Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 856: Chapter 855: Resetting the Starting Point is Also Part of the Game

Fang Zheng’s question is not unreasonable. If, according to Fina, the Goddess’s power is spread across every corner of this world, then theoretically, can’t everyone, like this NPC, somehow ”extract” it and directly gain Divine Power to become a Demigod?

But in fact, throughout all this time in the Main World, he hasn’t seen many Demigods.

Strictly speaking, this NPC is the first one.

”This is not easy.”

Fina shook her head.

”Mr. Fang Zheng, do you recall in our world, everyone has a star corresponding to their destiny?”

”Of course, I remember, the Star Pattern.”

Fang Zheng wouldn’t forget this matter. It was the first thing he encountered when he came to this world, something that seemed like a myth or legend but existed for real, leaving a deep impression on him.

”Everyone has their own star, which is also their fate, but it’s also their Source of Power.”

At this point, Fina paused, looked up at the night sky.

”Yet, few truly understand the real meaning of this legend.”

”Real meaning?”

”Exactly.”

Fina nodded emphatically.

”In the legend, every intelligent life has a star corresponding to their destiny, which is a gift from the Goddess. However, it’s not just a gift, but also their power and duty.”

”This... I don’t quite understand.”

Fang Zheng shrugged, glancing at the sky. He knew what Fina was talking about, but Fang Zheng had a different perspective on the ”stars” than Fina. He had been to space; in space, everything was pitch black, with no Sun or Moon visible, and naturally no stars could be seen. Thus, the starlight across the night sky seemed suspicious to Fang Zheng.

Therefore, he was interested in seeing how Fina explained all of this.

”The Goddess banished Chaos and saved this world. However, everything in the universe doesn’t remain unchanged forever; perhaps order will also fade someday, so the Goddess linked the fate of life with the world’s order.”

Speaking, Fina pointed to those stars.

”Each point of starlight represents a life and the law of order it contains... the Source of Order. In fact, Mr. Fang Zheng, you should not be unfamiliar with this, as every powerhouse possesses their own Domain, and its source comes from this.”

”Wait, my mind’s a bit muddled; let me sort things out...”

Upon hearing this, Fang Zheng immediately raised his hand to signal Fina to pause. He roughly understood Fina’s meaning, but because of this, Fang Zheng was increasingly shocked.

In the Main World, powerhouses each possess different Legendary power attributes and traits, which Fang Zheng naturally understood; he had come across Legendary Powerhouses like that ”Dragon Slayer” and the Lich he encountered at Golden Bay, both demonstrating the power of domain rules.

Initially, Fang Zheng didn’t pay much attention to this, as he’d seen a lot of it in online novels — whether it’s the Time Law, Space Law, Energy Law, the Law of Flame, and so on. He had grown tired of seeing them. Therefore, when he saw these Domain powers, Fang Zheng subconsciously associated them with the online novels he’d read, since nobody else had another explanation, right?

But if he considered it from Fina’s perspective, it was entirely different!

”... So what you mean is, those powerhouses don’t master their power themselves, but every person is part of the Order rules; they merely discovered and awakened the power hidden within them?”

”Yes, originally, it’s a gradual process. Powerhouses would slowly comprehend their Source of Order and master the power of rules. But...”

At this point, Fina’s expression turned somewhat sad.

”Uncle Rand did not follow this path.”

”What happens if you don’t follow this path?”

”He would be assimilated by the rules of order, becoming a mere extreme order embodiment. In fact, Mr. Fang Zheng, you saw that after awakening, Uncle Rand was indeed assimilated reversed...”

”Hmm...”

After listening to Fina’s explanation, Fang Zheng squinted his eyes and thought deeply. To be honest, Fina’s words reminded him of the Lizard Man from the Western Continent. After receiving the ’Secret Treasure,’ it showed a reaction almost identical to Rand, excessively displaying some rule power in an attempt to assimilate everything around. According to Fina, this was clearly a sign of order losing control.

So, in other words, the so-called Secret Treasure is something that forcibly allows people to sense their rule source and gain power?

If this is the case, it might explain why Williams initially wanted to use Secret Treasure when facing Sanctuary pursuers and why the Doomsday Church was so interested in Secret Treasure. After all, if it could potentially create a Deity, who wouldn’t want it?

But this also doesn’t explain the intensity of the ”Secret Treasure.” According to Fang Zheng’s memory, Williams was the most unfortunate; he died after using Secret Treasure, achieving nothing. The Lizard Man was slightly stronger, but the power it displayed was far from what Rand, this NPC, could do.

Could it be that the success rate of the ”Secret Treasure” is also based on luck? Like drawing from a card pool, you don’t have a chance to become a Demigod every time you use the Secret Treasure, requiring continuous attempts. But generally, after failing once, an ordinary person dies on the spot. So someone created that space and repeated it as a trial?

That’s quite a viable approach.

However... forcibly awakening the source to gain power, why does this concept seem familiar?

Forget it, thinking about these things now is useless.

Fang Zheng shook his head. He already knew the function of the ”Secret Treasure,” but there are still two very important issues that remain unresolved. One is where the ”Secret Treasure” comes from and how it is made. The other is who created that space, although it was just an abandoned space, according to Little Angel, it was clearly man-made...

”Mr. Fang Zheng?”

Just then, Fina’s voice sounded again. Fang Zheng returned to his senses, looking at the girl priestess before him, and found her staring at him anxiously.

”Well... I would like to ask you something... The Chaos Power you used before, that was...”

”...”

Damn, how could I have forgotten that!

Seeing the anxious girl priestess before him, Fang Zheng suddenly slapped his forehead. He was preoccupied with dealing with Rand earlier, but he forgot that in the Main World, Chaos is the mortal enemy of order! The Chaos Flames he used were genuinely from the Black Soul World, whereas Fina is a Sanctuary Cleric, extremely sensitive to Chaos; to think she couldn’t notice would be hard for Fang Zheng to believe.

But now... what should he do?

Looking at Fina, Fang Zheng was at a loss.

Perhaps... knock her out and take her back to the Heavenly Dao Palace, a golden house to hide her beauty?
