Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 434: Chapter 433: Exchange Between Two Weapon Races

In the end, Fang Zheng still turned down Nanali’s request to use the Fungal Carpet as a raw material, as it was really too unsightly. If something like nutrient fluid were given to the Kingdom of the Holy Church, it would be comparable to providing a military resource like nuclear material, and they would certainly need to ensure the completeness of the formula. Just imagine if they didn’t know what was in it, and then invited a Legendary Prophet Mage to perform a ”Retrospection” or something...

Wow, watching the Zerg vomit Fungal Carpets would ruin anyone’s appetite for sure. freёweɓnovel_com

Although Nanali was somewhat reluctant, since Fang Zheng had spoken thus, she could only nod in agreement, albeit with great reluctance. Fang Zheng then instructed the two of them to prepare a sufficient amount of finished nutrient fluid... He intended to present it as a gift to the Kingdom of the Holy Church, so he couldn’t just set it aside and forget about it.

After leaving the Alchemy Atelier, Fang Zheng headed for the busiest area of the Heavenly Dao Palace: the Teleportation Gate in the southeast corner.

”Lord Fang Zheng!”

Seeing Fang Zheng’s arrival, Mibu Asaka, who was standing before the Daimon wielding a Taidao, hurriedly paid her respects. Fang Zheng nodded in response to Asaka, who was dressed with a samurai’s character and a black-haired loli appearance he found quite endearing. Of course, it would have been better if the girl were not so rigid and stubborn.

”You must be tired, Asaka. How are things here?”

”All is normal. Up to now, a total of one thousand six hundred and fifty Cursed Children have entered the Heavenly Dao Palace and undergone the purification adjustment.”

So far, the heaviest task of Fang Zheng’s Heavenly Dao Palace was to welcome the Cursed Children from the Pitch Black World. The Cursed Children sent from all over the world were ranked based on the erosion rate of the Intestinal Virus. Those with higher levels of erosion were given priority to enter the Heavenly Dao Palace, and then were teleported to the Insect Hive in the Ironblood World for treatment and adjustment. After the treatment, the Cursed Children would be informed about the rules and conditions of the Heavenly Dao Palace and then would live and study here.

As a result, this was the area with the highest population. Every day, thousands of Cursed Children arrived at the Heavenly Dao Palace, while the first-comers now maintained order and also comforted those who had just arrived and were unfamiliar with everything happening around them.

”Ah, Commander!”

At that moment, Rodney’s voice was heard from not too far away. Fang Zheng turned his head and saw the Mind Models of the Sea Mist Fleet waving cheerfully at him from nearby, not just Rodney, but Iona, Musashi, Takao, and the others had also arrived.

”I didn’t expect to meet you here.”

”Me neither... What brings you here?”

”That’s the thing, Master.”

Rodney approached Fang Zheng with a trot and responded cheerfully.

”We heard yesterday that this Teleportation Gate leads to a world called Ironblood, where there is a special tribe subservient to you, Master. So, we wanted to take a look...”

”Of course, no problem. Come along.”

At Musashi’s reply, Fang Zheng nodded readily. After all, the Zerg might have to operate alongside the Sea Mist Fleet in the future, so it would be good for both sides to have some understanding of each other. Just as he was about to turn around and lead everyone towards the Teleportation Gate, he saw Rodney reach out a hand and take a handkerchief from her bosom to wipe the sweat from Fang Zheng’s forehead.

”Ah... Thank you.”

”Don’t mention it.”

Fang Zheng didn’t show any particular concern for Rodney’s gesture, as she had done the same repeatedly when fetching cores in the Azure World—Fang Zheng was a bit unsettled at first but later got used to it. Rodney smiled slightly at his thanks, then fell two steps behind and followed Fang Zheng toward the Teleportation Gate.

”Ohh...”

Seeing this, both Tina and Aohara Enju, who was hiding not too far behind, frowned at the same time and exchanged a look.

This one’s a formidable rival...

But just then, Fang Zheng noticed some commotion in the crowd not too far away.

”Ugh... Ahhhh!!”

Suddenly, a scream erupted from within the crowd, and the surrounding Cursed Children quickly dispersed to reveal a short-haired black girl lying on the ground, her body trembling uncontrollably.

”Wait, what’s happening?!”

At this scene, the girls maintaining order also hurried over.

”Has her erosion rate reached fifty percent?”

”How could it happen so quickly, didn’t she already receive a sedative?”

”Regardless, let’s get her to treatment first... Once she completely becomes an Intestinal Creature, it will be too late!”

The children of the Heavenly Dao Palace were obviously also very familiar with this kind of situation. After a brief discussion, a decision was quickly made. Then one of the girls hurriedly picked up the black-haired Cursed Child and dashed towards the Ironblood Planet’s Teleportation Gate.

”Has this been happening a lot recently?”

Observing the children’s actions that were skilled and professional, it was clear this wasn’t their first time handling such matters. Fang Zheng couldn’t help but ask out of curiosity, and Mibu Asaka, who was following by his side, nodded in response.

”Yes, Master. It’s been better recently, but before, many of our sisters reached a critical point and were almost unable to hold on... Fortunately, they’ve survived, but... their mutation level is a bit higher than the others.”

”Is that okay?”

Hearing this, Fang Zheng furrowed his brows. Although Mibu Asaka spoke lightly, if one exceeded rank three of mutation, they would essentially be half-human, half-beast. For ordinary children, that would probably be hard to accept.

”It’s fine, but...”

Speaking up to this point, Mibu Asaka paused, then sneaked a glance at Fang Zheng.

”They seem to prefer working under Sister Mirune...”

”......”

Fang Zheng forgot that good looks needed a reference point; even the ugliest person would instantly feel a strong desire to live when compared to the Zerg...

”Let’s go have a look.”

It just so happened that Fang Zheng also planned to take the Mind Models to see the situation in Ironblood, and to check on how these Cursed Children were living. After all, they were his subordinates, and Fang Zheng always cared about his own people. Although the Ironblood homeworld was suitable for human habitation and living, the living conditions weren’t exactly friendly, and it was uncertain how well the Cursed Children could withstand it.

With this in mind, Fang Zheng didn’t hesitate any longer. He led everyone into the Teleportation Gate and in the blink of an eye, they arrived at the Ironblood homeworld.

”Wow...”

Gazing at the planet before them, the Mind Models couldn’t help but express their amazement. Even Musashi, who usually kept her eyes closed, opened them wide in surprise at the scene before her. Although she had already heard Fang Zheng’s ideas, Musashi remained somewhat skeptical until she witnessed it with her own eyes.

But now, having seen this massive planet, so utterly different from Earth, she had no more doubts about what Fang Zheng had said.

”Commander, is this the Zerg you spoke of?”

”Yes.”

Upon hearing the Vampire’s excited inquiry, Fang Zheng nodded.

”In the future, you might very well fight alongside them. Don’t underestimate them; this Swarm is capable of traversing the universe and can be a threatening force even in space combat. And when it comes to ground warfare, no other race is more adept than them.”

”It’s hard to believe...”

Takao was astonished as she watched a worker bee circling around her, her face filled with disbelief.

”These creatures can actually live in space? What kind of body structure do they have...”

”Commander, I hope to communicate with the leaders of this Swarm. We want to understand their abilities and combat methods...”

To Fang Zheng’s surprise, the Mind Models did not show any aversion to the Zerg’s development and combat methods, contrary to what he had thought. After hearing a simple explanation from Fang Zheng, they seemed quite interested in these combat methods. Fang Zheng was initially astonished, but he soon realized the reason—Sea Mist’s Mind Models merely borrowed the appearance of humans, which did not mean they shared human values and moral concepts. Instead, these Mind Models were more about assessing other species from the standpoint of weaponry.

And for this reason, to some extent, the tactical thoughts of both the Swarm and Sea Mist Fleet were similar: neither considered themselves as a life form but as a component, a part of war.

Of course, for Fang Zheng, this was a good thing. After all, the Zerg’s method of combat was hard to associate with the word ”humane.” If it were an army with an intense sense of morality, it would probably be impossible to coordinate in battle with the Zerg.

And it was here that Fang Zheng finally met those Cursed Children who stayed behind, whose mutation level was too high.
