Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 866: Chapter 865: Young Girls Should Not Go Out Alone at Night

For Aoko, this nightmare-like photography session lasted for a whole hour. What made her collapse even more was that Yuzu got involved later on!!

And her reason was actually...

”Recently, Aoko, you’ve been a bit lazy with your magecraft studies. This might be a good opportunity. Let’s do this, if you can’t complete your assignments on time in the future, I’ll distribute these photos at your school.”

Hearing this, Aoko felt like dying...

”Just you wait!!”

After the shoot was over, Aoko, having changed her clothes, angrily glared at Fang Zheng.

”One day, one day I’m going to get back at you, to show you what I’m made of! At that time, I’ll strip you and take pics of you naked! You remember that! I will never give up!!”

”You’re always welcome.”

However, Fang Zheng naturally didn’t take Aoko’s outcries seriously.

”But next time, if you lose, I won’t just take photos... Maybe I’ll have you wear cat ears and a tail for a walk in the park.”

”Uu...”

Hearing Fang Zheng’s words, Aoko’s face turned instantly red.

”Shameless, utterly shameless!”

”Or are you wanting me to do something even more shameless? If that’s the case, you better be mentally prepared, because it might hurt a bit.”

”Of course not, you little kid, how do you know so much strange stuff!”

”Because I’m the Akina Mountain pro, I can drive an 86 with one hand without going into the drainage ditch.”

Even though she didn’t understand what Fang Zheng meant, Aoko obviously realized that this seemingly frail and cute little girl was actually a terrifying figure inside. So she went straight back to her room to practice magecraft— because if she didn’t complete her assignments within the specified time, Yuzu would really throw those unspeakable photos to the school!

At that time, her reputation as the ”President of Iron Student Council” would be completely ruined!!

Humph, just try and challenge me.

Seeing Aoko retreat in defeat with a resignation card hanging high, Fang Zheng let out a pleased chuckle, then sat back on the sofa and casually picked up a cup of tea. At this moment, Fang Zheng noticed Yuzu, who had been sitting on the sofa reading, get up, put down her book, and then walk to the door to grab the coat hanging on the rack.

”Where are you going so late?”

Seeing Yuzu looking like she was going out, Fang Zheng couldn’t help but be surprised.

”It’s about to snow, it’s not good for a girl to go out alone at night.”

”I have some things to do.”

Yuzu replied indifferently, then turned around and left.

”I’ll leave Aoko to you.”

”... You really trust me, huh.”

Watching Yuzu’s departing figure, Fang Zheng was speechless. Her transformation would be complete in four or five hours. But honestly speaking, Fang Zheng truly felt a bit intrigued by these two girls, especially this girl named Yuzu, since he had no understanding of what she was thinking. She seemed to be living with a Buddhist-like tranquility, knowing full well that this place was a magician’s base. According to the intel Fang Zheng had from playing the FATE game, a magician’s base should usually be strictly guarded and off-limits to outsiders.

But he’d only known them for less than a day, and he’d already stripped Aoko naked for artistic photography, yet now she was just leaving him here so trustingly to go out?

Was she confident in her defenses? Or did she trust Fang Zheng’s character?

Fang Zheng couldn’t figure it out, so he decided not to think about it, casually turning on the TV to watch some programs. Incidentally, he originally intended to contact Fiore and others through the terminal to check on the current situation. But Fang Zheng thought better of it, realizing he hadn’t solved her leg problem yet, he felt embarrassed to reach out. Although Fiore was a well-educated lady and likely wouldn’t bring it up proactively, Fang Zheng still felt uncomfortable...

He had clearly said that after the Holy Grail War he’d find a way to heal her legs, but now he hadn’t found a suitable method at all... and he had no clue if Mirune and Lulana had made any progress researching the catalyst from Resident Evil.

Considering that the young lady was still working tirelessly, Fang Zheng felt even more embarrassed to meet her.

This era’s Earth technology was considerably backward, without even a simple LCD monitor, and computers used bulky CRT displays. The TV at Yuzu’s home was naturally an old model too, but it brought Fang Zheng a bit of childhood nostalgia. He turned on the TV, watched some drama, then heard a series of rapid footsteps outside, followed by the ”clang” of the front door opening. A breathless Aoko burst into the room.

”Yuzu, I’ve completed my assignment!! Eh?”

Seeing the red ponytail watching TV, Aoko paused.

”Where’s Yuzu?”

”Who knows, she said she had something to do and went out, maybe for a walk.”

Fang Zheng put down the remote, yawned, and looked at the clock. In a few more hours, the transformation limit would be lifted. Fang Zheng planned to find a place to hide before then, as he wasn’t sure if his transformation would automatically lift at the time or if he could freely undo it. If it was the latter, that’d be fine; if the former... then Fang Zheng definitely couldn’t let Aoko see him.

Otherwise, she might really try to kill him.

”Yuzu... went out?”

Upon hearing Fang Zheng’s answer, Aoko furrowed her brow. She wanted to say something but ended up saying nothing as she returned to her room. Fang Zheng then stretched lazily and stood up.

”Hmm, well, I should also...”

”———————!!”

Just at that moment, a scene rapidly flashed before Fang Zheng’s eyes.

The snow-covered ground, a black-haired girl lying on it, and the flowing blood...

”Future Sight, huh? Looks like there’s trouble.”

Fang Zheng blinked and snapped back to reality. Although he didn’t understand exactly what was happening, it seemed Yuzhu was in danger... Well, considering she at least gave him food and shelter for a night (even if the food was takeout), it was time to repay that kindness!

Thinking of this, Fang Zheng immediately left the Western Mansion and swiftly headed down the mountain.

Where exactly?

As he leaped swiftly down the mountain, Fang Zheng recalled the future vision he had just seen. Judging by the environment in the scene, it seemed to be a park, but this wasn’t Fuyuki City... It wouldn’t be easy to find a park here...

”——————!!”

However, at that moment, a roar suddenly echoed. Fang Zheng quickly turned his head toward the direction of the sound and saw a massive figure, seven or eight meters tall, emerge from the outskirts of the town. That was obviously not an illusion or a parade balloon, meaning... Was Yuzhu fighting someone there?

Gotta catch up!

While praying inwardly, Fang Zheng sped up again, rushing towards the battleground.

In just the blink of an eye, Fang Zheng swiftly crossed the streets and reached the open ground. At the same time, he saw the giant stone figure begin to move. It raised its hand high and slammed it down forcefully. But the next moment, a sudden golden radiance burst forth, effortlessly shattering the stone giant into fragments. Immediately after, a black silhouette, with blood scattering around, flew backward.

”Not good!!”

Seeing the severely injured girl, Fang Zheng immediately leaped to Yuzhu’s side, grabbing her as they landed on the ground. Simultaneously, the sound of rushing wind suddenly arose, and Fang Zheng saw a golden-furred giant wolf pouncing toward him.

”Get away from me!”

Without hesitation, Fang Zheng summoned a greatsword to strike at the incoming giant wolf, sending it flying.

”Yuzhu, are you alright... tsk, this is really bad.”

Only then did Fang Zheng look down at Yuzhu in his arms and found a massive hole carved into her abdomen, with shredded flesh and blood fragments everywhere.

”Ugh...”

At this moment, Yuzhu shivered and slightly opened her eyes. Upon seeing Fang Zheng, she couldn’t help but be taken aback.

”How are you...”

”I had a bad feeling and came out to see. Why didn’t you say you were going to pick a fight? If I’d come with you, there wouldn’t be this much trouble.”

Saying this, Fang Zheng placed his hand on Yuzhu’s shredded abdomen, and the next moment, the power of time began to coalesce. Soon, Yuzhu’s body, where it had been torn apart, rapidly healed and returned to normal.

”Phew...”

Seeing this, Fang Zheng finally breathed a sigh of relief, then let Yuzhu down and looked forward. Not far ahead stood a woman in a green coat with a gloomy expression, short orange hair, and glasses, coldly staring at him. By her side was that golden giant wolf.

”Who are you?”

”That’s what I want to ask you.”

Faced with the woman’s inquiry, Fang Zheng snorted coldly.

”Who are you? Coming here to fight someone and even bringing a Fantasy Species to bully a little girl, do you have any decency?”

”C-careful...”

Yuzhu, who had just caught her breath, sat up slowly, gazing at the woman opposite.

”She is Aoko Aozaki, our... enemy.”

”Aoko Aozaki?”

Hearing Yuzhu’s reply, Fang Zheng paused for a moment, tilting his head.

”Aoko Aozaki, Aozaki, Aozaki... why does this name sound so familiar?”

Fang Zheng mumbled for a while, then suddenly had an epiphany, clapping his hands vigorously.

”Oh, right, it’s the Wounded Crimson!”
