Chapter 883: Chapter 882: The Trajectory of the Absolute Sword

”Swish!!”

At that moment, the longsword in Yuki’s hand flew rapidly towards Fang Zheng as if it were a bolt of lightning, the sharp blade targeting Fang Zheng’s chest directly. Clearly, she wanted to seize victory by attacking first and exploiting the slow reaction speed characteristic of Fang Zheng’s greatsword!

”Good timing!”

Seeing the longsword thrusting towards him, Fang Zheng’s eyes gleamed. From just this one strike, he could already discern that the girl named Yuki in front of him was no ordinary fighter!

In this game, the most crucial aspect in judging strength is reaction speed. It’s quite similar to the essence of many online games: the faster your reactions, the higher your APM, and the naturally stronger your abilities. In some respect, Yuki’s speed was comparable to that of Black Cat.

However, strictly speaking, even with reaction speed as the focus for both, there were significant differences between them. The Black Cat was as agile and elusive as a real cat, whereas Yuki was more like a breath-taking lightning bolt.

If we were to draw comparisons from Martial Hero novels, then Black Cat practices Ghost Step, following an unusual and strange path. In contrast, Yuki practices Yue Female Sword, relying on the idea that speed is unbeatable.

Just this one strike is enough to push most people to the brink of defeat, but naturally, Fang Zheng is not among them.

Facing Yuki’s head-on strike, Fang Zheng raised his greatsword without hesitation and slashed down!

”Huh?”

Seeing Fang Zheng’s reaction, Yuki exclaimed in surprise. Until now, she had always relied on seizing the initiative in her attacks, and almost no one could react quickly, especially since she expected that Fang Zheng, using a greatsword, should actually be evading her attack. But to her astonishment, Fang Zheng chose to counterattack!

Upon realizing this, Yuki promptly reacted. She planted her foot on the ground and shifted to the left, her entire body moving like smoke as she attempted to attack from Fang Zheng’s side. Yet at this moment, Yuki was startled to see the man in front not retreating but advancing, charging towards her whilst dragging his greatsword!

Good move!

Facing Fang Zheng’s direct charge, Yuki thrust her sword resolutely once again, aiming lightning-like at Fang Zheng. This time, facing Yuki’s attack, Fang Zheng performed an inexplicable maneuver.

He took a step forward, then released his grip with his left hand and forcefully slapped ahead!

Fang Zheng’s reaction was truly unexpected for Yuki. Her previous strike should have perfectly enveloped Fang Zheng within her attack range, but surprisingly, Fang Zheng closed the distance again!

This surely disadvantages the use of a greatsword!

However, Yuki soon understood Fang Zheng’s intention.

Just as Yuki was about to pierce Fang Zheng’s body, his shoulder slightly lowered, and Yuki’s longsword brushed past Fang Zheng’s shoulder and missed its target. Simultaneously, Fang Zheng’s left hand, which had slapped forward, coincidentally struck Yuki’s right wrist holding the sword.

”Snap!!”

Although unarmed strikes don’t inflict damage on players, Fang Zheng’s move directly swayed Yuki’s right hand, causing the missed longsword to sway to the side. At this moment, Yuki was wide open, losing her balance!

Not good!!

As a highly skilled player, Yuki clearly understood her dire situation. As expected, in that moment, Fang Zheng grasped his greatsword with both hands and swung it horizontally at Yuki!

”Woo----!”

This time, no matter how fast Yuki’s reaction speed, she couldn’t evade. All she could do was tightly grit her teeth, flip her longsword to block her side. Yet, the next moment, Fang Zheng’s greatsword roared past like a tornado, striking heavily on the girl’s petite body and sending her flying.

”Swish———!”

Although during duel mode, each side’s health and enhancements get automatically balanced, and all supplementary strengthening effects are canceled, the base attack power differences between weapons do not disappear, and Fang Zheng’s greatsword is one of the highest attack power weapons in the game. This hit instantly depleted one-fifth of Yuki’s health.

Nevertheless, Fang Zheng wouldn’t miss this opportunity. He raised his greatsword without hesitation and swung it at Yuki again. At this point, Yuki snapped back to reality, her longsword darting lightning-like to face the oncoming greatsword.

”Clang! Clang! Clang!!”

The cheers and applause had unknowingly faded away. All players were left in shock staring at the duel arena’s two combatants. Whether it was Yuki’s lightning-like thrust or Fang Zheng’s wild whirlwind slashes, both possessed an enthralling allure, akin to viewing the most perfect movie scene, compelling some to clench their fists and hold their breath.

Although Yuki indeed had great talent and practiced hard, Fang Zheng’s extensive combat experience far exceeded hers. Even though both sides saw their health diminish to a certain extent during the attacks, the massive initial damage dealt made Yuki’s position extremely unfavorable; if this continues, she will definitely be the first to fall!

”Ha———!”

Having resolved this, Yuki decisively made up her mind. Shouting aloud, she split her longsword into three sudden thrusts at Fang Zheng’s greatsword!

”Clang clang clang!!”

With three urgent clashes, Fang Zheng’s greatsword was eventually blocked and swayed aside by Yuki’s thrusts. At the same time, Yuki stomped her foot, becoming a nearly invisible light shadow rushing swiftly towards Fang Zheng, with her longsword radiating brilliance and aiming at Fang Zheng’s chest fiercely!

This strike landed!

Watching the scene unfold, Yuki couldn’t help but feel a surge of joy. She could confidently ascertain that Fang Zheng wouldn’t be able to block or evade her attack this time; the stiffness period of his greatsword barely passed, yet her longsword was about to pierce Fang Zheng’s body. Right now, even if Fang Zheng wanted to dodge, he wouldn’t have sufficient time!

However......when Yuki glanced at Fang Zheng again, she was surprised to find no trace of surprise on his face.

Conversely, he slightly lifted the corners of his mouth, revealing a peculiar smile.

Eh?

At this moment, suddenly, Yuki felt a rush of impact through the blade in her hand, and then the longsword was instantly knocked out of her hand!

What’s going on? What on earth is happening?

Yuki, utterly astonished, opened her eyes wide, and only then did she finally see what knocked her longsword away.

It was precisely the hilt of the greatsword Fang Zheng was holding.

It can be used like this?!

This was Yuki’s only thought when she saw Fang Zheng raise the greatsword once again and hack down at her.

”Boom!!”

The massive blade hit directly onto Yuki’s petite body, blasting her into the sky. Then, heavily swinging and cutting down, the next thing seen was Yuki rolling out from the dust, falling to the ground, and her HP fell to the lowest red range at that moment.

[Duel Over!]

The system’s mechanical prompt echoed in the duel arena, yet the surrounding onlookers stood there as if frozen by a spell, then after a moment, a thunderous roar of cheers and applause instantly erupted.

”Amazing! Incredible! So cool!! I never thought someone could use a greatsword this stylishly!!”

”Hey, hey, hey, this is a game! Why do I feel like I just watched a movie? Isn’t that man an NPC in the game or something? Can a player manage to do this?!”

”He could actually block attacks with the hilt; wait a minute, the hilt can be used this way, why didn’t I think of that?!”

At this time, many players were excited beyond measure, not just because of the intense battle that Fang Zheng and Yuki displayed moments ago but because of the tactics Fang Zheng employed during the fight.

Using his hand to block and alter the trajectory of the opponent’s attack, using the hilt to block attacks.

Such things were never thought of by ordinary players; all along, they just foolishly held the weapon in their hands and fought. But now, Fang Zheng’s way of using weapons seemed to open a door for these players, granting them a whole new understanding.

It can be used this way!!

Amidst the crowd’s excited discussions and speculations, Fang Zheng sheathed his greatsword and came to Yuki’s side. At this moment, the girl also stood up, showing no loss from defeat; instead, she looked quite delighted, as if she had won a lottery, feeling excited.

”Big brother, you’re really amazing! I didn’t think that could be done either! You’re incredible!”

”If you want to learn, I can teach you.”

Fang Zheng smiled slightly at Yuki.

”So, would you like to join my team?”

”Of course, big brother, even if you want me to leave now, I wouldn’t go!”

”Great, then let’s go.”

Since Yuki had agreed to join, Fang Zheng had no reason to stay here any longer. He led Yuki out of the crowd and then intended to head over to Argo’s place and have her help find other potential members to join. But just then, a figure suddenly appeared beside Fang Zheng, blocking his path.

”Hello, sir.”

The one who appeared before Fang Zheng was the black-haired girl who had previously dueled with Yuki but was defeated in the end. She now wore a polite smile, calmly and steadily gazing at Fang Zheng.

”Pardon my rudeness... but I overheard what you said earlier... You’re not able to create a guild yet due to insufficient numbers, is that right? So, would you like to come to our ’Dark Nebula’? We have many logistic players but not too many frontline warriors. If possible, I’d like to invite you to join.”

With that, the black-haired girl bowed respectfully to Fang Zheng.

”Let me introduce myself. I’m Black Snow Princess, the president of the ’Dark Nebula’ guild. If you’re willing to come to our guild, we’ll provide you with comprehensive support in terms of supplies and all you need to focus on is combat. If you’re not planning to separate, I can allow you to form a separate combat group, specializing in that area... What do you think, sir?”

”Hmm...”

Upon hearing this, Fang Zheng curiously looked at the girl named Black Snow Princess. He had to admit, this girl was the most intelligent person he had met since coming to this world, and her terms were quite attractive, enough to tempt many people.

But unfortunately, Fang Zheng had his own plans.

”No need, thank you for your offer, but I prefer to be in control of my own guild. But I think there might be many opportunities for us to collaborate in the future.”

”Alright.”

The girl’s smile remained unchanged, even when rejected, she didn’t seem angry. On the contrary, Black Snow Princess opened the panel and curiously looked at Fang Zheng.

”So how about we add each other as friends?”

”Of course, there’s no problem.”

For Black Snow Princess’s request, Fang Zheng gladly agreed.
