Chapter 419: Chapter 418: The Difficult-to-Conquer Final Map

Although Fang Zheng knew that as the most crucial part of the mission, this was definitely the most difficult map to conquer, yet...

”This is a bit too much...”

Looking at the dense cluster of dots on the radar, not only Fang Zheng but also the others changed their expressions. Many times, when the number reaches a certain limit, it can compensate for the lack of quality. Although most of the forces in the Fourth Sea Area were light cruisers, the sheer number nearly reaching hundreds formed three layers of defense, protecting Musashi within them.

”This is really troublesome...”

If it weren’t a time-limited mission, then Fang Zheng could slowly chip away, eventually clearing all these light cruisers one day. But now, he only had four hours. Once four hours passed, or if Musashi left the Fourth Sea Area, then the operation would be over... This was indeed troublesome!

Is there no choice but to tough it out?

If it weren’t impossible to use the jump engine within the planet, he could just target the coordinates and jump right there, instantly taking down Musashi, but...

”No choice... Rodney, did you hear that?”

”Yes, Commander.”

”Turn off Fortress Mode and head immediately to the Fourth Sea Area. The upcoming battle will center around you. Takao, Vampire, Iona, start self-repair at once! Join up with Rodney and march to the Fourth Sea Area!”

”Understood.”

Following Fang Zheng’s command, the mind models also sprang into action. They left the sea, soared into the sky, and quickly headed toward the Fourth Sea Area. Meanwhile, Rodney also caught up from behind, merging with everyone.

”Iona, you and Rodney activate stealth mode, and try to parachute directly from high up!”

”Understood, Master.”

”Begin the operation, Commander.”

Although currently these several hundred light cruisers were just cannon fodder, Fang Zheng did not plan to waste time on these minor pests. Hearing his order, Iona and Rodney immediately activated stealth mode, then ascended to high altitudes and started heading towards the Fourth Sea Area. Upon their arrival in the Fourth Sea Area, what they first saw was the dense fleet of light cruisers...

”Does this super battleship need to be so afraid of death?”

Looking at the light cruisers in a defensive posture in front of him, Fang Zheng also couldn’t help but sneer. Fortunately, according to Takao, the Sea Mist didn’t have aircraft carriers, so at least there was no need to worry about a slew of carrier-based aircrafts, but...

”Boom boom boom boom boom!!”

Just then, a series of explosions suddenly erupted outside, instantly interrupting Fang Zheng’s thoughts. When he looked outside, he was shocked to see the light cruisers frantically launching anti-air missiles into the sky, creating a vast web of fire, blocking their path.

”What... are these missiles free?”

Seeing this scene, Fang Zheng was utterly speechless. He had to admit, the enemy had taken the quantity tactic to its limit. Normal warships definitely couldn’t fire missiles as freely as throwing beans. However, all missiles of the Sea Mist Warships were self-produced, essentially firing as they manufactured; if there were sufficient materials, they could fire indefinitely. Naturally, the Sea Mist Fleet couldn’t possibly have infinite nano-materials, but it was enough to stop him.

”Continue ascending!”

However, Fang Zheng wasn’t about to give up—what a joke, if it were a regular ship he might reconsider, but this was a cosmic warship! Moreover, Rodney also had orbital striking capability. If things got really bad, having Rodney ascend to near-earth orbit to fire once, Fang Zheng refused to believe that the Musashi could withstand it.

Even if the super battleship was incredible, wasn’t it still a sea vessel?

”Beep—!!”

But what Fang Zheng had not anticipated was that, while Rodney continued to ascend, suddenly, a system warning sound rang beside his ear, followed by a line of system alert appearing in front of Fang Zheng’s eyes.

[Warning: User Fleet is about to leave the mission area, please return immediately.]

MMP!!

Looking at the system prompt before him, Fang Zheng was utterly speechless.

”Rodney, come back.”

”Huh? Yes.......”

Facing Fang Zheng’s order, Rodney was visibly surprised. She, of course, knew what Fang Zheng had been thinking before, but she did not understand why Fang Zheng would change his mind this time. After all, in Rodney’s view, striking from low Earth orbit was indeed a good idea......

What a hassle!

Watching the warning sign disappear, Fang Zheng also heaved a sigh of relief. He had not anticipated this... but now that he thought about it, this was an event instance, how could the system possibly allow him to exploit such an obvious loophole?

But now that it had come to this, was there only one option left...... to forcefully break through?

”Rodney, if you charge with your shields up, what are the chances?”

”This...... It’s hard to say at the moment, Commander.”

Facing Fang Zheng’s inquiry, Rodney gave a slightly troubled response.

”The current firepower is still within a tolerable range, but if we continue to penetrate further......”

Because of being bombarded, combined with Rodney’s massive hull, like a small mountain, one could imagine that if she continued to push forward, she would definitely encounter the enemy’s full attack. Ordinary missiles were not a worry, but attacks from Warships of Sea Mist were an entirely different matter.

To continue advancing under the bombardment of Warships of Sea Mist was clearly unwise, but if they continued to delay, time would only slip away quickly...... What a hassle!

”Rodney, continue moving forward, and attack the Warships of Sea Mist around us, do everything to attract their attention! Takao, you assist Rodney. Vampire, you come with me! Nymph, full radar, lock onto Musashi, don’t let it escape! Iona, go into invisible mode again after leaving the battlefield!”

At this moment, Fang Zheng no longer hesitated and quickly changed his battle plan.

If the system wouldn’t allow him to cheat, then let Rodney and Takao draw the enemy’s attention. Human wave tactics sound useful, but concentrating a large force in one spot naturally weakens defenses elsewhere. Just finding this weak spot and breaking through would suffice. Combined with Vampire’s sabotage, even just a stealth bomber could engage a battleship. If all else failed, he could resort to an exchange of fire like the battle with Takao from before...... This was not a difficult task, was it?

Of course, ideas are always good, but reality is always cruel.......

”Damn!!”

Looking at the number of warships appearing on the radar, Fang Zheng couldn’t help but curse. In the radar’s view, the Musashi Ship was rapidly leaving the Fourth Sea Area, and around it, a total of four groups of Light Cruisers were escorting it. Although Rodney’s rush had dispatched Warships from other defensive lines to intercept, the Imperial Guard here seemed to have no intention of leaving whatsoever.

In short, they had to stop this warship first!

Even without sufficient firepower, Fang Zheng would never allow this warship to escape; at the very least, he needed to destroy its propulsion system to make it stop!

”Iona, full speed ahead! Nymph, prepare to deploy the Hacker Realm, ensure a maximum scale disruption of the armaments of the Light Cruisers while Iona advances! Iona, as soon as Musashi comes into range, immediately fire torpedoes and electromagnetic bombs, by any means necessary, prevent it from leaving this sea area!”

”Yes!”
