Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 888: Chapter 887 Unexpected Discovery

”Finally arrived here......”

The girl wiped the sweat from her forehead and looked at the castle ruins in the distance.

”I mean... do we really have to go there?”

”We can’t not go, right? These are the guild orders... they said we should scout the first-level lord’s situation...”

Hearing the girl’s inquiry, a heavy axe warrior dressed in warrior leather armor replied in a low voice.

”But doesn’t the ’Survival Manual’ suggest we should at least be level 20 before going? We’re only level 16 now, isn’t that a bit too low?”

”No choice, it’s Her Royal Highness’s orders, and we’re only scouting, not fighting, as long as we avoid those creatures’... what’s it called again...”

”Detection range!”

”Right, detection range, detection range.”

The heavy axe warrior couldn’t help but scratch the back of his head and smiled wryly.

”Getting old, really can’t keep up with you young ones.”

”Anyway, leave it to you, I’ll go take a look...”

While speaking softly, the girl lowered her posture and quietly passed through the bushes. Then she poked her head out, looking in the direction of the castle ruins, and then she was surprised and widened her eyes.

”Eh?”

”What’s wrong? Are there a lot of creatures?”

”No......”

The girl shook her head, then rubbed her eyes and once again looked carefully forward.

”There’s no creature.”

”None?? Are you sure?”

Hearing this, the heavy axe warrior hurriedly poked his head out, looking forward. Sure enough, they saw that on the wilderness outside the huge abandoned castle gate ahead, it was empty, not even the shadow of a creature. This surprised the two of them, and they looked at each other. After a moment, the heavy axe warrior spoke up.

”What should we do?”

”We......”

”Look over there!”

But the girl hadn’t finished speaking when a radiance suddenly flashed from afar, and the heavy axe warrior looked up in surprise, looking inside the castle gate.

”It seems someone is battling!”

”You mean someone already plans to take down the lord?”

Hearing this, the girl also immediately perked up, and she also poked her head out, looking forward. Sure enough, a distinct, cross-shaped light appeared in the distance, which was the unique manifestation when players used sword skills.

”Already someone started to tackle the first level core zone?!”

”What do we do?”

”.........”

Staring into the depths of the castle gate, the girl hesitated for a moment, then made a decision.

”Let’s go have a look.”

”Wait, are you really going?”

The heavy axe warrior was astonished to hear the girl’s answer.

”This is the core zone where the lord is! What if we get trapped inside?”

”But now someone’s going to tackle the lord, we can’t just stand by and watch.”

While speaking, the girl stood up.

”I want to see, if they’re successful, then we will be the first to witness the lord’s defeat, right? If they encounter any danger, we can also help. Come on, if we wait any longer, the creatures will respawn! If we can’t find anyone, we’ll just use the transfer crystal!”

After saying this, the girl leaped out from the bushes and quickly ran toward the castle, while the heavy axe warrior sighed helplessly, lifted his axe, and hurriedly followed.

”Clang!! Clang clang clang!!!”

Since they didn’t encounter any enemies, the two quickly passed through the wilderness and entered the castle. Following the sound of weapons clashing, the girl and the heavy axe warrior soon reached the battlefield without much effort.

”Wow ah......”

Leaning against a corner, the girl sneakily poked her head out, looking toward the battlefield on the other side, and then widened her eyes and exclaimed in awe.

”What’s wrong?”

Seeing the girl’s expression, the heavy axe warrior also curiously poked his head out, looking forward, and then was likewise stunned.

Not far ahead on the clearing, several figures were ferociously fighting with a group of kobold guards. They were dressed in pitch-black cloaks and coats, wielding weapons and battling the kobold guards. However, what surprised the two wasn’t just that these people wore unified uniforms, but it was their combat style.

The girl and the heavy axe warrior were also part of the guild, usually doing leveling up and battling creatures with others, so they were quite familiar with group battles. However, when they fought creatures, it was mostly chaotic, as players were ultimately just players with no discipline, so during fights, everyone mostly fought on their own.

But these players were completely different.

They advanced and retreated in an orderly manner, and they had a special aura that no other players had. Even when faced with the siege of dozens of kobold guards, these players easily blocked the opponent’s attacks and took down their foes swiftly. Their actions were crisp, neat, and skillful, appearing like scenes that would only exist in movies.

”Hey hey hey, are these really players?”

Staring at this scene, the heavy axe warrior was so surprised he didn’t even know what to say. If it weren’t for the lock-on icon in his eyes showing that the others were indeed players, the heavy axe warrior would have thought they were some kind of NPCs in the game, and that perhaps he had triggered some game event.

”Leafa! You moved too slow! Gabriel, watch the right wing! Eiriri! Listen to my command, three, two, one... Asuna, Black Cat, now, charge!”

As this voice fell, the girl and the heavy axe warrior saw a figure appear as if out of nowhere, jumping from behind a rear kobold archer. Her dagger, with skill radiance, slashed fiercely, bursting into a brilliant cross-shaped light. This instantly engulfed the three kobold archers at the back of the group. Although the dagger’s attack power wasn’t enough to one-shot the kobold archers, this strike quickly scattered the kobold formation.

At this moment, two figures shot out like arrows from the group, charging straight ahead. Wherever they passed, the kobolds let out screams and shattered, disappearing. These two figures pierced the entire kobold formation like a sharp sword, completely disrupting their rhythm and direction. Then, the others also acted quickly, and it didn’t take long before this group of kobold creatures was completely annihilated.

”Wow... amazing!!”

Seeing the last kobold eliminated, the girl clenched her fists excitedly, almost wanting to shout out, but luckily she remembered she was on a scouting mission and quickly covered her mouth.

”Who are these people... I’ve never heard of such a team before?”

The heavy axe warrior was obviously thinking more, and he reached out to pull the girl.

”I say, let’s go, these people are too strong and we don’t know if they’re good or bad. If they find us, we will have a hard time explaining...”

”What are you talking about, they came here to take down the lord for everyone, how could they be bad?”

The girl clearly disagreed with the heavy axe warrior’s words, protesting while poking her head out again, looking forward.

”Ha ah...”

Putting down her dagger, Eiriri discontentedly kicked a stone.

”This game is too unfair, we can only use melee weapons, and these creatures can shoot arrows? Is there any justice?”

”Why are you talking about justice with creatures.”

Fang Zheng shook his head helplessly, then scanned the surroundings.

”Rest here for a bit and get ready to move forward.”

Saying this, Fang Zheng paused for a moment, looking at the girls before him, then randomly pointed at someone.

”Aoba.”

”Ah, yes, Mr. Fang Zheng! What is it?!”

Hearing Fang Zheng’s voice, Aoba, who was resting beside him, jumped up in fear, like a student caught doing something wrong in class, staring at him without blinking.

”Since we entered the castle, how many types of creatures have we encountered?”

”Uh...... ruined kobold guards, ruined kobold sentinels, ruined kobold archers...”

”What weapons do they each wield? In groups of how many?”

”Guards wield axes, sentinels wield long spears and shields, archers use bows... all in groups of three...”

”Good... Leafa!”

”Here!”

This time Leafa also quickly stood up.

”Which has the larger attack range, the guards or the sentinels? Which is faster? Which should be prioritized for attack?”

”Sentinels have a larger attack range, guards are faster, guards should be prioritized...”

”Don’t forget next time.”

Fang Zheng nodded at Leafa, who then exhaled in relief. Then Fang Zheng’s gaze swept past Leafa, glanced back, and quickly retracted. He subtly signaled to Ester and Restia with his eyes.

”Alright, let’s continue forward.”
