Zheng decisively chose to remain silent, but seeing her now, he really wanted to ask — why did the last part seem like the main point to her?
